jazzyjenbo · 13/10/2014 12:29

HariboBrenshnio · 13/10/2014 12:39

I'm currently in the process of getting my care transferred to 'One to One midwives', has anyone heard of them? They are only in the north west at the moment and a little in Yorkshire.

Basically i'll get the same midwife all the way through from the beginning to birth (hopefully a home birth but if not they support you in hospital!), they come to your home (don't have to chase a 1 year old round a waiting rooms!), all the scans are at their smaller clinics (no waiting around in hospitals with 1 year old!) and (the biggy for me!) they come to see you every few days up to 6 weeks postpartum and focus on breastfeeding support. It's NHS funded and totally free.

I need to get a GP referral though as i'm less than 12 weeks (after 12 weeks i can just go straight to them) so fingers crossed my GP will do it for me on Wednesday and i can finally get a scan date!

Tits fantastic news, so pleased for you - you must be feeling amazing.
foetus i have my fingers and toes crossed that your's also brings good news.

HariboBrenshnio · 13/10/2014 12:40

Tori sorry!

Ameilius · 13/10/2014 12:45

Everything crossed for you foetus, really hope it goes well!

Brilliant news tori! Love that 'tripling in size' makes it sound huge when we still really only talking about it being a couple of cm's long.. When I read on the week-by-week What To Expect app it always sounds like so much is happening and yet in such a tiny little thing... Grin

Thanks for making the spreadsheet kitty I'm just trying to add myself now..

I'm feeling much better today, and yesterday had much first day of not throwing up in weeks! I think there's light at the end of the tunnel. Smile

speedbird17 · 13/10/2014 12:45

Good luck to all those having scans! Presume as pg with DD was straight forward will only have the two scans at 12 and 20 weeks, not a hope in hell of affording anything extra so we shall wait and keep every tiny little thing crossed to see what will be!

My mc was picked up at my 12 week scan last November after it stopped growing at 5+6 so really hoping for a happy healthy baby this time!

Hi ladies. Good luck foetus!

And that's great news tori, so pleased for u.

Is it normal to worry that I didn't wake up to pee last night? It's the first time I've slept through since finding out now I'm worrying something's up? Or am I just being ridiculous and may have just not drank enough yesterday? Waiting 12 weeks for a scan is cruel I think I think we should have them at 8,12 and 20! I did have one at 6 weeks and all was ok but that was 3 weeks ago now!........I am being ridiculous! Hmm

Sunshinesaz86 · 13/10/2014 13:17

I've just googled and I am just being ridiculous it does say that your bladder can learn to cope better nearer 2nd trimester but doesn't last long. I'll put it down to that and be grateful I had a good night sleep for a change! Grin

speedbird17 · 13/10/2014 13:21

Tori resources here in Somerset are few and far between and MW said she didn't need to see me until booking so I have accepted that - would hate to clog up the system just because I'm a bit worried even though I have no reason iyswim...

Seeing the midwife on Wednesday anyway so will likely ask her all the troublesome queries on my mind!

mumxof3x · 13/10/2014 13:56

Thats wonderful tori :)

Hope everything went ok foetus xx

plinkyplonks · 13/10/2014 14:02

Hi everyone. Had my first scan today, dates me 8+2. So relieved, maybe it will be 3rd time lucky. Got me a lovely jelly bean baby.

feotus hope it went okay.

Mslad · 13/10/2014 16:42

Great news Ginger!! Smile I can't concentrate on work at all with thinking about my scan tomorrow. Could you see much at 8+2?

Thinking of you feotus

Gingerbreadlady1 · 13/10/2014 16:52

Yours is tomorrow mslad? Good luck, thinking of everyone with scans this week. It was surprising how much you could see!

May 2015: Thread 3 - Let's do this :)
jazzyjenbo · 13/10/2014 16:54

Fab news ginger, was 8+ what you thought u should be dating as? I've got mine tomorrow and am scared to death. Should be 8 weeks according to lmp but 2 weeks ago was dating at 4-5weeks, but all looked normal.

Mslad · 13/10/2014 16:59

ooh thats a great picture Ginger- I'm so happy for you!

Jazzy lets hold hands for tomorrow, I'm scared to death too!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 13/10/2014 17:01

Yup jazzy, by lmp I should be 9+2 but knew I'd ovulated on cd21 so was expecting bean to be smaller than expected. So all spot on but also a week out like you. Good luck good luck good luck, it is scary but we need to go through this.

jazzyjenbo · 13/10/2014 17:19

What time is your scan mslad? Mines at 10:30. My symptoms are looking positive this time so just hoping to see the bean. Think i oved on cd 15/16 and implant cd21 of 31 day cycle, both of my successful pregnancies ive been put back a week so yes handholding is def needed, i'm going by myself aswell.
Can't see the scan but will get onto desktop site in a little while x

Mslad · 13/10/2014 17:29

I'm at 12.30 Jazzy that's good to hear that you were put back a week in successful pregnancies- it gives hope if we're put back tomorrow. Sorry to hear you'll be by yourself, but we'll all be thinking of you x

Turquoisetamborine · 13/10/2014 17:30

Good luck for the upcoming scans and great news for the ones who have already been. Hope things went well Foetus xx

KittyVonCatsington · 13/10/2014 18:13

All sorted Hailly! Grin

Great idea plinky Some Cake to say thank you!

Really positive news on the growth Tori - big hugs!

8+2 is really positive Ginger As LMP can be so out - so happy things are more positive than before. We can do it!!! Loving that scan pic, so cute!

foetus How are you and little bean, my lovely? Xx

Good luck for tomorrow's scans MsLad and jazzy!

Am munching on some nuts-aren't I good?!

Titsalinabumsquash · 13/10/2014 18:17

I've taken to "balancing" my snacking, it's a case of Apple in one hand and a bag of crisps in the other Grin
DP always has a little smile to himself when he sees me coming up to bed with my night time supplies of bread/fruit/nuts/milkshake.

I've actually been productive for the first time in weeks today, I've floored my new larder and covered the shelving in there and then filled it with food! Shock
