Went to pregnancy yoga yesterday and it was lovely. A bit stiff today but I think it's going to be really helpful. Pretty sure the baby was kicking me during the relaxation bit at the end. Ha ha. Lots of ladies at different stages of pregnancy, so did get a bit of bump envy.

Very jealous of those that can run. I've never been any good at that, so after running two 10Ks and hating every second, I gave up. Ha ha.

TheBooMonster · 02/11/2014 12:32

welcome cherry lovely to have you with us! How are you finding pregnancy this time round? I've got a DD who is 2 next month and I'm struggling a lot more with the sickness this time round (though I think at least some of it is stress related). The emotions thing I totally agree on, everything stresses me out and or makes me furious to the point of tearful rage!

kismac · 02/11/2014 12:39

Hi Cherry, yeah Im bored of being pregnant too. I got a pity invite to a Halloween party but I declined as don't want to deal with lots of drunk folk, which sucks. Im hoping the next 5 months fly by.

Oh Lauren, that doesn't sound good. I've had that a few times but only first things in the morning and it normally settles once I've eaten and drank something. Hopefully, it's only a short term problem.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/11/2014 14:03

I was one of those women but not through actively trying CherryLips1980 just got very sick then as soon as my babies got bigger I couldn't physically fit much food in!! Welcome to the thread. I'm trying to cherish this pregnancy as I'll never do it again!!

Lauren82000 · 02/11/2014 16:23

I can't make my mind up if this is the last baby for me. I do try and enjoy it incase it is the last but I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop and something to go wrong, so I'm not really enjoying it as much as my first pregnancy. Hmm

CherryLips1980 · 02/11/2014 19:14

Thank you for the welcome!

With DD I threw up all the way through, so only being sick once/twice a week is a novelty. Definitely more hormonal emotional.

I think this will be my last pregnancy, especially if this is a boy (at the moment, we don't intend to find out, we did with DD). If it's another girl, I think DP would be keen to try for another. I'm also terrified of something going wrong between now and April which I think is making it drag as well.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/11/2014 19:30

Dh didn't want ds2 but agreed quite happily as I only had one. This time I was genuinely upset by babies and pregnant ladies and although I didn't badger him he felt guilty and gave in. He will be 49 and have 4 children when this one arrives so I totally accept its my last. I do feel I'm pushing my luck after two good pregnancies and 2 healthy children but now I'm feeling this one move several times a day I feel more relaxed. Will feel much happier once I know all is well with 20wk scan :)

I've been to the Mamas and Papas outlet shop in Huddersfield today, they had some great bargains.
We bought the Moses basket for £30 reduced from £80, Ewan the dream sheep £7.50 instead of £30 because no packaging and a tummy play mat £10 reduced from £30.
They have another shop in Stoke on Trent if anyone is near.

kismac · 02/11/2014 20:35

MIL up visiting and she's just told me the reason I'm still being sick at 16 weeks is because I'm over eating. Eh...actually I have f#####g hyperemesis and that's the reason I'm being sick and signed off work. Took all my energy to not cry in front of her but as soon as she left the room i was hysterical. I hate being so stupidly emotional.

BrixtonBunny · 02/11/2014 20:44

Kismac what a horrible thing to say!! Poor you. I don't know what she was thinking... I'd be upset too! Sad

Can your DH talk to her about how unwell you are and explain that it's a very real and debilitating illness? Sending huge hugs xx Thanks

kis how insensitive, I'd have given her what for right there and then, and then cried in a heap in the floor!

DH insisted we did a spreadsheet in preparation for all of my baby spending and how we'll cope when I'm on maternity leave. I'm going back on an allowance because all of the frivolous spending on the account was courtesy of me, but in exchange I'm getting my MacBook tomorrow (if we can get the finance agreement for it) and all of my crazy baby purchases have been approved by DH (apart from the rocking chair that I avoided mentioning, if I can find it on gumtree I'll take it out of my allowance)

cinnamongreyhound · 02/11/2014 21:02

I think I would have cried and let her know just how much she'd hurt my feelings kismac, that's such a horrible thing to say :(

Has anyone got any old injuries that are playing them up? I broke 3 metatarsals in my left foot 2 years ago and it's hurting all the time at the moment :(

Hello everyone:)
feeling much better this week (fingers crossed lol) hope the rest of the ladies still feeling ill catch a break soon!
my 16w appointment went well..nice strong heart beat! Got my gender scan booked for Nov.14th!!! soo exciting/nervewracking! lol i soooo want a girl..but a boy may mean i get to try for a DC3 one day ;) haha..so i will be happy to see a healthy baby either way! Starting to feel little flutters and pokes..but no big kicks yet:p i think we must be getting close though! DS is sooo rough sometimes, i try and tell him he has to watch mummys belly and theres a baby in there, but at 19 weeks he cant seem to help it. Beautiful bumps to everyone who has shared lately!! :) Also welcome to the couple new people i noticed while catching up on posts!!!
Sorry about your MIL's rude comment kismac !!

Toucanet · 02/11/2014 22:36

Hi everyone, just joining here in addition to the miscarriage survivors list - 16 weeks today, fingers crossed. Hope those still sick see the back of it soon. (Feeling guilty for having no symptoms compared with those suffering (presuming bean is still ok though - will see mw on Thu)). However, it has put on a lot of weight the past 2 days - oh wait, that might be the leftover trick-or-treating sweets ;)

Never mind am going to start exercising this week. Gave up my only sporty/social/leisure activity 6 weeks ago due to risk of falling & not replaced it, really need to get moving again asap! Keep forgetting Kegels too.

Kismac hope your DH sympathises and can suggest she's a bit more considerate. Hope you can limit her visits if she's not more supportive.
Boo your planning sounds v sensible. We just have a vague idea there'll have to be cutbacks but no thorough thinking yet...just like exercise keep putting it off!

LadyNovember · 02/11/2014 23:02

TinyTear · 03/11/2014 06:45

dancestomyowntune · 03/11/2014 06:59

Hi ladies, haven't been on for a while. Been away to a dance festival over half term with my brood. Think it's been pushing me a bit far tbh. I'm so tired by about 3pm and very emotional.

Bump appears to be growing now and I'm feeling the odd movement but I have a funny feeling placenta is anterior because I haven't really felt as much as I remember in previous pregnancies, and the midwife thought it could be as she struggled to pick up the heartbeat at sixteen week app.

I can't wait for the 20week scan. So much to look forward to and I am desperate to know if this is going to be a boy or a girl. Having two of each it doesn't really matter but I hate the not knowing!!!

AnniaFausta · 03/11/2014 07:16

Oh kismac, you poor thing. Hope you feel better and that she has either gone or doesn't put her foot in her mouth again.

Hello and welcome to all the new ladies!

I think I've worked out that what's causing the massive headaches is, of all things, blood sugar crashes rather than swelling sinuses... really blooming weird as I can't seem to predict them, but they do come after very long days at work when I have lots of meetings in a row, so I guess I just need to keep snacking on days when I know that's what the diary looks like. Very odd as I've never had one of those before.

Sixteen week app this morning - not quite sure what to expect, but hopefully everything will go smoothly.

DH and I are having a 'design meeting' on Wednesday night to talk about what we want to do with the spare room and the nursery-to-be, given that the spare room might get turned into a nursery too in the next few years for DC2... he doesn't want to have to redecorate completely so soon after having it done once, especially as it'll need to be changed as soon as DC develops design preferences, and I'm adamant that I'm not leaving it in the state it's in! So we need to find a neutral middle ground where it can be converted without too much fuss.

My MiL confessed to me that she's being drawn into the baby clothes section of shops, any shops, at the moment, to the despair of my FiL - given that I've not looked at anything more than a few nursery design photos to think about colours, I'm quite amused!

MIL left this morning. She did write me a letter to apologise but im still really angry. Back to work today too after being off for 4 weeks, so im going to be a delight. Think I just take for granted that my parents are nurses, so don't say such ridiculous things.

Good to hear about the 16 week appointments. I've got mine on Wednesday.

Siarie · 03/11/2014 09:11

Anyone suffering with sinus headaches it's due to the increased blood, causing things to swell. I get them on and off, I've armed myself with paracetamol for the next one.

One week until my gender scan now, I think this month is going to go crazy fast. I've got loads tasks to do before going on holiday, all nice things (buying xmas presents) but still!

Still haven't got up yet today, having a nice lie in!

Well, 16 week appt went well - the midwife got the Doppler out and said she could hear the heartbeat, although I couldn't hear anything except swooshing! Still, everything seems to be going just fine. Now to wait until the 20 week scan.

yay Nunkie and Misty more gaming mums :o) I complete all of Fable 1,2 and 3 but since getting an xbox one for DH I haven't really played anything. I'm now hooked on those pathetic phone games like Candy Crush, Diamond Digger and my favourite Plants Vs Zombies ;)

Im 17 weeks today (i think, it keeps changing so i'm going with Mondays as a new week) and i'm sure i've felt the odd little flutter. I'm really looking forward to when DH will be able to feel them, any ideas roughly when this is anyone??

I'm convinced i'm having a boy, not sure why, although on both mine and his sides of the family girls out weigh boys in our generation 6:3 and 7:3. DH has forbidden finding out the sex on the grounds of he doesn't like "plot spoilers" Possibly stemming from when someone ruined Harry Potter by telling him dumbledor was dead before he'd finished reading it!
