marthahm · 07/10/2006 12:24

yay! milliee well done. sounds like a fantastic experience despite the tear. very encouraging for the rest of us, hope you, dp and nicholas are well and happy

marthahm · 07/10/2006 12:25

well done highlander as well. we're really cracking on now! fab that your milk is already going.

luboo · 07/10/2006 12:39

Well done to Millie and Highlander!
Gingeme - glad you enjoyed your portrait, she's coming to me tomorrow evening. Can't decide what to wear, how much makeup etc. Glad you said about DH being involved as I hadn't thought of that but will tell him to spruce up, now!

majormoo · 07/10/2006 12:51

congrats millie and highligher on your new sons. Sounds like you both had great birth experiences. Take care.

nowanearlyNicemum · 07/10/2006 13:39

congratulations to Millie and Highlander
enjoy getting to know your baby boys

sounds like you may be on your way Swizzler - fingers crossed all goes well. any recent news from Gemmity?

I'm STILL here with my ctx and completely exhausted. dd didn't sleep last night - woke up screaming every 2 hours - hence neither did I. Am kind of hoping not to go into labour right now as there's no way I'd have the strength to cope with pushing and panting until i've had a proper night's sleep.

anyone else effected by the full moon????

Yey another boy to add to the list. Well done Highlander. Sounds realy lovely for you. And quite a dinky baby too.
luboo Im not that much of a make up person so I didnt wear any. Just a small pair of gold ear rings and a bit of gel in my hair(which is pretty short). I had bare feet too. I didnt think my ds or dh would be wanted either but Leah suggested acouple of shots with them. My ds totaly stole the show anyway as he is such a little poser. My dh has a disgusting cold too so didnt think hed want any done either but the way she made us stand and that I think theyre gonna be realy nice and Ill probably want all of them! She even got a couple of ds kissing my bump. She realy is a lovely lady and has a nearly 2 year old ds of her own so she was totaly at ease with my ds. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Swizzler how you doing? Or are you done. xxxx

marthahm · 08/10/2006 05:20

hi guys
woken up by painful period pain feeling yet again. this has been going on for over a week getting stronger every night. today it happened in the day time too. is this what all of you were talking about?
looks like gemmity may have had her baby as no word since fri or was it sat aft.
swizzler are you still there or has the moon really affected everyone?

majormoo · 08/10/2006 10:11

morning martha-everyone else must be off having had their full moon babies!
Could be a sign of something for you. Good luck.
I am very jealous of all these exciting warnings everyone is getting about labour. Nothing happening here.

nicand2 · 08/10/2006 10:29

I'm still here too - no exciting signs for me either

luboo · 08/10/2006 11:05

I had painful braxton hix - or were they contractions - last night. They came every 10 minutes for nearly 3 hours, then went. Baby very still today. Is this a sign? Not due til saturday...

marthahm · 08/10/2006 11:31

still here! as soon as it gets light the contractions ease off. i have a feeling it could be a very long week for me, due on friday, so here's hoping.
i met a chinese woman yesterday who is also about to give birth. she told me that they had purposefully waited til this year so that the baby would get a good chinese star sign (apparently last year and next year aren't as good as this one which is the dog-faithful, loyal, good leadership qualities, strong friendships etc etc)

nowanearlyNicemum · 08/10/2006 13:11

more false alarms here too!!
called midwife this morning as I thought maybe my waters had broken (they were trickling) so she told me to go in but when they tested, it wasn't the waters. so back home again now twiddling my thumbs!!!
good luck to all of you having pains (of all sorts) - it's got to be a good sign, hasn't it??!
wonder where Gemmity and Swizzler are? ...

totallyfloaty35 · 08/10/2006 13:33

i had pains yesterday too, they were every 15mins for about 4hrs.Baby has got lower to as went to the loo almost every 45mins for the whole night,im so tired today and really fed up.Even now im still getting really strong practice contractions,my groin hurts when i stand up and when i sit down it feels like baby about to come out of my bottom

girlygale1 · 08/10/2006 14:03

hi everyone - haven't posted for a couple of days as totally fed up and probably would have brought you all down.

Congratulations to all you lucky mums!!!! I am unbelievbably (probably not how you spell it) jealous of you!!!!! want lo out now. 2 weeks to go, probably be 2 weeks late knowing my luck at the moment!

After our car window was smashed we had to find £60 for the excess, now the brakes have gone and we have been quoted £250 ish for them to be fixed. We have no money, we have to get the brakes done - obviously - am totally hormonal, and cry at the drop of a hat. Can't seem to find room for any of the baby's bits - house is a mess, dh is totally oblivious to how I am feeling - really depressed. dd keeps waking in the night so that on top of no sleep due to period pains, and pelvic pains, and cold and frequent toilet trips - I am on great form!!!!

I am so sorry for the rant - feel so depressed.

marthahm · 08/10/2006 21:57

poor you girlygale, seems like you're having a crap time. no sleep makes you feel even worse. i hope tonight is better.

DogMum · 09/10/2006 08:48

emzickle, glad your mw appt went well. Was she happy with the baby's movements? My mw said the head is no longer engaged (was 3/5), so not sure what's going on there. And I haven't got another check until 40 wks. Really tempted to get a private scan done - no chance of getting one any other way.

Gemmitygem, sorry you had a rough experience in hospital. btw - if my vet had a bedside manner like that, I'd take my dog somewhere else.

Congratulations Milliee. It sounds wonderful. Just a pity we can't call you 'mooing Milliee.' Well done Highlander too.

Marthahm, I'm glad we've all 'chosen' a good Chinese year for our babies. We've chosen a good month in the school year too, kids born before Christmas are supposed to do better.

Girlygale, I hope you're feeling better about life now. My house is getting tip-like too, but I've only got short trickles of energy to do anything about it. I think I'll take the dog out so I don't have to look at it.

Popsi · 09/10/2006 09:28

Still here too! Congratulations Millee & Highlander.Nothing to report really - no contractions no BH. Have growth scan on Thursday but am not worried - am quite looking forward to seeing baby!

Highlander · 09/10/2006 10:32

best of luck everyone. Maybe we'll all be done in a couple of weeks

wuzzlefraggle · 09/10/2006 10:49

congratulations milliee and highlander!!

my kitchen is now done!! woohoo! all i have to do now is work out how to use the new oven lol

so, today ive decided to do a big living room re-aranging/clean up so i can just relax knowing everythings fine for the baby for the last 2 weeks

woke up this morning and my stomache just feels totally defferent...it feels much heavier and like i have pressure in my pelvis (if that makes any sense)

clon · 09/10/2006 11:33

Hello all

Congratulations on the new arrivals Millee and Highlander and congratulations on your new kitchen Wuzzle! I used my new oven for the first time yesterday for a big roast dinner - yum!

I'm madly cleaning the house at the mo, just want to get rid of all the dust from the building work, bathroom and bedroom on the list today. I'm hoping for a week of complete sofa time afterwards, no signs whatsoever of this baby coming which I'm pleased about I'm not ready yet!!

Gingeme sounds like you have a fun time with your photographer, sounds like the pictures will be stunning.

It's very exciting signing on here now and reading about who may be next, I hope Swizzler is ok - let us know how you are Swizz!

Girlygale hang in there, hope you are having a better day today.

emmy01 · 09/10/2006 11:52

girlygale1 Hi I know how you feel, why do these thing happen right now and all at once !

I havent posted for a while because we have had to move out of our house for 2 months due to discovering our boiler had been leaking for a month or so and has damaged our kitchen, 2 main bedrooms and lounge the damp has moulded the walls and floors carpets etc ! its awful. we have had to move in with my mum and dad and the builders cant start work until the property is certified dry which is taking ages. Baby is due on the 21/10/06 and I cant sleep as husband snores and I am so uncomfy now with big bump, I cant even sleep in my own bed. my brother is fighting in afganistan and we are so worried about him- with all you read in the papers its not good.

sorry to moan to but I am trying to be strong for my hubby and family I just need to get out how I feel I just want to go home and have my home birth as planned but that cant happen now as I have no home and mums place is not suitable I wont even be able to take my new baby back to its proper home for a month or so. I have booked in to our local birth unit which seems nice so I feel better about not having to go to a hospital as such.

I feel totally in limbo like all my securiy has been taken away I cant prepare anything for baby as we dont know where we will be as there is not enough room for us and new baby at mums insurance company are looking for rented accom ASAP but are not getting lucky at mo. plus this is my first baby so I have no idea of what to expect.

anyway these things apparently happen for a reason, I wish I knew why this was all happening with under 2 weeks till baby day it doesnt seem fair but thats life I guess !

nowanearlyNicemum · 09/10/2006 11:58

totallyfloaty, I know exactly what you mean about feeling like the babies about to fall out of my bum - some positions are just REALLY uncomfortable!! I'm spending a lot of time upright - or on my gym ball.
dd still not sleeping properly so running on empty to be honest. we ended up putting her back in her travel cot so at least she can't get out of bed and ends up going off to sleep eventually. not the best solution but it's the best us sleep deprived parents ahve managed to come up with for now.
girlygale, hope you're feeling more human today. how old is your dd? I think they're really receptive to all the change going on but don't really know what to make of it. Must be very unsettling for them. Difficult to be sympathetic though when all you want/need is some serious rest. My dp has a man-cold at the moment so needless to say he's not much use to anyone!!!
still no news from Swizzler or Gemmitygem.... come on girls, put us out of our misery!!! has nobody had a full moon baby then???

nowanearlyNicemum · 09/10/2006 12:02

sorry emmy01, crossed posts. POOR YOU!
that is seriously what you call bad timing. try and make the most of having lots of people around to look after you and put your feet up. hopefully the insurance company will come up with some alternative accommodation for you soon. at least this happened BEFORE the baby arrived, I think that would have been even more stressful. fingers crossed things start drying out and the builders can get on with getting you back home asap. In the meantime, keep those legs crossed!!!

whiffy · 09/10/2006 12:11

Congratulations Millie, highlander, Seona - glad everythign went well for you all. What is it with all these boys? My DD will have a field day flirting with them all at the post-natal meet-ups.

quite a few posters have gone quiet.... methinks the full moon has got a few of you going on the labour front....

DogMum · 09/10/2006 12:30

emmy, you poor thing with all that stress and worry. You get it off your chest here, girl - it's what we're here for. Maybe give yourself a couple of weeks off the newspapers? Don't forget they only report the sensational stuff - routine ops don't sell papers, even posh ones.

Congratulations on your kitchens wuzzle and clon. Wuzzle, does different feeling belly mean it could be happening? Still looking out for the full moon announcements...
