Kitty they're lovely scan pictures, congratulations! I'm going with girl too!!

Snooky17 · 22/10/2014 14:54

Congrats Kitty, this reminds me to start saving £1 coins for 12 week scan pics, £4 a picture at my hospital

piglet81 · 22/10/2014 15:04

Ooh, that's a good point - I never got a letter from the hospital about my scan so I have no idea how much they charge for pics and don't fancy ringing up again after spending half of yesterday on hold trying to confirm my appointment! Do charges vary a lot, those of you with experience? (I'm at Lewisham hospital, in case anyone knows it!)

mumxof3x · 22/10/2014 15:43

Mine is 2 pound a picture or 3 for 5 pound xx

Titsalinabumsquash · 22/10/2014 16:02

Free at ours! Smile

We broke the news today, so glad I don't need to hide it anymore.

KittyVonCatsington · 22/10/2014 16:22

Thanks for all the messages Grin Sonographer think's it's a girl! Obviously to be confirmed by 20 week scan and then birth Wink

piglet You are close to me! I'm at the Queen Elizabeth up the road. I did go to the Lewisham EPU for my m/c back in February and if I remember correctly, they had a box that you put money in and got vouchers. £2 each pic I think. Could very well have changed since then! I was going to ask to give birth at Lewisham as they have such a fantastic Birth Centre and so many of my friends have given birth there inc a close friend at the start of October! However, QE are opening a new Birth Centre in January so going to give that a go.

bradders85 · 22/10/2014 16:35

congrats on the scan kitty I would say girl too :-)

2preteendramaqueens · 22/10/2014 16:40

Hello ladies sorry for not posting in a while iv been lurking Wink
Congratulations on all the scans I'm slightly jealous as iv got to wait till 3 nov Hmm when I will be 12 +6
Iv not been sick in 5 days which is a record for me iv not been taking the anti sick meds or wearing my travel bands Smile I'm hoping my little bean I'd still growing and it's just the start of a enjoyable pregnancy
Iv had period type pains in my lower stomach and back today but hoping it's just growing pains

Jenni2legs · 22/10/2014 17:48

Is anyone thinking of cloth nappying? I have started to look into it and there are so many types!

Sunshinesaz86 · 22/10/2014 17:57

Kitty your scan pics are fab! So pleased for u! So clear too!

I told my regional manager today I asked to see him next week as scan is a week Monday, and he turned up this afternoon, he must of panicked thinking I was going to hand my notice in or something! Anyway he was really good and said not to worry about who's going to cover my office and we've got time to sort it so positive! I said about taking my holiday entitlement prior to my mat so would mean 4 weeks off before EDD and he suggested 2 weeks before or after? Or coming back 3 days a week when returning but that would mean me rolling hols over and having about 35-40 days in one yr?? Anyway lots of time to plan it I guess! Just glad it's out the way! Not telling my staff/colleagues till scan day now though!

KittyVonCatsington · 22/10/2014 18:26

Feels nice when you've told your boss and that's out of the way Sunshine isn't it?!

2pretend -yes, I've still had on and off AF type back pains. In fact last night it graduated to constant electric shock twinges in my vagina region-thanks baby!!! Grin

I haven't thought of cloth napping jenni - was probably just going to go with Pampers Blush Probably should do some research!!

longestlurkerever · 22/10/2014 18:30

Hello everyone. I had another good scan today. Am now 8.5 weeks and it is starting to look baby shaped. Am also well past the point at which my last pregnancies have gone wrong so starting to get bit exciting! 12 weeks still seems an eternity away though. Is anyone else due at the very end of may? And where is everyone based? I am in beibg seen by st Mary's (specialists in recurrent miscarriage) in Paddington at the mo. All being well I wwill transfer to the whittington at 12 weeks.

jenni I used cloth nappies with dd. I used bum genius. Stupid name but they were great. I had a couple of another brand but didn't get on with them.

longestlurkerever · 22/10/2014 18:32

Sorry, somehow deleted the bit that said I was in North London. I don't expect everyone to know where the whittington is!

BeanCalledPickle · 22/10/2014 18:37

Glad to see there are London Ladies on here:-) my previous mumsnet group met up in john Lewis in Oxford street post babies which was lovely!

BeanCalledPickle · 22/10/2014 18:39

I'm Barnet longest. I live here and that will be my hospital. Where are you?

Justyouwaitandsee · 22/10/2014 18:42

Aww amazing pics Kitty! Your pics look like how ours looked on the screen, but pics aren't quite so clear.

Welcome longestlurker - so pleased that little bean is hanging on it there!

I told my manager today - just in time before my director asked her outright if I was, as apparently there was some speculation rumbling in the team. Ended up telling most of the office and had a great chat with our hr director, who was really positive and lovely. Feels very good now people know, can start wearing all dresses which make my bump look obvious again! Smile

Sunshinesaz86 · 22/10/2014 18:42

Yes kitty in so glad that's out the way. Not worried about telling anyone now as everyone else will be pleased. Just keeling FX that all is as it should be at 12 week scan now. Symptoms have really eased, bar constipation (tmi but lots of CM) hoping that's all normal. Roll on the 3rd. Ps anyone got a real visible bump/bloat? I've had to buy flowy shirts for work as it's already so obvious I'm usually 8-10 in tops and 10 in pants and had to buy 12 pants already and tops to disguise it. I'm only 10 +4!

Congrats on your scan longest glad bean was all ok.

2pretend I had stomach pains constantly for the first 7 weeks and was taking paracetamol daily. Scan at 6 weeks showed healthy bean but still get them from time to time. And kitty I've also experienced lightening vag! Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 22/10/2014 18:43

I was born at the Whittington longest Grin I grew up in Muswell Hill!

longestlurkerever · 22/10/2014 18:48

Finsbury Park, bean. Pretty close to where you grew up, kitty. I go to mh quite regularly and dd was born at the whittington too.

KittyVonCatsington · 22/10/2014 18:51

I was dragged kicking and screaming south of the river by my husband, where he grew up Wink

2preteendramaqueens · 22/10/2014 18:52

Thank you ladies I was beginning to worry .
Iv had to tell my work at the beginning as I work in a warehouse / shop so I lift a lot of heavy items and was being very sick so I told them before the rumours started .
Im from Hertfordshire Smile

BeanCalledPickle · 22/10/2014 18:52

I do not understand South of the river. It makes absolutely no sense to me!

Turquoisetamborine · 22/10/2014 18:53

Lovely scan Kitty. They've really improved since I last had a scan 6 years ago. Mine was crap then.

I'm in County Durham which I don't expect anyone else to be anywhere near as is generally true on MN.

Titsalinabumsquash · 22/10/2014 18:56

I'm West Sussex, there is never any Mumsnetters near me!

longestlurkerever · 22/10/2014 18:57

Ps sounds a bit unprofessional of your colleagues just. Glad your hr director was good.
