hi all
can i just ask what is the tea that you can drink from 37 weeks pg is it rasberry leaf tea?

majormoo · 09/10/2006 13:11

Hi youngmum-yes it's raspberrry leaf tea and it is disgusting! But I am making myself drink it anyway. Got it from Neal's yard.

Emmy01-poor you-hope they find you some accommodation soon. As NNNM said, at least you found out about it before the baby arrived.

Girlygale-hope you are feeling better today and you and NNNM get some sleep soon.

mmmmchocolate · 09/10/2006 13:17

Hi all, congratulations to everyone who had LO already. I am due 14th with no 2, who we know is a boy and willing him out now!!! I am so tired i can't sleep, only time i feel truley comfortable and sleeping is about 6.45 when dh gets up and dd comes smiling into the bedroom to start the day.
Baby still very active, just been midwife and was boring ust normal check, not sure what i was hoping for. had what i think was a show 2 weeks ago so was hoping things may of started early but no such luck.

I have been following this thread since may so good to see things have started moving for so many keeps me hopeful it won't be too long!

Good afternoon ladies. Yes seems like the full moon has got a couple of us going. Not me unfortunately.
Been having a crappy couple of days realy. What with sleep deprevation and my grandad being so ill in hospital. My Mum found out he has a brain tumor. We thought it was a stroke at first because he was slurring and his face is quite droopy. Hes very depressed and has told Mum he doesnt want the op as hes 82 now and doesnt think its worth doing. Got a call form my sister last night to say her ex threatened her last night and started mouthing off at her for no reason. Luckily my nephews were there to ward him off(both being over 6foot tall and one being in the army dont think I would have argued!!). Dads going up there later to change her locks. Apart from that everythings tickety boo
No sign of baby coming anywhere in the near future. Told him hes allowed as Nanny and Grandad are here but he doesnt seem to be listening.
Good luck to all you ladies getting twinges and things. Come on Swizzler dont keep us in suspenders girl.

Tigerlion · 09/10/2006 14:05

Due date today and I just know that absolutely bugger all is going to happen. Bored of this waiting lark. DS was 10 days overdue and I can just tell that this LO is going to be as lazy as her big brother.

DH got reflexologist to come over yesterday which was bliss but didn't seem to do much to induce labour. trying not to think too much about baby (if that is at all possible) as things will probably happen quicker if I just relax which is far easier said than done.

I have 2 doses of arnica. One is 30cc and one is 6cc. Can I start taking the stronger one when labour starts and then the weaker one after baby born or vice versa? How often can I take them?

Your kitchens sound bliss and I am amazed that you are making roasts Clon. How very impressive. Hopefully you did not have to do all the work yourself?! I would love a new kitchen but we are renting and the landlord refuses to put anything new in the house despite our various attempts at breaking the 20 year old oven!

COME ON BABIES and hope that the silence means that we have some new ones to add to the list...

Mmmmchocolate, I am due on the same day as you. Just been to see my mw too and was very dull! I seem to think if I ask enough times she'l tell me when the baby's likely to make an appearance! She says I'll be given a date for induction when I go back next monday - hoping it doesn't come to that. I don't know about you but getting information out of my midwives is like getting blood out of a stone.
emmy01 so sorry to hear about your house - hping it sorts out for you, and if the baby's late that'll give you a bit more time.

totallyfloaty35 · 09/10/2006 15:28

Hi ladies, been feeling rough all day, stomach pains and nausea. Also contractions every 15mins for over 3hrs now,but cant tell if it labour or it just hurts as i have stomach bug, been on birth ball as only way i can get comfy and had to have pain killers as could hardly move,oh well am sure i will find out soon as mw coming at 4pm.
Doubt its labour though as not due til friday and last 2dds had to be induced at 2wks late

DashingRedhead · 09/10/2006 16:09

Congrats to the happy mums with their new babies.

Is absolutely everyone out there cleaning their houses? I have no nesting instinct whatsoever except for cooking and baking cakes. Am I just terribly idle?

wuzzlefraggle · 09/10/2006 16:37

well, ive decided to stop the cleaning for today seeing as ive been doing it all in all for 4 and a half hours (and thats just downstairs, upstairs will be tomorrows possible time filler). i should pack the last of my labour bag really too

i must admit, the sooner the baby decides to start making tracks outta me the better lol.

girlygale1 · 09/10/2006 16:50

Hi everyone - sorry to have ranted off like that, don't want to bring everyone down, it is so reassuring that there are others feeling the same as me and that I'm not some ungrateful cow that should just be happy I'm having a baby ... which of course I am, just hating these last few weeks!

Emmy01 I am so sorry to hear about your situation, you must think I'm terrible whinging on about nothing compared to you. I do hope that the house situation gets sorted soon, and that you can finally settle before LO arrives. I agree not to read the papers - they do love to sensationalise, hang on in there. You must be very proud of him ...

nnnm - dd is 2.5 years old. Usually she is a dream, but just recently she is hard work, maybe its just because I am bigger and slowing up and cannot keep up with her ... needles to say I have had to put her back to bed 4 times this afternoon - she desperately needed the sleep but refused to give in. I feel terrible when I shout at her and plonk her back in her bed, but it is totally for both our benefits. As it happens she is still asleep now so will have to wake her otherwise she won't sleep tonight!

I have got hosp tour tonight ... I had dd in Kent, and have moved since so want to look around, dh doesn't understand why I want to look around ... easy for him, his son was born in this hosp so knows it all. Anyway informed him in NO undercertain terms that he has to come with me and it is for me ... his wife's benefit ... that we are going!!!!! Bless him - doesn't he understand not to argue with a hormonal woman!?!

Anyway, sorry for huge post, hope to hear some good news soon from everyone on their deliveries!

nnnm - Hang on in there, please rant to me anytime you need to! xx

agrimum · 09/10/2006 17:17

Congratulations to all who have produced. Thought I was starting this morning - but all gone quiet now. Then had the phonecall to tell me that my cousin who was not due for another month has had hers. Typical. MW on Wednesday - at 39wks, I am hoping that the consultant has asked her to do a sweep! Just unpacked my hospital bag in fit of panic, making a list and checking all websites as I am sure I have forgotten something important. Oh and just to worry further, pram, car seat etc which I ordered in the middle of August is still to be delivered.
Hope all are well

EmilyTurner · 09/10/2006 17:50

Hi everyone

Sorry some of you are having a sad time. I empathise with those who have relatives in the army. My sister is a Royal Military Policewoman and has been in Basra for seven months. Her tour finishes next month and we are all waiting for her to return.

I went to see fat baby consultant today, as the tummy was measuring too big according to sonographer/midwife. The consultant couldn't work out what the problem was. He said the measurement was fine and that 7, 8 and 9 pound babies are all normal. He said if it is near 8 pounds already at 37 weeks and I had a 8 pound 6 baby last time at 38 weeks, then what is to worry about?

I said I wasn't worried but I was told he might suggest a c-section. He rolled his eyes about midwives and told me it was nonsense. He said there was no reason why I couldn't have a good bith with this baby just like last time.

He asked how long the last labour was and I said 7 hours. He said it will be quicker this time. I told him if it wasn't I want my money back.

He has booked me in for a sweep on Nov 6 if it doesn't appear before 41 weeks. He was a nice guy and I am really relaxed.

I just wish these bloody period pains I've got would stop.

PS The baby is no longer 3/5ths engaged but free. He said that is normal and it will bob in and out and only really engage when labour starts. Just the way it is with second babies.

nicand2 · 09/10/2006 17:51

Had Mw apt this afternoon, booked in for a sweep next Monday and induction will get booked then as well. Keep telling myself it's 2 weeks maximum now.

Bought some raspberry leaf tea today and the woman in the shop said I looked exhausted so I'm hoping that's a sign that baby may put in an appearance soon!!

Have spent most of the day applying for a mortgage as we have reserved a new house 70 miles away which will be home at the end of November. All very stressfull but I suppose it's taking my mind off the impending birth.

There does seem to be quite a few people who have gone quiet, I wonder how many babies have arrived??

wuzzlefraggle · 09/10/2006 21:24

agrimum - fingers crossed that your pram arrives soon

emily - glad to hear that the consultant cleared a few things up for you. some mw's seem to have a knack for making mums to be worry from what i gather from some of the other ladies posts too.

nic - yeah, quite a lot of people have gone quiet..something tells me that a few more babies are making an entrance .wish i was one of them to be brutally honest as i would very much like the aching / insomnia/ fatigue (makes no sense at all i know)/ etc etc to stop now lol

youngmum21 · 09/10/2006 21:31

congratulations pmoore!! x

majormoo · 10/10/2006 10:02

congratulations pmoore on your daughter. What a good weight! Hope you are feeling OK after what sounds like a long birth (you will have to fill us in on the gorey details when you get a chance!) Take care

It is exciting logging on to see who has popped each day.

Due date for me but no action. And our car door has decided to break this morning-cannot open the driver's side at all which is just brilliant for me, 9 months pregnant having to clamber over the passenger side. Worried about putting it into the garage incase the baby decides to put in an appearance while we have no car. These things are sent to try us!!

youngmum21 · 10/10/2006 10:05

congratulations pmoore!!! x

mamado · 10/10/2006 10:07

Morning everyone. Congratulations pmoore - a girl at last! Due date for me too today and no real signs yet [might just go and scrub the kitchen floor and then eat some pineapple!] - thought number two was meant to come earlier than number one!
Oh well, guess I should resign myself to being 2 weeks late and feeling like a hippo for that much longer

I wonder who'll be next....
