Hey wiggly, I'm 11+3 and my symptoms have also eased. Still nauseous but no sickness, and my boobs are also not so painful. My skin is still bad though! I googled and it's a sign the placenta is kicking in, so I am assuming all is fine. Good luck for your scan.

Also does anyone know just how important it is to have the scan on time? Mine will be closer to 13 weeks than 12, but I am assuming that's not a problem?

speedbird17 · 20/10/2014 23:30

Hi Gin!

Nuchal translucency can be done up to 13+6 and after that there are still ways of testing so anything up to 14w is usually ok :) with DD my dating scan turned out to be 13+2 and all was well!

KittyVonCatsington · 21/10/2014 06:38

Thanks for all the good luck wishes! I did survive albeit shattered this morning-roll on Half Term!

That all sounds normal and positive Wiggly

Gin My scan is tomorrow where I will be 12+5 so closer to 13 but still witihin the right time frame-in fact my NHS booklet that came with my appointment letter says 11-14 Dating Scan so the window is quite wide! Eek! My scan is tomorrow! Halloween Grin
I also have an appointment this morning to tell my HeadTeacher. Considering I am the 11th person to get pregnant this calendar year, I am expecting him to be lovely but put his head in his hands-I know I would!

TMI alert!! I had my first "sex" dream since becoming pregnant Blush Was a little disconcerting!

Fluffeh · 21/10/2014 06:52

Morning ladies!
Loving all the positive scan results.
I had rubbish news about my midwife yesterday. They can't fit me in. My community midwives don't want to take my case on as its complicated and one to one don't cover my area.
They told me to just turn up to my scan next week and let the hospital deal with it. I rang the ante natal clinic and they said they won't scan me without my notes so I'm in limbo.
I'm trying not to worry but I don't know what to do now. Dp says we should just go to the scan appointment as they can't refuse to see me but I'm so anxious.
I'm awful with hospitals and hcps from all the problems I've had over the years and I panic before a simple bp check so I know I'm going to be in a real state if we do just turn up.
I thought about making another gp appointment but they've been so hopeless I don't trust them to fix anything.
I've been so upset and worried about it that it can't be good for the baby.
I just want a normal booking appointment and normal ante natal care plan. Why are they being so difficult?
Apparently i already have a consultant allocated which worries me even more as there is one I really dislike at the hospital and I've convinced myself it's her.
Dp says we can have a private dating scan if I really want one but that doesn't solve the ongoing care problem and we can't afford private care for the whole pregnancy.

Sorry for ranting here it's just that no one seems to understand my worries and I hoped you ladies would.

Titsalinabumsquash · 21/10/2014 07:04

Good morning ladies and babies.

I've been up since 5am, I couldn't sleep so I've come down and tidied the house and had a cuppa and some toast in peace.
My scan is at 12. Wish me luck!

Titsalinabumsquash · 21/10/2014 07:05

Oh Fluffeh! Forgot to add.

I'm pretty sure your GP has a duty of care to provide you with appropriate midwife care throughout your pregnancy! Can you speak to the practice manager or call the antenatal team at the hospital for advice?

LinaDee · 21/10/2014 07:25

Fluffeh where are you?
I don't think the community midwifes are allowed to refuse to look after you.

What they can do is provide your ante natal care along with the consultant.
They will probably not be able to deliver your baby in a community midwife unit, you will probably have to go to a consultant led unit.

I'd definitely contact your GP to get this cleared up because this kind of stress is not what you need at this time.
Midwives are ALWAYS talking about how important it is for women to have regular ante natal care as soon as they find out they are pregnant - do not take this refusal lying down.
They are health care professionals with a duty of Care and if your case is complicated then you require their attention all the more - not less!

Sunshinesaz86 · 21/10/2014 07:38

Morning ladies, good luck today tits so exciting to see your little bean. Grin you'll have to put a pic up later.

Gin I'm only 10+3 had my symptoms have also eased, think it can be normal around this time, doesn't stop me googling to check though.

Good luck telling your head today kitty. I still have to tell my regional manager (waiting until before my scan) so know how u feel, only thing is I don't think there is anyone qualified enough to look after my branch within the company so that concerns me (but not really my issue) at the end of the day so think he will also have head in hands moment ha.

Fluffeh. What you've been told is totally unacceptable! I would do as the other ladies have said and go back to GP female if need be or even try a nurse to get this sorted out. Good luck, I definitley wouldn't accept it though.

Anyone else's weather horrific this morning!? Shock

mumxof3x · 21/10/2014 07:48

Wiggly..i too have a retroverted uterus, usually between 11-12wks they will straighten into a more normal position due to the pressure of the growing baby and womb, so its possible yours has done that now. Im 10+2 today mines still tilted back, I had an internal last week after spotting and I had to put my fists under my lower back to try straighten it out abit as they couldnt see my cervix.

This morning I woke up and couldnt think what day it was...i thought it was sunday ha.

Good luck to tits and everyone else who has scans today xxx

mumxof3x · 21/10/2014 07:50

Fluffeh- that sounds awful and it is so unnaceptable. I really hope it gets sorted xx

Jenni2legs · 21/10/2014 08:37

Fluff if I were you I'd get in touch with the highest up you can think of. manager of your NHS trust or the dean or administrator for the hospital your using.
What is happening to you is not right and the people refusing you treatment should know it's unacceptable from a higher up Angry
Very cross for you xxBrew

speedbird17 · 21/10/2014 08:38

Fluffeh Hcp's have a duty of care to their patients I can't quite get my head around your mw not 'wanting' to take on your case. I'd be complaining but I am a bit moody right now and demanding I be seen by someone appropriate.

Tits, good luck for your scan! Mine isn't until 7.25pm and I am already so excited! Drove DH into work and he is also excited which was really nice!!

Supposed to be working from home but getting my nails done and meeting my dad for lunch instead (work will still be there later!). Feel rather decadent as DH bought me breakfast, now I'm going to be pampered and then my dad will buy me lunch - spoilt rotten today and it feels lovely :)

Hope everyone else is doing ok, I have been craving salt and vinegar/pickled onion/Worcester sauce crisps and last night dinner was a pack of monster munch (sorry little bean!).

Anyone else got cravings yet?

speedbird17 · 21/10/2014 08:41

X-post with everyone! Jenni suggestion to take it higher is good. It is completely unacceptable - these hcp's are supposed to be alleviating and reassuring us not giving us crippling anxiety!

plinkyplonks · 21/10/2014 08:58

Best of luck to everyone having their scans today - hope it goes well and try not panic (easier said than done!) :)

kitty - Best of luck with telling work. Re: dreams, my drive has come back but can't face dtd due to risk of bleeding. It's going to be a looooong 6 months.

Wiggly symptoms died down for me after around 10-11 weeks. Hospital said that is normal, don't worry!

Fluffeh What utter bollocks! Seriously, that is awful. As others have said, complain, complain, complain - from practice manager at doctors surgery to hospital.

tits & sunshine Got woken up at 5am (grrrrr) by doors slamming due to crap, crap weather. Does seem to be clearing up slightly now - hoping it stays that way (jinxed it now Grin

Thanks ladies- that's all very reassuring. Mumxof3x glad to hear I'm not the only one! I'm guessing when I have my scan on Thursday they will be able to tell whether it is becoming more upright.

Good luck for everyone having their scans today!

mumxof3x · 21/10/2014 10:27

Probably so wiggly, my mum has also got one so she must have passed it on to me haha. X

TheWildOnes · 21/10/2014 11:05

I'm back from my scan after having some bleeding, saw a healthy heartbeat. They put my dates back 10 days but will be having baby early by elcs anyway.
Very relieved now and bleeding seems to have stopped.

mumxof3x · 21/10/2014 11:26

plinkyplonks · 21/10/2014 11:31
