Congrats London hope you get the tt sorted and the infection clears up soon x

ohthegoats · 11/10/2014 17:21

Congratulations Jen! Eleanor is the name of my doula, who frankly is keeping me sane right now.

We just went for a proper WALK.. on mud, in the countryside.. I weirdly felt all energised and up for it, despite having contractions as we walked.

puppythedog · 11/10/2014 17:47

Congratulations Jen. Brilliant news.Grin

hefner · 11/10/2014 18:17

Congratulations Madam! Beautiful name.

Congats Jen hope bf gets easier soon. It's surprising how tongue tie doesn't seem to be picked up. My baby has one too and no one noticed despite a fairly obvious heart shaped tongue. I've asked for a referral to get it snipped and should hopefully get an appt this week.

fedupofrainydays · 11/10/2014 18:29

Congrats on the new arrivals jen and madam!

jen if you are near Kingston I know of a private snipper there or another in sutton. Both mine have had tongue ties and I had to go private as not picked up and sorted in hospital!

fedupofrainydays · 11/10/2014 18:39

Oh and I've had thrush too - prob from the antibs I had to have as waters went early. Thought it had gone but appears to be back. Not got it in my nipples though - just my bits :(

Lily31 · 11/10/2014 19:13

Congratulations Londonjen! Hope you get the TT sorted quickly. Can't believe the incompatibility of health care providers encouraging BF and almost ignoring TT.

Goats fingers crossed your walk has helped you along a bit more.

Anyone heard from me23 recently?

ohthegoats · 11/10/2014 19:18

What about mrsb? Have either of them been on fb?

Georgebythesea · 11/10/2014 19:25

Congratulations London Jen :)
Hope things progress soon Goats!
I've had bad cramps and period pain/tightenings all day today and hardly been able to walk because of them.Hopefully means something is happening now and he will arrive in the next few days as I'm a week overdue today..fingers crossed!

Georgebythesea · 11/10/2014 19:26

Ps is it ok to put a hot water bottle on bump?

FlipFantasia · 11/10/2014 19:27

Congrats Jen and Madam!

My baby girl Áine (pronounced 'Awn-us) was born 7.32pm (East Coast time), weighing 9lb1oz and 53cm long. Labour progressed rather faster than I expected. The hospital was a half an hour drive away and I had the urge to push almost as soon as we set off. Managed to hold off (groaning and mooing and legs firmly crossed!) and she was born less than 20 mins after we screeched into the car park. My midwife arrived 5 mins before she was born. But twas great! A small 1st degree tear requiring some stitches but otherwise I feel great. They had to monitor her blood sugars due to her size, but no problems there. Also monitoring her bilirubin as she has DH's blood type and not mine (puts her more at risk of jaundice apparently). Looks fine so far though.

Just had the PIL and DS and DD here to meet her.

Ladies, I have to say the hospital here is fab. Two night stay, dh stays over too, gorgeous en suite room. I had a post natal massage this morning. We've got their complementary celebration dinner for two arriving at dinner time. All pads (included excellent chilled ones) and nappies etc provided. So US insurance costs a load but certainly feels very nice...

FlipFantasia · 11/10/2014 19:32

Gah pronounced 'Awn-ya' (damn you autocorrect!).

Me23 had a baby girl Violet.

Goats I think you will have your baby vv soon! Your body is doing all the right things (the energy thing is a great sign - I had that yesterday and it was the opposite of my usual afternoon nap!)

ohthegoats · 11/10/2014 19:57

Congratulations Flip - I'm glad everything went smoothly. I've done some bits of this pregnancy privately, and frankly it was ace. Can't afford it for real, and it makes no difference to personnel, but the facilities and resources are always so lovely.

Lots of girls being born this month huh? Nearly all our NCT class are girls too.

To top off my evening of feeling all meh, next door have gone away, leaving their dog in the care of her brother - who is meant to be 'looking after it'. He's out this evening, so the dog - who normally would never be alone because they are an older couple and don't really go out - is barking and howling the place down. This is the first evening we've heard him in months.. and it's THIS evening, when I'm cringing around the living room, have screaming heartburn, feel sick, can't breath properly, am fending off calls from friends/family/maternity assessment and the delivery suite, and just want to cry. Great. We've had to come to bed in the room furthest from their house, which is not where I want to be at all.

Congratulations to london flip and me23 Flowers

Oh bugger goats but it really does sound like things are going the right way

I've gone into denial I really don't think I'll go before Thursday (induction day) and to be honest I've given up getting excited when these bloomin contractions come and go.
At least I will have child care sorted and can be a bit organised.

ohthegoats · 11/10/2014 20:05

I've gone into denial

I've actually just started thinking about getting in the car and just driving away from all this shit. Yes, I'm going a bit mental.

binkybunny · 11/10/2014 20:23

Aww flip I'm so jealous of your private healthcare treatment, wish we still had it. I used to love it in Jersey, just a world away from the NHS (we also got private health insurance it as part of DH job so cost us nothing!)

Grannyapple · 11/10/2014 21:08

Ah sorry londonjen...just lost a huge post...grr! Congrats on the birth of your beautiful daughter!

Anyway, the details below are for a lactation consultant who does the clinics at kings but does private work. The kings service was a rapid access clinic...i used it on day 10 for DS almost 4 years ago...but now it can take up to 6 wks to get a referral..

Best to contact her ASAP so she can see you quickly as your milk comes in...I had my daughter's done last year on day 4 & it made such a difference at that stage..

katherinefisher.co.uk

Let me know how you get on xx

YellowWellies · 11/10/2014 21:37

I had Lilla's cut on day two and BF became painless and she no longer nodded off at the breast. It also meant I could ditch fannying around with top ups!

Grannyapple · 11/10/2014 21:44

Indeed yellow..the earlier the better x

Lily31 · 11/10/2014 21:52

Thanks for tat link granny. I'll keep it in the back pocket just in case.

STIGZ · 11/10/2014 23:20

Thinking of you all you ladies that are still pregnant & fed up Thanks even after c/sec i can get much comfier in bed now than at 9 months pregnant Shock it will all be over soon & worth every minute .,, i promise Wink

Congratz to all new arrivals, just managing to quickly skim posts but not taking much in as im still in hospital, and had about 4 hours sleep since wednesday, so im like a zombie, just cant sleep with the noise of crying babies and general hustle & bustle of busy ward Sad

binkybunny · 12/10/2014 02:28

Seem to have gone back to being awake in the middle of the night instead of my lovely 8 hour straight through sleeps I was enjoying last week Sad Oh well, will soon be up feeding a baby anyway so might as well get used to it!

binkybunny · 12/10/2014 02:29

stigz hope you and your squish are ok and manage to get home and have some sleep soon.

MundayCakes85 · 12/10/2014 06:40
