Ahhh a lovely sunny holiday away, just not an option for us as money is tight as it is but hopefully we'll get a week away in the summer, albeit a cottage in cornwall or Pembrokeshire! !

Thought I'd share my bump with you all, I am being told im huge already by anyone with a voice, what do you think?

Evening everyone. Had a crappy day at work, we're mid restructure and I have been told out of the blue that as from Monday I will have a new role (which I don't want) and a new manager. This is the third time in 4 years this has happened to me and I'm sick of having to fight my way out of a job I hate into a job I like, only to be shoved somewhere else. Argh!

Anyway, a cheery end to this rubbish day was that my midwife came round to the house this evening and I have heard a wee heartbeat along with kicks and flips and the swooshing of the placenta. All very exciting!

So difficult to know when to finish for mat leave! DS1 was born at 36 weeks so am reluctant to finish any later than 35 just in case... But then if I go over 40 with this one I will be so bored and it will feel like a bit of a waste when I could gave spent that time with the baby. I am lucky enough though that I am able to take 12 months off and also will accrue 39 days holiday which I can carry over and tack onto the end of mat leave so I will get plenty of time at home and may well be desperate to get back to work! Although I doubt it given this new crap job situation. Ugh.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/10/2014 19:04

Well it's a lot bigger than mine lila35 but otherwise can't comment on your hugeness Wink

I think it's very common to go on holiday at 5-6montha pregnant Minstrelle. What are you usually like with heat? My friend went to South Africa when she was 6 months pregnant and had a wonderful time :)

Siarie · 27/10/2014 19:04

Minstrelle I'm going to Antigua in December for two weeks, I'll be around 20 weeks then. I don't have any previous experience but I did look up the best time before booking at lots of people go for holidays in the second trimester before they get to the uncomfy phase. I don't know how I'll fare but we opted for good flights and seats, also a nice resort with aircon in the rooms.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/10/2014 19:09

Sorry x post Berberana, sorry to hear about your crappy day and job restructuring. Hope it's not as bad as you think!

Rae25 · 27/10/2014 19:13

Hi
Just joining in I'm pretty new here this is my first and I'm 15 weeks today :)

berberana · 27/10/2014 19:17

Thanks Cinnamon - have a meeting with new manager but not til next Thurs. Hard to stay motivated work wise when all this is going on and I'm just thinking "roll on March"!!

berberana · 27/10/2014 19:18

Siarie, any room in your suitcase for me?! Wink

londonlivvy · 27/10/2014 19:23

banana I finished at 37 weeks and found the last week really hard from a commuting perspective. Generally speaking (I teach pregnancy yoga so see and hear from quite a few mums to be) people who have long commutes find the commute the hardest bit, so is there any way you could work from home one or two days a week?

Lindalove · 27/10/2014 19:31

Find attached I hope my bump pic! 17 weeks and a few days. It's quite neat I think

BananaToast · 27/10/2014 19:48

berberana that sounds really stressful, hope you manage to get something sorted out.

Rae - welcome! I'm also 15 weeks today Grin

londonlivvy my commute is about 45 minutes but I always get a seat and it's fairly easy without much walking either end so I'm hoping it won't be too awful. I could probably work from home a bit if needed though, my job is fairly flexible.

Loving everyone's bump pics, will wait until mine makes a proper appearance before posting one of my own! At the moment it's only teeny and mainly only there in the evenings. I'm hoping to come back from my holiday with a proper one - I'll be 18 weeks when we get back.

All the bump pics are great. Not sure I feel brave enough to share yet but will soon. I've started reading the scary labour section in my book. Eek. Ha ha.

lila35 · 27/10/2014 21:43

Look how lovely and neat your bumps are?!?! Ah well if I'm destined to be the size of a house so be it Grin

Lindalove · 28/10/2014 07:29

I can I think feel kicks now! It's like 'twanging' in there.

We're not off on hols before baby is born as we're getting a new bathroom fitted instead. Next year we're already booked for Womad music festival and 10 days in Spain with baby however! :)

TinyTear · 28/10/2014 07:45

Last time my bump started looking like a bump only after 20w... i still look fat... DH said he would hesitate to give me a seat on the tube unless i had the badge (I do wear the badge)

GTT today... starving!!

BananaToast · 28/10/2014 08:41

After saying my bump couldn't really be seen I've woken up this morning looking much rounder! Thankfully it's still not obvious in normal clothes so I can get away with wearing my jeans for a while longer yet, but it's nice to see evidence that something is happening in there!

Where does your uterus reach now? Mine is about 2 cm away from the bottom of my bellybutton. I think that's quite high considering I'm only 14+6. Thought it was supposed to be in line with belly button at 20weeks. But at the rate mine is growing (seems to be around a cm in less than a fortnight) think mine is going to be higher than that by then.

This one might end up being a big baby. Eek!! DD was only 6lb 15&1/2oz at 42weeks.

Wow that's tiny Lauren82000! I'd really like a dainty one, not for giving birth but for afterwards I've never had a tiny baby! My midwife told me I was measuring two weeks bigger than I am at my 16wk appt so guess it is possible. I've found several of these pictures by googling, all seem pretty similar.

cinnamongreyhound · 28/10/2014 10:23

Just scroll down a few post to see the picture :)

sazzle82G · 28/10/2014 10:35

How can you tell where your uterus is? Mine all just feels either flabby or a bit harder by the evening. All over though, not in one place.

Been having some funny pains last night. First I reckon just indigestion, all my food seems to sit at the top of my belly, not comfortable, then a slight dull ache near my pelvis. I'm hoping things are just stretching about.

cinnamongreyhound · 28/10/2014 14:16

Lay down and you can feel the firmness of it and then just follow it up. Mine is pretty much as my belly button now. Is the full ache in your pubic bone or above Sazzle82G?
