gettheredout If you search the chat topics for Bounty you will find loads of stories about them. They sell your details on.

mamaslatts · 17/10/2014 14:31

Hi all
Love hearing all the scan news. My 2 Ds are 4 and 7, I think the oldest will be happy but worried the younger will be a bit jealous as he loves being the 'baby'. Definitely will wait til after 12 weeks to tell them and might try and wait longer but I'm worried I will be too obvious. They might think I'm just fat but if people start asking me I don't want them to find out like that. Hopefully they will be happy. DS1 was absolutely chuffed when DS2 was born but now he finds him a bit annoying not sure he will be quite so pleased about another!
I won't be getting the Bounty pack again, I've had 2 now with little in them of value and just hundreds of emails years later to show for it. Also, didn't have them come round the ward when I was in hospital but now I know they do this I won't engage with them for this reason. Boots do a baby club so if you have a points card you can get discounts etc this way. I also brought quite alot of stuff online from them - even my Phil and Teds buggy so got loads of points for other things.

Hi all
Feeling sorry for myself today.

Is it normal for sickness to start in week 11? I've had nausea on and off throughout but I was actually sick for the first time today Hmm
I really shouldn't complain!

Justyouwaitandsee · 17/10/2014 16:28

Hi Lina, I don't think there is such a thing as 'normal' unfortunately.
I am also feeling sorry for myself. Had a big work event last night, and think I overdid it. Woke up feeling like I had the worst hangover, even though I didn't touch a drop of alcohol. Cue sickness, stonking headache and a day in bed. I am 12 weeks today, so was hoping that sickness would be dying down but seems I am actually getting more sensitive to 'exotic' foods, eg Turkish or curry both of which I love.
I am hoping that a restful weekend and a positive scan on Monday will help me feel better.

Sorry that things are difficult for you too...

KittyVonCatsington · 17/10/2014 16:34

Hi lumpy Congratulations and welcome!

It is hard continuing having spotting piglet even when the EPU has said to expect more- I've only just stopped bleeding with a number 2 (thank you Lactulose!) and it is a relief even when I knew baby was ok. Big hugs!

Lina my dating scan is this Wednesday, eek! Can't wait to see bubba again but cracking myself over the new set of worries that comes with all the accompanied testing. Just want baby healthy!! I have read some women start to get morning sickness at the start of the second trimester. Sorry you seem to be one of them!

plinky-gotta love pregnancy rage Wink

GetTheRedOut I got handed the Bounty Pack by my midwife at the booking in appointment and have to say made me feel uncomfortable as I find Bounty to be a despicable organisation with their methods, especially on Labour Wards. Have not signed up to a thing and never will with them. Your DH is spot on Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 17/10/2014 16:37

Big hugs Just Hope you feel better soon!

piglet81 · 17/10/2014 16:41

Thanks Kitty - it is stressful, isn't it! Hope you're feeling OK.

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/10/2014 16:54

I'm sure I read on a pregnancy week by week email that 12 weeks is the time that sickness gets worst because the hormones peak at the end of the first trimester.

lumpyparcel · 17/10/2014 17:03

Are you saying my sickness will get worse? Good grief!
I'm staying in bed until the baby is here! SULK.

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/10/2014 17:05

Hopefully it has hit its peak and will now start getting better (fingers crossed!)

Is it Tuesday yet? Wink

mamaslatts my two are 5 and 9 and I got them ready last time (which didn't stick) by letting them both choose a book about babies in a bookshop. They choose Topsy and Tim and the New Baby - where their friend gets a baby and it talks about the annoying and fun bits of having a newbie. My son chose Mummy Laid an Egg, which is a bit graphic (a page that shows all of the ways mummies and daddies fit together), and goes into the biology a bit.
Maybe something like that would help? I have also heard of people buying white babygrows and letting their older kids decorate them with fabric pens - I might do that this time.

plinkyplonks · 17/10/2014 18:00

mumxof3x As difficult as it is - try not to worry too much. Beanie's EDD has changed 3 times so far, sure it will change again. Nothing can be gained by worrying, it'll only stress you out!

Not sure if I'm going to out myself massively here, but here is my 12 week scan from today :) EDD has now been moved forward to 28th April, baby is now measuring 12+4 (originally 12+1!).

Beanie was 6cm long and NT was 1.9mm not sure if that's good or bad. Just awaiting blood results now :)

May 2015: Thread 3 - Let's do this :)

I thought I'd share that Money saving expert has a baby box offer on at the moment. A company called Sassy Bloom (horrid name).

jazzyjenbo · 17/10/2014 18:19

Getthe, i used the 'coupons' inside the bounty packs to get money off nappies and nappy cream etc.. But i didnt fill anything in or give my details to the women harassing me on delivery suite. You can still get the packs without giving your details. But not much in them tbh, there was a small towel and baby wash in the one i was given in hospital.
Jeni (think it was you asking about scans? Sorry if it was sum1 else) my scan on tuesday put me back 5 days from what i though was edd and was 3 weeks different from the scan 2 weeks before. I am still counting from my dates until 12 week scan confirms definite edd.
My sickness has disappeared since tue and thankfully bowels etc seem to of eased, although i hav still got bloating.

jazzyjenbo · 17/10/2014 18:27

Kitty.. Was wondering if maybe the stats could b ordered in edd order instead, might make more sense that way? I wonder if we will have any twins? Wink

mumxof3x · 17/10/2014 18:37

Plinky yay for the scan :) thats fab news. Yes ive stopped worrying now as im certain considering the 2 factors of an empty bladder n retroverted womb the measurment was probs out slightly. Theres a healthy bean in there and thats all thsts important x

lumpyparcel · 17/10/2014 18:38

I'm convinced there's going to either be no bean in there or two at my 12 weeks!! DP says I'm mad but I swear there's going to be two! I'm just hoping it's the reason for all this sickness to be honest!

GetTheRedOut · 17/10/2014 18:47

Think I will stay away from the Bounty stuff. Doesn't sound like it's worth the hassle!

KittyVonCatsington · 17/10/2014 19:03

Yay plinky! Fabulous scan photo there and a good size!

jazzy you can order the stats by putting a filter on the EDD column. I'm popping out now so feel free to alter but can do it tomorrow if you like.

Happy Friday Ladies!

Hi all. Accidentally pregnant in Kabul (was told I couldn't ever, ever conceive in 2006 so insane surprise), EDD 24 May. What with (a) not being home, and (b) the surprise factor, its awesome to see all the information and people here. I got a scan here a couple of weeks ago and Lo! 138 bpm heartbeat on the wee thing. Fingers crossed...
Is anyone else peeing every two seconds?

Turquoisetamborine · 17/10/2014 20:20

Wow congratulations Nikita, what a surprise! What do you do in Kabul? Yes I pee all the time including three times at night. It gets worse too. I once counted 12 times during my first pregnancy!

Tori, is Nia a restaurant? Sounds bad anyway. Unleash your rage on them!

mumxof3x · 17/10/2014 20:45

Congratulations nikita :)

I ate a full block of cheese today within 5 mins...oh dear.

Ive beem trying to put yesterdays scan pik up but its saying not allowed
