Sunbathing cat - the tablets are multivitamins for pregnancy with ginger extract - I don't know if you can just take ginger tablets, I'd check with a health professional.

Glenpip77 · 03/11/2014 22:50

Fingers crossed for you mrs k and mrs j - hope all goes well xx

So glad you mum took the news well mrs e :-)

On the antenatal appointment for part time workers, I've looked in to this as I work 3 days a weeks, usually away from home. An employer can ask you to try and book antenatal appointment in your non working days/time but they cannot force you due to the unpredictable nature of appointments, they would be breaching employment law if they tried.

Pasbeau, lemon and ginger tea is a good choice if it is the apple part you didn't like. I have to say Apple tea doesn't really appeal to me!! :)

Hope the scans are reassuring today mrsK and MsJ.

Ive found another lump in the other labia this morning. I guess this does suggest more cysts than anything more serious....... doesn't it? Thursday GP appt can't come quick enough. Still I guess its given me something other than pregnancy to worry about!

Phryn · 04/11/2014 07:41

Thinking of you and your scans today Mrsk and MrsJ. Hoping for good news and sticky beans to be seen.

Gr33dy sorry to hear about the lump worry even if it is distracting! Hope the GP can provide some answers on Thurs. I wonder if it can be at all related to the increased blood flow that goes to the uterus that can be the culprit for increased CM? Could the whole area by subject to extra blood flow and possible changes due to this (this is me totally guessing on vaguely sensible notions). Either way you've caught it now and it could very well just be totally normal, if a little unsettling!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 04/11/2014 07:43

Sunbathing I am also very specific about what I can eat and I've caught your satsuma obsession. I wouldn't say mine have to be green but definitely very firm. Oooo I couldn't be doing with baggy skin.

Yesterday I managed 2 sausages but I was annoyed Id let dh cook them. He got it wrong. They didn't look as perfect as they would have it Id made them.

I can't prepare food for the family at the mo. So they are having to live off dh's disastrous cooking. This pregnancy I just can't cope with raw meat at all. And I can't even contemplate eating chicken. That's a very new one for me. In 17 years motherhood ive never gone off that. Just goes to show each baby is different.

cuphat · 04/11/2014 08:15

Fingers crossed for the scans today.

Last time, I had an aversion to eggs for a short while (I even felt sick when they asked me if I had an allergy to egg before my flu jab!). I have no real aversions this time, I just don't fancy some things. As I'm not drinking coffee or my usual green tea I've been limited to redbush, which I normally drink (naturally caffeine free). However, now I've gone off that somewhat, so I've mainly been drinking plain tap water - exciting! I can't drink anything fizzy and avoid sugary drinks so that on top of avoiding caffeine is fun!

iwantkhaleesiseyebrows · 04/11/2014 08:24

Good luck for the scans today.

I'm feeling sick sick sick Hmm haven't actually vomited but the nausea is constant. Am currently on packed commuter train into Central London (nearly an hour journey) focussing on just getting through it. Bleugh Bleugh Bleugh Confused

iwantkhaleesiseyebrows · 04/11/2014 08:27

Oh Gr33dy I had a lump in my labia last pg. Sorry for tmi but it actually ended up bursting (didn't hurt) and had a small amount of blood which initially freaked me out until I realised what it was. It was around 11 weeks that it all cleared up. Fingers crossed the gp is able to reassure you.

iwantkhaleesiseyebrows · 04/11/2014 08:29

... I've just remembered the specific name - bartholin's cysts I think

Birdiegirl · 04/11/2014 08:41

Hi everyone, I haven't had time to catch up on thread, so just a quick skim. Ladies who are going for scans, I hope it all goes well, fingers crossed for you. Hope everyone else is keeping well and not too ill.

I'm 10+3 and have my first midwife appt today. Feels like things are moving at last, these first few weeks are like limbo!

Midwife is coming to the house which is a new one on me. I've moved to a different part of the UK since I had DD over 2 years ago but all my midwife appts were in the hospital or local surgery. So better get tidying before she arrives Smile

Keep you posted on how it goes.

htf2 · 04/11/2014 08:45

Hi ladies, good luck everyone with getting scans and congrats to those who have (I feel like a LOT of people have already had scans!) I want to repeat what a few people have said - this thread moves so fast it is hard to respond to people, but I feel for those struggling and really appreciate having the community to talk to! As an Australian far from home my close friends and family are all a long way away!

WillowHouse · 04/11/2014 08:52

hi joining in carefully - im 8/9 weeks pregnant. I have two dds who are 6 and 4. I've had three miscarriages in the last year and this is our last pregnancy as i suffer from HG and its all a bit gruelling. This is the longest I've been pregnant for (bar my dds) but im not really hopeful yet. I guess i'll believe if i make it to 12 weeks and see a real baby on a scan. I've declined early scans as they make me very anxious.
I have ptsd from my last birth and as a result of that a massive phobia of hospitals. So all in all fun fun fun. What we go thro for these babies Wink

bubalou · 04/11/2014 08:58

Hey all.

I'm still here floating around and enjoying reading all your posts. I too am part of the satsuma gang - there are very few things I can eat but this is on of them.

Feeling sorry for myself here and trying so hard not to get down. Have been bed bound for nearly a week now. Have had to do a urine test this morning that showed positive for keytones and a few other things so am waiting toxins out if I have to go back to hospital for a drip etc.

Don't want to drag everyone down. Am so glad there's so many great scans etc going on.

Morning all! Got my booking in this morning at about 11am. I'm 8+6 I think. Trying not to be too excited as I know it's likely to be uber-boring, but can't help it a little bit. Makes it feel more real, y'know?

I was drinking ginger beer and ginger biscuits when I had my week of being really ill with morning sickness, problem was, because I then threw up a lot, it's kind of put me off the taste of ginger now. I'm so glad that I've been lucky and it didn't go on longer than a week. I don't know how I would have coped!

Welcome Willow! Fx for you that everything is going as it should.

gakay · 04/11/2014 09:28

Sadly my scan yesterday proved my worries were right and have had a mc. Thank you for all the support over the weekend as it really did help me through it. Wish you all a smooth pregnancy and will be thinking of you and your lovely babies in June xx

Jackiebrambles · 04/11/2014 09:36

Ooh good luck Forty with your booking in appt. I can’t wait for mine either as this limbo is driving me mad, I feel like I’ve been pregnant for about 6 years.

I’ve got mine in 3 weeks.

You have also given me hope that the nausea doesn’t necessarily have to last the whole 12 weeks! I’m 6+3 now and I don’t know whether I’m feeling slightly better or that I’ve just got used to it. It’s getting me down a bit. Can you remember what week it was worse for you?

But I don’t know why I am moaning when Bubalou is really suffering!

bubalou · 04/11/2014 09:37

So sorry gakay.

Take care of yourself. Thanks

Sending you hugs.

Jackiebrambles · 04/11/2014 09:41

So sorry Gakay, gutted for you. Hope you've got some good support at home.

cuphat · 04/11/2014 09:42

I'm so sorry, gakay.

JennyOfOldstones · 04/11/2014 09:44

So sorry gakay. Flowers

My sickness is def easing off the last 2 days and I have managed some slightly healthy food. Am 9+4 today.

bubalou · 04/11/2014 09:49

Thanks jackie Grin

But suffering is suffering.

I'm not one of those who snaps at everyone who says they have bad morning sickness - it's horrible whatever degree of it you have.

A friend of mine is now 7 months pregnant and when I told her what I have she commented to say 'oh I think I had that too because I felt really queasy at least 5 times in early pregnancy'.

Not going to lie - yes I wanted to fucking slap her then! Wink

Im being positive today. I will not less this beat me. It will all be just a memory a few weeks from now hopefully.

So sorry gakay. My heart is heavy for the passengers we've lost during this thread. One of my postnatal group buddies who was here has gone too. I feel very very fortunate to still be pregnant.

I'm also trying to keep up. I read more than I post but I'm thinking of you all, especially those struggling with sickness.

Any sign of a new thread?
