My DP thinks I am mad having an early scan loiterer but I don't care. He got me to do a preg test last night and said as it was positive I couldn't possibly need a scan as well. Luckily I don't pay much attention to him!

Re stuffy nose I have one too but might be more because I came off my antihistamines. Might need to go back on in spring but not too bad now. Glad my first trimester is in winter not that I could have planned it!

cuphat · 21/10/2014 12:51

Don't the pregnancy hormones stay in your system for a while anyway, so you'd still get positive tests even if the worst had happened? And at a certain point don't the hormone levels get so high that tests don't work properly anyway?

I did find the early scan reassuring for a bit and feel more positive having seen a heartbeat but I still can't get those stories about the scans out of my head. Even though I know that most of the people with those stories had probably had the scan because they were already bleeding etc (and I haven't had any).

Wow, that's a long time. I've never tried the testing later on thing, I've just read it on here before.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 21/10/2014 13:06

I had the flu jab last time and had to take two days off work as it made me feel so terrible. So I'm a bit scared of it now! However I suppose two days of feeling awful is better than two weeks... Dd is supposed to have it too but I haven't booked her appointment for the same reason...

So this morning my gp referred me for scan of my stomach and spline to see what's going on. I'm in so much pain. I've also decided to book a private scan for 8 weeks to see what's going on with the baby. It's not very expensive and may answer why I'm so huge.

AnythingNotEverything · 21/10/2014 13:28

MrsE I'm so sorry you're in such pain but this does sound like progress. I hope you get a date soon.

Oh new thread, just seen it!

5 weeks today. Anxiety has kicked in for early scan next week.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 21/10/2014 13:45

Thanks guys! Just feeling pathetic. Sunbathing could you imagine the reaction. Mind you doesn't suit everyone. Certainly worked for me though as my cycles were getting sillier and sillier. Up to 40 days one cycle.

Tranquilitybaby · 21/10/2014 13:45

Aww MrsEO I hope you can get your pain under control x

MrsExtraOrdinary · 21/10/2014 13:46

I'll be 8 weeks in about 10 days so not long really.

Choccywoccydodah · 21/10/2014 13:47

What is wrong MrsE? I caught snippets but can't grasp it fully! Xx

MrsExtraOrdinary · 21/10/2014 13:47

Tranquility I have a permanent hot water bottle strapped to my ribs at the mo. It's the only slight respite. Not tried eating anything today yet. Not eaten properly for 10 days.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 21/10/2014 13:53

Choccy I had a very rapid unassisted birth on number 5. Which broke my bottom Blush, 4 surgeries later to reconstruct we started ttc. The reconstruction took 2 years. In the mean time it became apparent that I couldn't tolerate oral iron tablets anymore. I've been on them 20 years ish after a major virus in my teens. I just can't absorb enough iron from my diet and suffer with persistently low ferritin (iron store) also have hypothyroidism. So the upshot is, I'm aneamic and the hospital Dr agreed I need to have intravenous iron to bypass stomach and bowel straight into blood, but can't have that until 3rd trimester. And in the last 10 days my stomach aches have become crippling. So wonderingly whether my stomach ulcer is grumbling. I've got the usual besides, but in addition if i eat anything I end up doubled over in agony within minutes. I've been fairly bed bound for last week with no energy and fainting. Sorry that was long Sadjust feel rubbish and a bit hopeless.

Chookford · 21/10/2014 13:58

MrsE so sorry to hear about all this rubbish you are putting up with, I really hope the scan offers some answers and they can make you feel alot better with some treatment it really sucks that you have all of that on top of growing a person too Flowers

Tranquilitybaby · 21/10/2014 14:01

If you're in that much pain, get yourself to A&E, it needs to be taken seriously. X

MrsExtraOrdinary · 21/10/2014 14:02

Dh wants me to go to A&E too but I don't think I could actually sit on one of those plastic chairs. The GP is going to get the scan done urgently so just waiting for a phone call.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 21/10/2014 14:06

MrsE that sounds hideous. You poor thing. Hope the Dr manages to whizz you through and you get some serious help soon.

Tranquilitybaby · 21/10/2014 14:09

Ask for a wheelchair to sit in. Seriously you need to go and soon x good luck

cuphat · 21/10/2014 14:13

Sorry to hear you're going through all that, I really hope you get some help soon.

MrsE that sounds awful :( If you don't hear anything you should definitely get yourself to A&E if you don't hear about your scan soon. What counts as urgent to them might not be what we would count as urgent! Flowers

Choccywoccydodah · 21/10/2014 15:16

MrsE that is horrendous!!! Poor poor love. I def would get down to a&e if it gets too bad. You cannot not eat and it is no good for you or the baby/ies if you are in so much agony, you will not do yourself any favours sweetie. Get down there and get them to help you!! Xxx
