morning organgebee. I was induced with my DD. It was all over and done with very quickly. The thing that surprised me was the way contractions went from nothing to being really strong so suddenly, but I guess everyone reacts differently to the drugs they give you. Good luck! They only let us go 10 days overdue here, so am going to be drinking lots of raspberry leaf tea/eating curry/pineapple/even managing sex (which is a last resort for me at the moment!) Hope all goes well.

Popsi · 04/10/2006 09:08

congratulations sallyrosie & well done!!

Emzickle - are you still there? Sounds like something is happening!

Hope you ladies have a good meet up in starbucks. Am off to midwife appointment - hope baby has turned round now but we'll see.

Tigerlion · 04/10/2006 09:11

By the way, is anyone good at working out what dreams are meant to mean? Dreamt that I gave birth to an enormous apple last night.

I do like apples and I am anxious about giving birth but what is all that about?! Anyone else still having bizarre dreams?!

thanks majormoo..that's reassuring..ystrdy had acupuncture, homeopathy, a sweep, a curry, raspberry leaf capsules and something approximating sex..4am I was up tidying airing cupboard..am clearly bonkers..my 2nd was 10 days late and huge
this one threatens to be an even bigger bruiser..ouch..

jmcmugwump · 04/10/2006 09:31

Congrats Sally Rosie and welcome to Edward.

Welcome orangebee - I don't want to even think about 2 weeks overdue - they only let us go 12 days here.

Emzikle - I hope you FIL enjoyed his spag bol - I think they have a bloody cheek expecting you to cook for them - next time your OH has such a bright idea you might like to suggest they bring dinner round for you!!

Have now got a bloomin' cold which is probably from all the stress and lack of sleep last week, so am hoping that the LO hangs in there for another few days so I can have the chance to get fully rested in preparation for D Day - OH has been really sweet and said he will definitely be with me even if the baby comes when his dad's funeral is going on - bless.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the meet up - what with all the funeral stuff and a cold to contend with I don't think I would have made it any further tahn the station, but I hope you all had a good time.

Off to go and make a quiche now, and then to Tesco's for a big shop - hopefully the last before LO arrives

sallyrosie · 04/10/2006 09:36

Thanks for all your messages - I am loving being home with him and he's just gorgeous. MN really helped me in those last few weeks - and to give me the confidence to be firm about my wishes when I was in labour. This is such a fab website.
He was born on the 1st - his due date!
Really hope I get to see some more birth announcements soon.

luboo · 04/10/2006 10:36

Congrats Sallyrosie!!! Brilliant news. Hope you are well. I am realy impressed with the no tearing!

totallyfloaty35 · 04/10/2006 11:05

Congrats sallyrose so pleased we finally started the october countdown.
Well i did the dirty deed last nightDH was happy, well once we had both stopped laughing at trying to find a position, but today i feel awful, really uncomfortable,i can barely walk from the groin pains and when i sit down the pressure on my bottom is horrible.
Am off to my 2hr pg pamper massage in a bit,im hoping that the leg massage will help my ankles reappear.
Saw MW last night BP normal so im back on target for my homebirth, finally got my pethidine prescription,i dont intend to use it,but its a bit like taking a raincoat on your hols, its gd to know its there!

whiffy · 04/10/2006 12:19

congratulations Bensmum/Sallyrosie. Will see you over on the post natel thread. Good luck Rumpel. So exciting seeing everything gearing up for everybody.

Hey Orangebee, if you're doing all that at 15 days over, what are your plans for next week? Thank heavens for inductions as can't imagine what else you can possibly do to that poor overdue body of yours! Still always good to give DH a feast of sex before the inevitable famine...

NowNice, regarding being convinced you wont cope with two - I was exactly the same just before DD arrived. And sure enough I can't I had hardly any sleep last night but never mind. At one point in the early hours I had them both crying their eyes out either side of me on the bed - DD needed feeding but was too upset to latch on and DS was all clingy and upset because he didn't want DD eating mummys' boobies..... rather wished I was in the spare room with DH....

Oh and by the way, Nownice, saw you wishing you were at the London meet - well, we can have one in Nice if you want soon.... our holiday apartment is FINALLY complete (have been waiting, oooooh, 2 years now....) and we get the keys next week, so we are coming out to fit it all out next mth, perfect opportunity for exotic meet-up in the sunshine if you fancy? The apartment is at the top of corniche bellevue if you know the area... we are hoping to enjoy the place in the few weeks between now and going bankrupt, thanks to measly SMP levels.

Oh, and Emzickle, I can top your tesco experience. went out for my first trip out since I got home from hospital (bloody C-sections! Can't drive anywhere by myself at mo). Checkout woman at Tescos took one look at me and asked when the baby was due. harumph.

jmcmugwump · 04/10/2006 12:38

Forgot to say I saw a friend at the weekend who I hadn't seen for 3 months - and she told me she thought I would be much bigger - not sure if that means she thought I would turn into a heffalump when pg, but have decided to take it as a compliment

Still can't get up quick, turn over in bed, bend down, empty bottom rack of dishwasher etc, but could be much worse!!

emzickle · 04/10/2006 12:49

congratulations Sallyrosie, YAY all these babies!!!

im still here yes - no baby, been having uncomfortable period like niggles, is that the start of things or just practising?

DogMum · 04/10/2006 12:51

jmcmugwump, MrsBlobby, hope you're feeling better soon.

Congratulations Sallyrosie. So that's the baby born on his due date - no chance for the rest of us now. Look forward to seeing you on the postnatal thread (but not too soon - pleeease.)

It was great to catch up with the ladies in Starbucks yesterday and yes, I did pig out on cake.

marthahm · 04/10/2006 12:59

congratulations sallyrosie. glad to hear you're back home with Edward-good name.
i hope rumpel is doing ok. i suddenly feel aprehensive that will still be pg in a month. better start the mental prep now. in the meantime i've just ordered a homeopathic remedy that's meant to thin your cervix-cross my fingers!
emzickle-your in laws sound painful. sounds like they need some serious talking to.
dh is still away but reappearing tonight hopefully. in the meantime my mum's been staying. was a dream but turned into slight nightmare when we had a row 2 nights running about how mean i was not to let all the grandparents see the baby as soon as it was born. guilt trip guilt trip...she was up all night worrying she said. then she anounced that she'd canvassed all her friends and they agreed with her. ended up shouting at her which made her cry and say i was v rude. tried to explain about pg hormones combined with her winding me up being dangerous situation but she was not impressed. now i wish i hadn't even asked her to come to the hospital with us.
on a lighter note it was lovely to meet up with those that could make it. really cosy. agnes, it must take much more bravery to come to the meet up than to post on here. go on, and then we can put you on the stats thread too
clon have all my fingers crossed for you that the builders finish today.
my dad is about to come and take me out for lunch. a real treat especially as i won't have to move my large lazy pg bum to cook! and it's the local deli so only have to waddle to end of street.

catgirl · 04/10/2006 13:01

congrats Sallyrose - and good luck those that are overdue!

lovely to meet up yesterday - I got home and slept for 2 hours! So knackered! Oh, and to those I mentioned that my ds is 'as healthy as anything' - he has spent the day vomiting! Lucky me. He is now on the sofa watching Robin Hood saying he is hungry - not risking any food for a while though.

Agnes - come and post - and on my way home wondered if I had seen you before at ante-natal yoga on a Friday night??

And, to those there yesterday, thinking caps on for a suitable place to meet with babies, maybe early December time?? Suppose if it was early Dec, John Lewis might not be too bad an option (has lifts, retail opportunities, nice food - we can colonise an area if we are early-ish) - but more suggestions please! Not sure what Canary Wharf is like for people to get to, but is very pram/baby friendly, all underground (jubilee line has lifts up from platform too I think) and lots of places to eat!

Good afternoon ladies. Was nice to see all you ladies yesterday. I had a lovely time then went for diner yesterday but it was all spoilt by heartburn. I watched Eastenders at 10 then thought Id be a good girl and go to bed. I was awake till 1am with bloody heartburn. Then when I finaly dropped off ds woke for a drink. Settled him again. He woke at 6am. Put him back to bed and woke again at 7.30 which wasnt too bad. I feel soooo tired today. Went for my mw appt this morning . Alls well with baby and me. Was told I might not get my water birth. Aparantly there was a baby born a couple of months ago that died in childbirth because of a ruptured placenta but because it was born in the pool theyre blaming that. Im so peed off at this but my mw who also delivered ds3 said I can labour in the water and if baby comes while Im in there shell take the wrap and say it was too quick to get me out.
We were also discussing a home birth. The more I think about it the more it makes sense and the hospital is only about 15 mins away if I need to go there. My next appt is 18th so Im gonna have a think about it.
Anyway my jacket potaotoe is ready so Ill bid you ladies a good afternoon. xxxx

mmm bon appetit Millie!!

not got the foggiest about your moon lark - would very much like the full moon to have an effect this weekend though

nowanearlyNicemum · 04/10/2006 14:46

whiffy, just saw your message on the other thread.
thanks for the reassurance that my life will be pants from here on in I just don't think dd could be any more difficult to cope with than she has been since Sunday night (famous last words) so the sooner this bubba turns up the better. Although dp is home tonight so maybe she'll feel a bit more 'reassured' by that.
Definitely up for a meet up in November, I'm just 20 minutes outside Nice - here's hoping that the baby has put in an appearance by then

Popsi · 04/10/2006 14:56

Hmm - well midwife said baby is right way round now which is good but not at all engaged - guess I'll be here for a while then. Also said looks small so is sending me for scan next week.
Have just opened £50 penalty notice for stupid DH driving in a bus lane - his excuse? Well his friend told him he could drive down it!
Also, although stopped work last week am working from home marking exam scripts and stupid people sent me all the wrong ones which means I can't start until a week late, which means I won't finish until a week late - which is when I am due!

nowanearlyNicemum · 04/10/2006 15:00

well it's good news that the baby is now headed in the right direction Popsi.

nicand2 · 04/10/2006 15:17

I've just been reading the spd thread on the home page and was wondering if anyone could tell me where the pain is with spd??

I've had loads of pain for weeks at the inside of the tops of my legs. It really hurts when I turn over in bed and sometimes I can't lift both legs onto the sofa. It is always worse when I've been sitting down.

I just put it down to normal aches and pains but it is getting worse and I'm wondering if I should have mentioned it to mw sooner??

emzickle · 04/10/2006 16:44

so ladies could this be the early early start of labour,
annoying period type feelings in my lower tummy and back? Im not due for another week.

emzickle · 04/10/2006 16:51

ow ow ow
