Cinnamon I was quite similar with stretch marks I was about a stone heavier when I was 16-17 I must of put it on quickly as I have a few stretch marks on my thighs. But they are now very faint white marks.

Didn't get any last pregnancy and so far none this time either.
The mw did say to me you either have the skin that will do it it you don't no amount of lotions and potions will stop it.

minipie · 22/10/2014 14:46

Tiny that might work - I guess it depends on how cooperative she is! (At the moment she is very keen on "running away" Hmm) so I need the option of strapping her in the buggy but she may grow out of that, let's hope so)

I've also heard stretch marks are all down to your skin and no creams will help. Although I have heard people say Bio Oil works to fade them a bit if you do get them (but it doesn't help prevent them in the first place iyswim).

Scan was good. Little one was stretching like a cat in a sunbeam, so got good view of spine. Saw fingers and toes too so it has 2 arms and 2 legs. (Always a bit worrying that one)

Placenta is at the front so there goes my alien movements later on Hmm and chances are I won't feel much which is poo but I'll get over it.

Haematoma still isn't quite gone so I'm sure to have some more spotting at some point. It did take him a minute to find it so it must be nearly almost gone. (Fingers crossed)

Very exciting we can tell the rest of the family now and I can make my 16w appointment. Smile

JaneyTea · 22/10/2014 16:03

Yay! So pleased to hear that you had a good scan Lauren82000 Grin

mamabear0315 · 22/10/2014 16:12

Congrats on your good scan Lauren ! :) & also the other few who have had more recent scans..congrats to you all as well :)
One more week until my 16w appointment! Still have the sinus headache..ugh! Also, relieved to hear I am not the only one with bad lower back pain!..was starting to worry me!
Now I am gaining weight like crazy! (hard to believe I lost weight first in the beginning actually lol) Wasn't this big with DS until maybe 20-25 weeks :/ lol
I think I have been feeling small movements too!! :D just little poking feelings kind of but that is how I remember them starting with DS!
Scheduled lunch tomorrow with MIL as we haven't seen her since April and I know she is dying to visit DS..(my hubby works long, hard hours so he cant be bothered on his days off..and I just feel bad because she is a very clingy/emotional lady who I can just tell is taking our lack of visits much more personal than they are)...so lucky me I have taken it upon myself ! lol
ALso, going way back to your post cavetroll ...Put your foot down now or it will be harder later!! With DS my parents hated the name I had originally picked (so me being the pushover that I am I changed it :/)..then they squeezed their way into the delivery room (both of them..wtf!! :/) when I had specifically asked them not to..and now they don't follow any of my rules with DS which makes me want to completely snap..they don't respect me as an adult..and since I have let it go on so long (18 mths!!) ..now I struggle trying to change things every day!!

TheBooMonster · 22/10/2014 16:34

I didn't get any stretch marks till everything was shrinking back down after birth, and my poor boobs were stretch mark heaven, they took over once I had DD, pretty much the day after we got out of hospital I demanded to go bra shopping then all but passed out in mothercare because the only thing that vaguely fit were the non-cupped sleep bra's. It's taken almost two years but the stretch marks are mostly gone, or at least white rather than angry red, just in time to get more!

DH has picked up the bug FiL has been suffering with since last week, and I keep having to banish him back to the bedroom because he keeps touching things in the kitchen, he tried to drink from Lexie's new cup and I almost bludgeoned him with it! He's now sat at his computer, and I'm wondering why work sent him home because he seems plenty capable of sitting at a computer to me unimpressed face

Good news Lauren82000!

Had my apt and all ok, blood all came back fine, no midwife until 21st jan :) I mentioned my concerns over movements and she said I could have an anterior placenta so get them to check at the scan, she said not to worry until I get to 24 weeks and if I'm not feeling regular movements then to call the midwife as I don't get a 24wk apt. She then checked hb and said wow, I'm surprised you're not feeling anything as you're already measuring 18wks and that's a good strong hb. Happy that all is well although id really rather not have another huge baby!! Has anyone else got their growth chart now? Mine is personalised for what is normal for me and takes and average of my two babies birth weights, so hopefully I won't feel too freakish this time!!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/10/2014 18:32

X posts Misty414, that sucks! Hope they sort it out for you soon :(

Lauren82000 · 22/10/2014 18:44

Oh no cinnamon what a nightmare.

Wow your like a whole 4 weeks ahead of me.

Lauren82000 · 22/10/2014 18:53

Oops wrong person meant to say that to Misty. What is wrong with my brain.

Good choice Misty
I love my Vista!

dancestomyowntune · 22/10/2014 19:03

16 week midwife appointment tomorrow. Feeling nervous and not really sure why.

IvegotaCaveTroll · 22/10/2014 19:11

Thanks for ur advicemamabear - u are correct! Still not talked to my mum since I put the phone down but that's ok. Anything that gets said now I'm gonna nip in the bud. And I will not be confiding anything the can be used against me later!
If she wants to move down to be near grandchild (or even her own daughter) I won't stop her but she will need to move nearer. She says she's also moving to see her old friends but she never had any as she'd love them for a bit and then they'd offend her and that would be it!!
This is not her fourth chance with a child- it's my first!

Anyone with headaches- mild/moderate headaches can be more common in pregnancy. Paracetamol is generally ok but see ur gp if ur needing loads or it's getting persistent and check ur gp is happy for u to take it.
If u ever get a more severe or sudden onset headache especially if you get vision changes or other symptoms u should ring maternity assessment or go to a and e.
If u get headaches and u don't normally- see ur gp. Most headaches mean very little but occasionally more serious things can occur- so severe/unusual
headaches need assessment!!

ohh I am hoping to get away with only a handful of stretch marks, I have the biggest tub ever of coconut oil and al slapping it on like theres no tomorrow, I'm a little sad to think if I'm going to get them anyway all this effort could be for nothing Wink

I've had the flu jab this week and checked out my headaches with the gp, he didn't seem to concerned after checking my eyes and bp. I also have some problems with my neck all muscular so think that might have something to do with it, I saw my physio yesterday and she gave it a good going over and haven't had a headache today...yay!

Fabulous scan news for everyone!!

Siarie · 23/10/2014 09:21

Oh my! I've stumbled onto the baby clothes section on NEXT, seriously cute stuff! I announced my pregnancy on FB with a Winnie the pooh quote and they have a Winnie the Pooh range!

cinnamongreyhound · 23/10/2014 09:32

I love next kids clothes! I think the girls gets too grown up too early but otherwise its all lovely. I tried to get a few babygros but in store everything was pink or blue with a few white bits and I really don't want white.

Lauren82000 · 23/10/2014 09:48

I agree Next clothes are nice but DD only has them if someone else buys them for her. I refuse to spend that much money on clothes that will last her 2 seconds. She usually has Tesco or Asda clothes simply because she can't have anything nice, proper messy little girl, always has been.

I'd just buy cheap baby grows as poo explosions and later on baby food stains everything! Don't even get me onto people who dress their babies in jeans. Its just plain cruel!

TinyTear · 23/10/2014 10:07

You can get great bundles of Next clothes on ebay... ebay is my friend for baby clothes

Sainsbury's stuff is really nice as well, and Primark, of course... My DD adores her snowman leggings from last christmas from Primark which still fit her

minipie · 23/10/2014 10:34

Glad your scan went well Lauren! I had anterior placenta last time (and again this time) and still got plenty of kicks and weird alient movements - just a bit later (about 21 weeks) and less strongly. Not actually such a bad thing as it meant I never got woken in the night by kicks...

Oooh baby clothes. I don't know if I can justify buying many clothes as have got quite a lot stored from DD and this one's a girl too... Although it is the opposite season so maybe!! Also I borrowed lots of 3-6 and 6-9 month stuff for DD so not sure how much I've actually got in those ages.

Siarie · 23/10/2014 11:02

How does everyone feel about people touching their bumps? I've only had one person other than my DH do it so far (MIL). Who has done it pretty much from 5 weeks! I don't like people touching my stomach. I don't even like DH touching it really.

Are random strangers going to start doing it?!

dancestomyowntune · 23/10/2014 11:27

Oh dear Lauren! Dd1 had a really cut pair of jeans when she was tiny. In fact, I liked them so much that she had them in two sizes!!! They were fully lined and so soft though. Mothercare ones if I remember correctly! And they had poppers for ease of nappy changes.

Funnily enough though, now she is almost 12 and won't wear jeans at all! She has one pair of Jeggings but proper jeans are a no go!!!

Lauren82000 · 23/10/2014 12:05

Well the haematoma is draining again. Got more red/brown blood this morning although I wonder if it was set off by dtd last night?
DH woke me up about 4.30 and said I'm horny. It has been about 2 weeks since we last dtd so thought might as well. Then I wished I hadn't as it took me an hour to fall asleep and just as I was nodding off DD woke up telling me it was morning time and her clock was yellow. (She has a Gro clock) Cheeky bugger had changed it herself as I set it for 6.30 not 5.30!
