Mrse by now maybe you are on tur way to a&e???sending hugs

MrsExtraOrdinary · 21/10/2014 16:05

No I'm not but I have found out what the drug was the heamatologist recommended was safe in pregnancy to calm this dreadful pain down. Which is one step forward.

notsoold · 21/10/2014 16:22

Will you be able to get it asap???

Phryn · 21/10/2014 16:34

Thinking of you mrsE. Glad the pain drug is safe but really hoping you can have a scan soon or go down the A&E route to get some answers and some support x

cuphat · 21/10/2014 16:56

My first midwife appt went well. I found out I'll definitely be able to have an elective c-section which is a big weight off my mind.

12 week scan on 21st November! I don't think I can save the spreadsheet from an ipad?

Despite the nhs website saying the flu jab is fine early on (and I did last time), I was also advised to wait until 12 weeks! Very surprised. I'll wait and just hope I don't get the flu in the meantime...

A planned section means I'll more than likely have baby in late May.

Marking my place for the upcoming months, due date calc is saying 20th June atm but I haven't seen midwife yet x

jazzyjenbo · 21/10/2014 17:35

Hi there. I have been lurking but not posting mainly due to a scan I had last week. I had an early one and now wish I hadn't as the sonographer has 'prepared me for not good news'. Either my dates are wrong or it isn't good news. They saw a fetal pole, yolk sac and gestational sac but nothing else..... that would appear to be normal if I was earlier along than my dates say (but I know my LMP, know when I tested +ve for pregnancy). The sonographer also said my yolk sac looked a little large. I have been offered a rescan a week later and am tempted to ignore it... either way the wait is awful. The early scan in my case has caused some distress as in a strange way I would rather not know.

I kind of wanted to post for those considering an early scan.... in your decision making just be prepared for what they say if it isn't good news or if they can't see anything because it is too early so gives the impression of not good news.. they aren't always reassuring as I am now non the wiser (just more worried)

Welcome and congrats Frankie

Chaos - so sorry for the worry and distress that you are going through. May I ask how far along you are from LMP? Really hope that can get some clear answers and that you have a sticky bean that might just be developing a little more slowly than expected. Could you have ovulated later than usual? The waiting is so hard I can appreciate that.

ots · 21/10/2014 18:06

chaos sorry to hear about your scan, but try to stay positive for now. Like phryn said you may have ovulated late. Hope you get an answer asap x

Had a date in the post for my scan today, 26th Nov. I'll be 12+4 then. Its early in the morning too which is good as I will not cope having to wait around all day. I'm so nervous about it as the last scan I had showed a baby with no heartbeat Sad, but I am trying to be positive.

Had a lovely child free day with my sisters today and started my Christmas shopping!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 21/10/2014 18:07

Chaos I'm so sorry. And I completely agree it doesn't always mean bad news. I had this situ last time and to begin with was told it was a phantom pg, after several early scans they did find a heart beat but was so stressful at the time. That's why I was reluctant this time. But think 8 weeks will be time enough for me. I'm huge so that's my reasoning for a scan. I'm either full of water of there's more than one in there. Either way j need to know earlier than 12 weeks so I can make decisions about care.

I really hope you're not in limbo too long. Thanks

Alisvolatpropiis · 21/10/2014 18:07

Hello all, can I join?

Had my booking in appointment today and from my dates I'm 7 weeks so will be due in June next year too.

Choccywoccydodah · 21/10/2014 18:08

What phryn said chaos.
When I had ds I found out cd40! They wet from my lmp and I kept telling them that I was a week earlier than my dates. Sure enough I bled a little at 8 weeks, turns out I was 7 (like I told them!!)
I'd def go for the rescan.

I'm having one due to multiple miscarriage, mine is a reassurance scan rather than anything else.

Welcome Frankie and congrats!!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 21/10/2014 18:10

I will phone the gp in the morning and request omeprezole. Thank god for for mn as another lady knew exactly what it was called.

chaoscausingboys · 21/10/2014 18:13

Phryn my last LMP was 27th August, my cycles can be anything from 28 to 32 days ish. No idea on when I ovulate. I only know that DH went away with work for a bit before I ovulated (he left on CD12?) and I know when we dtd before that.. so can kind of take a date from that. This is why we were so shocked initially on the +ve test.

One positive is my due dates moved considerably from LMP with DS2..scan date was at least a week later than LMP.. and then he was 12 days late!! So am clinging onto that..... and the sheer amount of reading I have done on early scans the last few days .. how I could have ovulated late, how long the swimmers can survive, late to implant etc etc.

But also I have just a minute ago POAS one of the clearblue digi ones and it now shows 3+ (last week when I had the scan it was 2-3) and am feeling a little nauseous now.

It is such a waiting game.. I wish I was in blissful ignorance now however.

Choccywoccydodah · 21/10/2014 18:19

So if you had you scan when the digi said 2-3, that means you would have been 4-5 weeks, which from your scan is exactly what you should have seen!!

ktd2u · 21/10/2014 18:21

I've been weighing up the early scan option because of my also paranoid brain (you're not alone SunbathingCat!) but another part of me thinks hold out for 12 weeks as what will be will be and at least I can hold onto the idea of being pregnant longer. I've no reason to think anything is wrong but then no experience either. Decisions decisions....

Chookford · 21/10/2014 18:28

chaos sorry to hear your having a bit of a rollercoaster ride but as choccy said if you had 2-3 wks when the scan was done it would have been too early to see anything if you now have 3+ that's a great sign that your hcg is rising.

I had an early scan due to my previous mmc like some others my body didn't want to do it's job naturally so I had weeks of limbo before finally having medical management so for me I wanted to know straight away if there was a problem to get it sorted quicker this time, but can understand why some of you are reluctant I was absolutely terrified before the scan but for me it was the best thing but that's my personal opinion

Newcy · 21/10/2014 18:42

Hi, I am due on 21st June with my first baby and would like to share experiences with other mums to be, at similar stages of pregnancy. Smile

Choccywoccydodah · 21/10/2014 18:45

Welcome newcy and congrats!

gingerbreadmam · 21/10/2014 18:45

oooh this thread has moved on lots, lovely to see all the new bfps. Hope everyone is well. Quickly skimmed the thread, Thanks to all those a little under the weather.

I am a first timer and wondered if anyone could advise me, i seem to be suffering from trapped wind really low down that i think is causing really painful backache. Has anybody else experienced this and what can i do to help it? it wakes me up in the middle of the night in a hot sweat Blush paracetamol and hot water bottle take it away but i dont want to keep relying on painkillers especially this early on. Work in an office and sitting at a desk all day doesn't help.

Anybody else had / having similar? Feeling a bit pathetic as assumed backache would come when i was much further on Confused

chaoscausingboys · 21/10/2014 18:46

Sorry I didn't mean to say don't do the scan, there are perfect reasons for it and a mmc is just awful and my heart goes to anyone who has had to go through that in the past and the associated worry now. I just don't think I was prepared for the news tbh and the implications. So I guess that was what I was trying to say. I also don't understand my dates which has made it worse.. but nothing is known and all bodies are different. I do have the reassurance that something is there, so will just enjoy the nauseous feeling in all of its glory. Thank you all.
