I know bean - bloody awful public transport, hee Hee!!

The scanning equipment was much more advanced than even in the EPU, if I'm honest Turquoise - we had two flat screen monitors to watch from!

My sister lives in Letchworth 2pretend so will probably spend a lot of my maternity leave there

longestlurkerever · 22/10/2014 18:59

I have a new boss just started this week. Wondering about telling him in our introductory chat tomorrow, mainly because I am having so many appointments and in case anything goes wrong. My last boss was very supportive. But is it strange to confide in him at our first meeting?

Turquoisetamborine · 22/10/2014 19:00

Well you got some great shots Kitty. I'll be going for a Baby Bond 4d scan later on if my NHS ones are rubbish as this will be my last baby.

On the subject of cloth nappies, no way am I using them. I just couldn't be arsed to be honest. I had enough washing as it is last time. Hats off to those who do though.

lumpyparcel · 22/10/2014 19:01

I'm from Lincoln and absolutely dreading giving birth in the hospital here. Been some bad news floating around it recently.

I wanted to look into cloth nappies but DP is appalled by the idea of them and he will only use boots as that's what dss used (eye roll)

Sad day today, lost a family member and hormones have made me weepy all day. Ate a whole packet of cocktail sausages for comfort!

longestlurkerever · 22/10/2014 19:04

Sorry to hear that lumpy xx

BeanCalledPickle · 22/10/2014 19:15

Ha, my mum in letchworth so we also spend time there:-)

BeanCalledPickle · 22/10/2014 19:17

As far as 'bad' hospitals go I think you generally hear the very good and the very bad and little about those who pass through with no issues and nothing exceptional. The worst thing that happened to me was having pubic hair hacked off pre surgery and it still being on my blanket on return. Grim. But not earth shattering. I hated the ward but that's pretty standard I think!

lumpyparcel · 22/10/2014 19:22

Grim indeed Bean!

More than likely being irrational! I've got friends whos babies were all born there with no problems but when I hear the horror stories I panic!

KittyVonCatsington · 22/10/2014 19:31

lumpy so sorry for your bad news - hope you are getting lots of support xx

Might bump no pun intended! into you there bean!

I agree it will be uncomfortable longest but best new manager knows so can help keep you and baby safe!

piglet81 · 22/10/2014 19:45

Kitty hello neighbour! The birth centre does look good.
lumpy so sorry for your loss.
Hope everyone's getting on OK today. I'm so tired - roll on the weekend! Smile

lumpyparcel · 22/10/2014 19:50

Thank you everyone. DP has given me cuddles and been talking to family all day so I'm doing alright. Just hope the sickness allows me the time off to travel to them without causing a scene!

mumxof3x · 22/10/2014 19:56

Sorry to hear about your loss lumpy xx

2preteendramaqueens · 22/10/2014 19:58

Kitty and bean live 10 mins down the road from letchworth Smile

BeanCalledPickle · 22/10/2014 20:09

I am looking forward to our letchworth meet up then!! :-)

mrsdiddlydoo · 22/10/2014 20:48

Jenni and lumpy... Good place to start with cloth nappies are local nappy libraries. Sounds gross but isn't. Get on google to see if there are any near you. I borrowed a kit for free from my local one to help me make my mind up. Have never looked back. Use little lambs, baba and boo, bumgenius and eBay cheapies.

mrsdiddlydoo · 22/10/2014 20:50

Love hearing about everyone's scans. Hang on in there to those still waiting. Booking in appointment finally tomorrow...

Fluffeh · 22/10/2014 20:58

I love dds cloth nappies! They are eBay cheapies but oh so pretty.
I'll be using them on this baby too.
Lumpy - sorry to hear of your loss xx

MrsS010814 · 22/10/2014 21:04

Turquoise- I'm from Newcastle so not too far from you! When are you due?

Turquoisetamborine · 22/10/2014 21:11

Hi MrsS, I'm due 14th May. What about you? Will you go to the RVI or QE? I'll be at UHND again as no other choice due to c section.

MrsS010814 · 22/10/2014 21:39

Im due 28th April. I'll be at the RVI, hoping to try out the new birthing centre. Where abouts in county Durham are you?

GinIsCalling · 23/10/2014 04:44

fluffeh we are the opposite family to you then. A very male family here.

Kitty lovely scan, will be interesting to see if scanner has it right - I wonder if they keep a note and check again at 20 weeks?

GinIsCalling · 23/10/2014 04:46

Obviously they check again! just meant I'd love to know what their percentage rate is.

Fluffeh · 23/10/2014 06:37

With DD we had a definite girl nub. But I had 5 scans from 20 weeks and none could be certain she was a girl. The highest percentage I had was 75%. But I took a chance and bought lots of girl things and a pink travel system. Thankfully she was a girl or she would have been wearing girl clothes and travelling around in a pink car seat and pushchair until I was up to going out haha!

Turquoisetamborine · 23/10/2014 06:42

Consett, MrsS so about 12 miles from Newcastle.

I'm 11 weeks today and off work now for two weeks. Hopefully I might have a little bump to show when I go back!

KittyVonCatsington · 23/10/2014 06:43

Gin He said that if he's not the Sonographer at the next scan, to tell then that *** thought it was a girl and to let him know. He said the last 5 couples he said this too (many don't want to know) he was right Grin Not that I care what the gender is, but I do want to know!

Good luck to wigglys scan today!

Fluf-handy she was a girl then!
