Hello all, all was well with the scan although very uncoperative baby!
Turns out we are having a boy!!! I did think it would b a boy..
Can't tell if husband is excited or not. Seemed a little traumatised.. Think seeing scan makes it seem very real.
Suspect he may have wanted a girl... Although he says he doesn't mind.
I'm happy either way. The name Ada will have t wait!x

TinyTear · 25/11/2014 07:51

It was the day for uncooperative chilli. Did they manage to see everything?

Toucant my non driving is semi medical I can't judge distance especially when moving, fairly important I hear for drivers. It's guessed that due to my eye issues as a child that part of brain/eye development under developed.
That said I don't think there is anything technically legally to stop me.
I think of it as my gift to the world. Wink
I hope all is well with the scan.

Chilli congrats on the little boy. I get the impression scans are a lot more overwhelming for men as at this stage they have so little real evidence of a baby.
Until the first Scan my DH never believes I'm pregnant, the first time he asked how many missed periods before I was properly pregnant. Because 5 Postive tests just weren't enough. Grin

chiliplant · 25/11/2014 11:09

Yeah I think u are right. I think my husband was bullied a little bit at school although had a group of good friends and I wonder if he is a bit worried subconsciously that his son will b the same as him.
Managed t see everything on the scan eventually, after emptying bladder, star jumps etc! She said everything looked OK. Very thankful for that!x

LittleBairn · 25/11/2014 12:04

chili my DH projects those sort of feeling too, he and his dad had a difficult relationship when young so he thinks a daughter would be better.

I'm just waiting for my mum and then we are going into hospital they want to see me side I feel leaky and crampy.
Just wish she would hurry up she will need at least a Valium when she finds put she's going to have to drive on the motorway...

LondonSuperTrooper · 25/11/2014 12:46

Little LOL at your mum comment :) Best of luck with your hospital appt.

Chilli congrats on your scan and your baby boy.

Toucanet · 25/11/2014 12:54

chili congrats on a good scan and the boy! My DH has said before that he wants a girl, though claims now not to mind. But that's partly why I/we don't want to know gender yet - don't want him being disappointed for 5 months! (Have the sex chromosomal result in an envelope but don't intend to open so will just ask not to see this pm, if still ok at our scan).

Little Good, glad you've got an appointment. Fingers crossed things get sorted out.

Toucanet · 25/11/2014 12:54

Oh we have been calling ours Roger though. Anyone watch American Dad?

Jetpackplease · 25/11/2014 13:00

Little hope the appointment is reassuring.

Toucan good luck with your scan! Waiting until the end of the day is hard.

Chili congrats on finding out you're having a boy - v exciting!

LIG hope you're feeling a bit better today.

My scan yesterday was great as baby is well and everything looks as it should. Baby was v uncooperative though and I had to switch to an internal scan to get a view of the bottom of the spine, at which point of course baby flipped 180 so was still the wrong way - first experience of feeling slightly embarassed by my child! Blush

Was very reassuring though and great to have some good news for DH. Sadly my lovely MIL passed away this morning. DH was with her. Just very sad that she didn't get to meet this baby who would have been her first grandchild.

I didn't find out the gender yesterday as DH not there, so we can look forward to a surprise later on.

Shetland · 25/11/2014 14:27

So sorry jet hope you and DH are coping ok. Good that he was with her, although a shame to miss the scan.

Congrats on your boy chilli :)

I chased my scan up this morning. Not sure if I'd been missed or not but she made me an appointment for next Tuesday so that's good.

Everything looks fine they are testing for UTI but no immediate concerns. They have no idea why I have a specific spot of pain they, the looked at my ovaries and all looks fine.

LittleBairn · 25/11/2014 17:05

little im glad everything looked ok and that they are testing for a uti, my midwife said most pregnant women get one at some point in their pregnancy.

LittleBairn · 25/11/2014 22:39

smiling that what I'm think I've never had be and this is my 3rd pregnancy in two years so in sort of due one.
I have an anterior placenta too (I already suspected) which is why this one feels a lot less active than DD at this stage.
He/she was having a good stretch and a yawn so not in the east but bothered about today's drama. Grin

Toucanet · 25/11/2014 23:36

Jetpack so sorry about your lovely MIL. Glad your scan was ok. At least DH was with her and like you say you can look forward to finding out your baby's sex together next time.

Little glad they didn't find anything worrying.

My foetal medicine scan was ok too! Placenta low, that was all, but not a problem this early apparently. We asked not to see the sex thanks and DH felt the Dr occasionally whizzed it around - trying to avoid showing us a huge willy, obviously?!

(Only slight annoyance, they weren't happy to sign a form giving their consent/approval for me to join a specifically antenatal exercise program run by a midwife/personal trainer, due to the seizure I had - want a neurologist to review things first & I'm waiting to see if/when can see my old consultant. Said no qualms about gentle swimming though so long as accompanied so might just have to cough up to join local leisure club. Would really like to get the all-clear for something pg-specific though).

Thinking about telling people now - in-laws at a meal in a couple of weeks. Mine, not sure. Probably will see/bump into them at an event this Sat, just whether to engineer some other meeting to tell them or not. Not showing yet meaning could probably leave it another week or two anyway?

Lila sorry I just saw your bump pic - it's lovely :)

Toucan how annoying but I guess that FMC are playing the cautious game. I am always intending to start swimming. Well, I will do as soon as I can a plus size maternity swimsuit - they are like gold dust!

Tiny best of luck with your appointment today. I think that I'm showing as well. I may post a bump pic later. I'm having trouble buying maternity work trousers. I've bought a pair from Next but they are too big so I'm having to rely on using a belt to keep it ion place... which is rather uncomfortable and I'm worried about hurting Bunny with the tight belt :(

LondonSuperTrooper · 26/11/2014 10:27

Ok here is my bump pic. Not very flattering but hey ho. Anyone else brave enough to post theirs? Wink

TinyTear · 26/11/2014 10:36

I'm not sure how to do photos here. Have one on the fb group... Might try later.

London I got trousers in h&m as they had some that went to 16 or xl
What annoyed me yesterday when trying clothes was most trousers were bloody skinny legs!!! Come on... We are pregnant, we have no time to struggle putting clothes on and legs and ankles will get swollen!!!

Grrrr
