Yes Sairie, they are!! Even people you hardly know will touch you :( you become public property when pregnant and everyone will comment on how big/small you look too! My friend rushed to her midwife because said people worried her by saying how small she was :(

I usually get next stuff in their sales and mine are older so clothes last longer Grin

ChickenMe · 23/10/2014 13:30

@Siarie I don't mind friends and family - basically if I like you, you can touch! Luckily we will be big when it's cold so we will be covered up and might just be thought of as fat Grin so people might leave alone! I'd hate a stranger to touch although I'd probably tolerate an old person.
@Lauren I had my large bleed after DTD. Now we are too scared to DTD again!! Im sure it aggravates things!

LadyNovember · 23/10/2014 13:31

Had my 16 week appointment today (although I'm 14 weeks ha) was fine, they didn't do much really just ran through my blood results and checked my BP and urine. All good.

They attempted to do another blood test as Im often low on b12 and they wanted to check it, but couldn't find a vein, boo! I always have that trouble! Trip to the path lab for me later!

Congrats on your scan Lauren! X

LadyNovember · 23/10/2014 13:32

Oh and my mum bought me some maternity jeans yesterday, I tried them on (oh so comfy btw!!) but my god did I look pregnant! Is that normal at 14 weeks or am I just a fat cow Grin my mum said she always started showing around 12 weeks.

Siarie · 23/10/2014 13:39

Lady how come they did your 16 week at 14 weeks? Xx

Siarie · 23/10/2014 13:40

Oh and don't worry I look pregnant and I'm only 13+3 I'll take a picture later, it's mad.

LadyNovember · 23/10/2014 13:56

Because according to my lmp I'm 16 weeks but not according to scan. I phoned them to change it and they said as long as my NT results were in it was fine. Dont see them now til 8th Jan! I'll try and add a pic too.

londonlivvy · 23/10/2014 14:20

Had 16 week appt today which was a bit of a let down. Waited 90 mins for five min apt and about 5 secs of hearing HB. 20 week scan not until 21 weeks, sadly (availability) so no excitement now for a while. Sadly though my consultant is dashing and LOVELY, it is a PITA having to go to the hospital for appointments as there’s always such long delays and the parking is a nightmare. So I’m glad to have been referred back to the MW as low risk. BTW I can’t remember who else had this (cervix issues) but basically AFAIK, unless you had LOADS of your cervix chopped out, you’ll probably be fine and won’t need a stitch. And it’s unlikely that you had loads chopped out if you had a day operation under local anaesthetic (in the UK). This is why I got referred as my operation was in Belgium and I was given a general and the UK therefore assumed it was a bigger operation than it was (but it’s just standard practice over there). Having a stitch is not quite as simple as it sounds (quite a few restrictions) so best if you can avoid. I hope you can.

On the downside, I had the shakes and the wobbles on sight of the hospital again. I had such a horrible time last time I have the fear. Oof. No idea how I’m supposed to get my head round this before this one arrives.

On a lighter note, we are going to redo DD’s bedroom before the baby comes, any ideas of nice retailers for curtains and lights etc? Tried john lewis and laura Ashley and next and wasn’t keen on any of them. I don’t want to go peppa or whatever – I want it to last a good few years, so going subtle rather than in your face.

LadyNovember I was wearing maternity trousers last time round by then – and yes, they are so comfy!
Glad your scan went ok Lauren and very impressed you agreed to DTD at 4.30am.
Sairie I never had any strangers touch my bump – perhaps I give off a scary vibe? Though I did have a client do it which was very odd “oooh I loved it when my wife was pregnant” he said. ALSO I did get wolf whistled a fair bit last time which was disconcerting.
Misty I hope they’ve sorted out your credit card now. Most annoying.
Minipie I shall bang on again about how awesome my Phil and Ted’s is, and also about how very cheap they are on ebay. Full sets regularly for 50 quid.

Right – sorry for epic post. Must pack. Off to parents.
16+1

LadyNovember · 23/10/2014 14:28

Pretty sure it's all poo, wind and cheeseburgers Grin

Lauren82000 · 23/10/2014 14:46

Mines a bit like that LadyNovember. A cute little bump at the front, mine varies in size depending on when I last went to the loo (number 1 &/or 2) and when I last ate. Much bigger than I was last time, I'm still very much convinced its just everything squished in there.

Although when I was on the scan bed yesterday the angle I was at gave me a little raised bump which isn't there when I lie flat.

docpeppa · 23/10/2014 16:22

Thanks for the new thread, love the title. Hopefully I will start glowing soon, I've looked completely washed out and zombified the past three months! Grin

I am 14 weeks tomorrow, I'm starting to show a bit. Going to get maternity bras for my huge melons this weekend, they are so painful still.

mamabear0315 · 23/10/2014 17:00

Hello everyone!
Beautiful bump LadyNovember !! :)
ughh i hear ya docpeppa still no glowing going on over here either...lol
Today is the lunch date with the MIL..yay me :( lol
It def isn't that I don't like her! She is a wonderful woman..I just am not one for forcing myself to go visit people unless i really want to..I love that she loves my son so much but...we have some trust issues stemming back from when we were pregnant with him (she told her whole side of the family that my fiance..her son.. has major anxiety and depression issues and somebody thought that meant they needed to call child services and make up a bunch of bull shit..like i was using drugs pregnant(DEF was NOT) and that I wasn't getting prenatal care(I DEF WAS lol) so after 6 months of them "investigating" me and deciding it was just a malicious call..we still haven't gotten an apology..so there are just some bitter feelings that I still can't seem to shake...and my hubby won;t even bother talking to her.. ohh isn't family fun :P lol

Lovely bump LadyNovember! I'm just starting to notice a hint of one but it's not really noticeable with clothes on.

I had my NIPT results through today - highly unlikely to be affected by any of the three trisomies tested! Such a huge relief, I feel like I can finally start to relax. I asked about the sex but they didn't have the info. I had guessed they might not aaas it's being done as part of a study in the NHS rather than done privately. I don't care though, happy to wait to find out now I know baby is healthy Grin

kismac · 23/10/2014 17:35

Lovely bump Lady. I can't wait for mine to get a bit bigger as I just feel fat at the moment. Had to buy a maternity swimming costume today as it was a squeeze getting into my normal one. Hoping start aqua fit in the next few weeks. I will be a healthy pregnancy lady. Ha ha.

Full of the cold so I've got snot and vomit coming out of me. Im so disgusting.

IvegotaCaveTroll · 23/10/2014 17:53

I do not like people touching me full stop siarie.
I think if anyone grabs me I'll lamp them!

LadyNovember · 23/10/2014 18:09

That's what's making me suspicious that it's not actually baby Squatting..it is rather high! I can't wait to see everyone's bump pictures to see all the different sizes and shapes. Once we're further along I think they tend to look samey..so it's really interesting to see how it looks on people over the next few weeks!

Yay for great results banana! Now relax and enjoy your bambino! Do you have any inkling if it's a boy or girl? :-)

BananaToast · 23/10/2014 18:19

I was convinced it was a boy from the start but think the nub on my scan pic looks girly so I have absolutely no clue! Happy either way just excited to find out.

I am with you all on the touching - nobody has tried yet as there isn't anything obvious to touch but think I'll find any uninvited touching very uncomfortable!

LadyNovember · 23/10/2014 18:21

I'm excited too! Can't wait to start buying stuff! I've a feeling I'm having a boy...nub not visible on scan :(

No boys in the group yet! Wonder who'll be the first :)

BananaToast · 23/10/2014 18:35

I'll be one of the last to find out I think - scan isn't til 12th Dec so I've got ages to wait! I was v happy to see a good nub on my scan photo so I could obsess about it, but looking at examples of confirmed nub photos I get so many wrong that it's pretty meaningless!

14+3

Lauren82000 · 23/10/2014 18:52

I couldn't see anything on my scan photo. I reckon mines a girl just based on the odds and being from a big girl family but I have a small inkling this one might be a boy but I had that feeling with DD and she is definitely not a boy. Grin So I just tend to ignore any inklings as I'm sure they will be wrong either way.

Haha Lauren that's exactly how I feel with my inklings!

That's rubbish Misty - not what you need at all. At least you will get it evened out before xmas, not sure how much that will help you this month though.

Think of it as savings Misty414!!

I don't have a bump but my loose skin on my belly is a bit less loose!

Maybe I'm just unusual that people touched me, I don't like being touched by people I'm not comfortable with although im very touchy feely with people close to me.

I don't really have a clue with sex, I think because I have two boys I'm assuming boy but don't have a feeling either way. I know people who knew very early what they were having with all babies. My scan is 20th nov so 4 weeks today :)
