Gorgeous mamami. Enjoy your new baby girl.

FlipFantasia · 10/10/2014 20:53

Congrats Mamami!

Things kicking off here. Totally surprised after my sweep not happening on Wednesday. Am 40+3.

binkybunny · 10/10/2014 21:13

Congrats mamani and good luck flip

My parents are half way home and a good 2 1/2 hours away and DH has gone into work as a system has gone down. Paranoid my waters are going to break now as have some warm liquid down there but thinking it's just where I've got out of the bath Grin

binkybunny · 10/10/2014 21:15

Just seen mn is going down for a few hours tomorrow.... aaargh!

ohthegoats · 10/10/2014 21:31

Good to go here too. Plug gone, sitting on a towel on laminate floor - well, onhands and knees with arse over towel. Watching hignfy hoping to be amused, get oxytocin going. Started to time things. I'll be so happy if I manage to keep it going and avoid induction.

CellyD · 10/10/2014 22:01

Congratulations Mamami! Goats it all sounds promising, fingers crossed it continues so that you avoid induction. Good luck Flip.

I'm looking forward to more announcements and pictures of lovely little ones. How on earth will I manage if MN is down tomorrow? Maybe it's a sign I need some RL friends to burden with my on-going pregnancy paranoia / looking for signs of (but oh so slow to arrive) labour...

mum2kiss · 10/10/2014 22:06

Yep apparently it will be down between 6am-2pm! I'd better be in proper labour by then to pass the time!

All sounds promising for you goats

cabster · 10/10/2014 22:57

Congrats mamami! She's lovely.

Good luck goats and flip! I've had some mucus show up finally and a bit of backache, not anticipating much but it's an ache in the right direction at least. Night all!

Lulu298 · 10/10/2014 23:11

Good luck flip, thedogs and goats! Can't believe MN's down tomorrow Shock

puppythedog · 11/10/2014 02:39

Think I need to change my name to Mrthedog.

Matilda Rose was born at 20:16 this evening by unplanned necessary C section, she was briefly brought to us before being whisked of to be antibiotic'd and have a venflon put in. We got her back about an hour after this which has definitely affected me a bit.

I managed to stay on ward until two trying to get to know her and get some feeding happening.

Not sure how I feel right now, not sure how much of that is due to 30 minutes sleep in 44 hours. Mrsthedog is now having to look after Matilda without me which feels wrong and unfair on her, she's not had much more sleep than me and has had much more to cope with.
Will tell the whole tale when we can.

I'm somebody's DadShock

CellyD · 11/10/2014 02:46

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Dog, I'm glad that little Matilda Rose arrived safely.

Mr Dog get some rest, the two women in your life will definitely need you in the morning.

Kittylou1 · 11/10/2014 03:05

Congratulations what a beautiful name xxx

Mamami · 11/10/2014 04:15

Congratulations dogs! You have what seems to be a beautiful little family and a lifetime to make this difficult night up to the Mrs, Puppy. Wishing you big hugs with Matilda again soon

fedupofrainydays · 11/10/2014 04:32

Congrats to the dogs! I think my DH felt pretty similar to you when my ds came along. It feels very unnatural to just leave the mother when knackered and battered and bruised. But get as much sleep as possible then mrsdog can sleep when you get back tomorrow. My hospital has relaxed visiting hours which made it better as you don't get chucked out at 10pm, you just can't sleep there too.

It's horrible when the baby gets whisked away too. Mine did, but after a few hours to special care and both of us were very emotional about it and feeling very helpless.
You will be together as a little family at home very soon!

Hope everyone else is going ok!

madamweasel · 11/10/2014 14:26

Hi everyone, our new baby girl arrived on Thursday

Cora, 7lb 6oz, 18:36 on 9.10.14

Good luck to everyone still waiting to meet their new baby. labour started with period type pains at 9am and got steadily worse till 5pm, where we pitched up in hospital. I had an hour of gas and air before a moment of lucidity at 6.30, at which point I had an eye of the storm moment of calm before a 4minute second stage and catching the midwife totally by surprise and the baby shot out! Everyone kept saying 2nd time is easier but I was still relieved it was that fast. We're all at home now waiting for a midwife visit.

I'll catch up on all the thread soon, ttfn

ohthegoats · 11/10/2014 14:46

Well, I'm still pregnant. FFS.

Contractions strong enough to need a bath, TENs, breathing etc, kicked off at about 8pm last night. By 5am they were 4 - 5 minutes apart, and pretty consistent, but not speeding up. They'd got stronger (hence need for TENs), but not closer. Had no sleep by this point, and decided to do some proper walking/bouncing/dancing to move things on... and then it all slowed up AGAIN. Went to bed, managed an hour and a half sleep with TENs machine still on low - contractions still happening but erratically at this point.. 7 minutes, 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 8 minutes etc. Phoned doula at 8, and we decided on nipple twiddling, walking and things to get it going - none of which has worked. I phoned delivery suite and cancelled the induction appointment for 4pm today, even though they said they'd keep it for me anyway when they heard about contractions.

So here I am at 3pm with less 'background' pain going on the whole time, but stronger contractions, just less often - every 7 minutes or so. Have no idea whether stuff done so far will have dilated me further than the 3cm I was yesterday afternoon or not, but don't want to go to MAU until I have decided on a plan for escape of the induction appointment. I don't need to be induced today, as am already as far as the gel would get me by tomorrow anyway, so could potentially go in for them to break my waters tomorrow, or not. Loads of mucus/bloody goo going on, but nothing alarming coloured, or watery enough to suggest leaking waters yet. Baby still kicking away like normal, heartburn still here like normal, can't breathe properly, same as always. Can't actually go out and have a life because can't walk very far without having to lean on things or have wires hanging out of clothes from TENs.

This is beginning to piss me off.

MundayCakes85 · 11/10/2014 15:04

Congratulations to all the new arrivals, really happy for you all.
Sorry to hear you're still pregnant too Goats hope you get started again soon.
I'm currently hooked up to a fetal heart monitor after having the induction pessary. Wasn't pleasant but nowhere near as uncomfortable as a sweep. Hopefully I'll get to go home for a bit after this.
Anyone else got any news?

ohthegoats · 11/10/2014 15:27

I hope they let you go home munday - that's not an option at my hospital (another reason to avoid it all) - so clocks start straight off. You need to be home and comfy to feel positive about it all starting. Good luck... hopefully you'll be one of those 5 hour start to finish inductions!

Shirehobbit · 11/10/2014 15:37

Oh crap goats - I was hoping things would have kicked off for you, overnight.
Good that stuff is still happening, though.

Hope you're ok, Munday Smile

Congratulations to all the new arrivals! Sorry to hear than whilst mumsnet has been down it's not progressed much goats. Thinking of you!

binkybunny · 11/10/2014 16:24

Sorry to hear you're no further goats and congrats to new mummies, there's been such an influx of babies!

Tried to go out for a walk this afternoon, made it to the end of the street as back and hip pain is unbearable. Had a few little contractions while walking so annoyed I couldn't get any further. Watching nice, happy movies now and having a spicy Thai curry tonight, glass of wine and hot bath. Going to try and encourage DH to dtd too!

LondonJen · 11/10/2014 16:30

Hi Ladies

Baby Eleanor arrived safely 2 days early on Mon 6th Oct at 11.30pm after those contractions I posted about became a long labour! Wanted to tell you so soon but goodness only just functioning today! Sorry not up to date on thead hope everyone is well. We are at home. Had Eleanor in the birth centre as I wanted. Tens was awesome and loved the gas and air. Pool was hot so got out. Begged for cs but they thought not!

Sleepy baby not wanting to feed so but we've had huge leaps in last 24 hrs she has woken herself twice to feed. We're bfing for longer and longer but having to top up at the mo. Just found out she has a tongue tie which am annoyed about as SO many people including a feeding specialist looked at us but didn't say so. Even so she has being do amazingly well for a lo with that so hopeful we can sort and be even better. Wanted to ask Granny for a recommendation of private snipper as we in Greenwich sure you are S Lon too? Thank you so much!

Sadly I have 2nd degree tear that apears infected. Got antibiotic but scared gonna get thrush. Not good for bf.

Hope to post longer story soon as really liked hearing others. Hope any babies I've missed are doing well and those waiting are reserving energy for the big day!

cabster · 11/10/2014 16:39

Congrats madam! Lovely name :)

Stupidly decided to try and kick things off by taking DD to the cbeebies fun day at Salford - rammed! Couldn't see anything, buggies everywhere, the big screen wasn't working so couldn't see the panto and had to queue half an hour for something to eat. At least we were forced to park miles away so got a good walk out of it! DH is grumpy and watching a western so no oxytocin for me Hmm

cabster · 11/10/2014 17:02

Congrats jen! been wondering how you were getting on Smile

fatpony · 11/10/2014 17:05

Congrats LondonJen! Great name (it's my name)...
