Okay. I feel like a bit of a melodramatic twat now!

I think it was the strawberry Ribena I was drinking that sent my nausea in to overdrive.

I ate some crisps and started to feel a little less sick. I took a sip of the Ribena and boom. It was back with avengence.

I realised the worst of the nausea started just after I started drinking it this evening (DP picked me up a drink and that was all he could find...!)

Duh.

Okay. Going to take a deep breath, eat some more carbs and see what that brings!

I'm definitely craving the carbs. Arghh.

TheDetective · 02/11/2014 22:44

DP pointed out that it had 29% of my daily sugar intake in it. Also, I don't drink sugary drinks.

So that might explain it a little more!

I've just managed to get up and get my clothes together (going away for 2 nights tomorrow!). And made the bed with fresh bedding. It took all my energy but I did it. Without vomming. Phew.

Feel like a muppet now!

I'm fine with squash (but I drink no added sugar so maybe that's why??!) I'm wondering if the sugar rush was just too much!

I'm off chocolate too Shock. Then again, I was last time too!

Right. Bed clean sheets mmmmm! and sleep. See what tomorrow brings!

I'd just like to get through til Thursday. Please!

Welcome filly! I feel the same with regards to the attention. Luckily it seems last time most people ignored it. Which suited me fine!

I hate being the centre of attention. Although I am quite loud and outgoing. Oddly. Hmm

Has anyone else got a lumpy boob? One of mine sprouted a lump earlier in the week. The same day they started to get bigger and a little tender. So I'm assuming they are related.

Zaccheryquack · 03/11/2014 05:00

Welcome Filly and congratulations!

So sorry to hear you have hg Bubalou. Hope they have given you something to help control it until it disappears naturally!

Congrats on the phd stuff envious. What an important time to be feeling rotten. Glad it helped though!

Also having issues cooking but just fish. FIL coming over for dinner tonight and have had to ask DH to come home a bit earlier than normal so he can do the fishy bit. Fine with cooking most other things but For some reason cannot even consider putting a bit of fish in the frying pan or under the grill!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 03/11/2014 07:27

So we told 7 of our dc last night as they were all in the same spot for once and it's getting harder to pretend with increasing amounts of time I'm spent asleep or in bed and permanently feeling ill. The news went down well, they all knew anyway, had Sussed it out and were having bets on it. They even knew we were ttc for bloody ages. They'd found all the ov sticks, vitamins you name it! And littlest ds decided the scan pic was a little fish so that has now officially stuck.

Phryn · 03/11/2014 07:46

The Detective as far as I understand you can get some lumps due to breast tissue growth that are benign (I presume they de-lump in time) but it would be worth keeping an eye on and telling your GP/midwife on case it's a sign of something more concerning.

MrsE - really glad your DC were pleased with the news. The name "little fish" is very cute!Smile

BingoBonkers · 03/11/2014 07:47

MrsE that is lovely! Little fish.
Smile

We are a right vommy bunch aren't we? Didn't feel toon as yesterday as was a busy day. Paid for it last night as fell asleep at 730 and woke up at 10 and went straight to bed. Woken up at midnight by dc2 then again at 4&5 by eldest having nightmares. Finally back to sleep and have woken up sick as a dog and killer back ache to boot. It's taken me nearly an hour to get the DC dressed this morning. I now need to find something to wear myself that doesn't scream "IS SHE PREGNANT?"

JennyOfOldstones · 03/11/2014 08:40

Welcome and congrats filly

envious well done on passing your viva I have no idea how you did that feeling like you do!

I am feeling a bit less sick today, normally can't get through getting ready for work without retching but was ok today! Hope I am turning a corner...especially as I have a really long day on weds flying up to Glasgow and back for a meeting!

fortywinx · 03/11/2014 09:23

Hi all, sorry I haven't been on for awhile. OH's 30th birthday celebrations and internet problems last week prevented me from popping on. Hope everyone is doing okay. I'm full of cold but apart from that I'm fine! Got my booking in appt tomorrow morning so that will probably make it feel a bit more 'real' as I've been feeling fairly 'normal' for a week or so with my symptoms fading a bit. Fingers crossed!

teeniedeenie34 · 03/11/2014 09:55

Morning all!

Welcome and congrats on your BFP TheFillyJonk I am 5+6, edd June 30th so we are a day apart Grin

MrsE Glad your dc were pleased with your news. Love Little Fish, so cute!

I went on a 2 hour walk with my OH yesterday which was lovely, good to get out for some fresh air, especially as it's such a great time of year when you get a nice day. However, my sciatica seems to have flared up now and is now starting in my lower back and shooting down the side of my thigh. Needless to say I didn't sleep well last night so will no doubt be like a washed out rag by 3pm.

Will be 6 weeks tomorrow and am massively bloated... It's not too bad in the morning but by evening I am unfastening my trousers and look huge! Is this normal so early on? I thought I'd get another few weeks before this started (nervously laughs)...

jazzyjenbo · 03/11/2014 10:42

Morning all,
Welcome filly
Thedetective - i wouldnt worry about the boob lumpiness.. They get very lumps and the lumps can be tender to touch, its the glands and milk ducts increasing in size ready for milk, the lumpiness will even out as they all catch up! You can start getting abit of discharge from the nipple when all the ducts start working so dont be suprised if thats the nxt step (usually 2nd/3rd trimester)
Sunbathing - another one crying at the dying dog last night. I then watched an old episode of obem and was crying from the moment the music started at the beginning!
Received my nhs exemption card over the weekend, just in time for todays trip to the dentist.

Morning ladies Smile Congratulations fillyjonk, a Moomins fan are we? Smile please could I have some advice ladies? When I phoned my midwife the receptionist sounded like she didn't quite know what she was doing, a trainee maybe. I have my first appointment today at 7w4d (if my dates are accurate) but is that too soon? I know it's usually 8w+ so I'm kind of concerned they're going to tell me it's too early for the appointment and make me wait a bit longer!

ots · 03/11/2014 11:17

Morning all :) Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

I have just had a phonecall from the housing department, I have an appointment on Friday with the allocations manager about our housing situation. They asked me to bring proof of pregnancy. What can I take? Haven't yet had a scan or booking in so have no notes or paperwork!

Amazing, thank you sunbathingcat :)

Chookford · 03/11/2014 11:39

Welcome and congrats filly

MrsE glad telling the kids went well, and little fish is a very cute nn!

Buba sorry to hear you have HG hopefully now with treatment you will start to recover and I hope it does stop around the 12wk mark.

ots I second what sun said, they will have to wait for paperwork until you have had booking in.. hope they get this sorted for you and you end up with a fab home for you and the family.

teeniedeenie34 · 03/11/2014 11:52

Goodness Sunbathing We would obviously be thrilled but I think it would take me the whole 6 months after 1st scan just to get over the shock, nevermind the planning for twins lol! No, no this is definitely just bloating! (nervously laughs again)

ots · 03/11/2014 11:52

Thanks sun and chookford. My mum has just suggested taking the letter from the hospital with my scan date on it. Then if he wants anymore solid proof I can forward it after my booking in. Really hope we get somewhere.

Phryn · 03/11/2014 12:04

Morning all. Hope those who are struggling sickness/nausea wise are doing okay.

I've had a brave morning - told my line manager I'm pregnant to ensure my sick day from the other week is correctly identified as pregnancy related and because of my 12 week scan coming up in work time it felt easier to say now. She was very supportive and pleased for me which helped.

I've also done a bit of pregnancy maths and started to think about potentially when to go on mat leave next year as I need to book clinic rooms for the next 6 months. It all seems very pie in the sky but making a plan (which is at the moment take mat leave from due date or week before but take annual leave from 36/37 weeks as I'll have lots to use up) seems like a good rough for me. I might change my mind completely of course!

Really don't want to get ahead of myself (in case anything goes wrong) but I'm also a real planner and find it generally helps to contain my anxiety in most situations. I don't think I expected pregnancy to be so hard to think through when emotions and logic collide so regularly Confused

Phryn · 03/11/2014 12:05

*say why not now re scan!
