I'm still waiting bump... Not sure how many other people are. Only 40 +2 so I could still be here next week.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement Smile

DGLB · 29/10/2014 15:29

I'm still here 40+9 been having mild period type pains since last night but there not coming in waves so doubt it's anything to get excited about Sad midwife tomorrow to be booked in for induction at the weekend.

Good luck to everyone still waiting Thanks

Lulu298 · 29/10/2014 17:12

Congratulations robindeer! Wonder how pinkie is.

Am still here. Currently writing this on my ball, even considered scrubbing some floors earlier!

Giving birth seems a surreal and vague thing that feels further away than ever! Reading Juju birth skills and it all seems very abstract. Haven't had any significant cramping since last Saturday.

Once we get into November, do we gatecrash the Nov due date club?!

Lily31 · 29/10/2014 17:32

LuLu, I already gate crashed a while back, think I might again. I have had a very full on cleaning session this afternoon. Hoovering every skirting board, cleaning the grout with a toothbrush... Not sure if it's nesting or just the need to completely distract myself.

I keep trying to read JuJu too, then keep feeling that it won't be compatible with the natal hypnobirthing... Half the time stamping my feet, the other half breathing in golden light. I feel like I need to place bets on one method and then skip to the other if the first doesn't work?!

Not a twinge here either DGLB... Period pains have gone. I had strong BH whilst walking yesterday, but that's it.

It's the Apprentice tonight, which I usually find distracting Smile

Lulu298 · 29/10/2014 17:46

Yeah I feel the same lily. I've got the natal hypnotherapy cd and reading juju does seem like a completely different approach! I don't feel motivated at all to read it either. Keep looking at random houses on rightmove instead!

Pinkie2103 · 29/10/2014 18:10

I am still waiting :(

Saw midwife this morning and baby and I are doing fine so I am going to wait a bit longer and hope regular contractions start soon. Had some earlier (and more when I used my breast pump for nipple stimulation) but there isn't much of a pattern. Had a few sips of wine last night bur might opt for a glass tonight! (And clary sage belly rub)

Getting very frustrated with my body and starting to think that I'll be having a Halloween baby via cs :(

Lily31 · 29/10/2014 20:27

That's one of my favourite distractions too LuLu. I like to try and find our next house even though we won't be moving for a long time!

Awww pinkie, how many days are you now? It's good that you and bubba are doing well. I keep thinking about wine. Maybe it's time to succumb...

ohthegoats · 29/10/2014 21:32

I think you can combine Juju and hypno stuff - I sort of 'stamped' my feet in time to my breathing, and focused on the sound my feet made. In the end though I was focused on blowing the water away from my face/blowing bubbles into the water.

FatFlashingLazer · 29/10/2014 23:15

Evening ladies. I'm still here waiting too. 40+6 today. Got a sweep booked for Sunday if nothing before then. Getting cramps and lots of twinges on and off, but they seem to be triggered mainly by needing a wee or just after a wee...which is a little weird and also annoying. I'm starting to try and mentally prepare myself for induction and having to be on the labour ward instead of water birth in the lovely MLU. It's really weird as I've been visualising it that way the whole pregnancy and now it might not happen. I knew that it might not go that way of course but as I've had a low risk pregnancy I was really hoping for the MLU.

Anyway, whatever will be will be and as long as the baby arrives safely then that's what matters now.

It will be strange to hop over to the November thread as I've been reading and posting with the October threads and am on the October FB page, so I might just stick with that. In a way it's kind of nice to have been able to see the different problems and experiences people have been encountering with their newborns...makes me feel a little bit more prepared as a FTM and has given me an idea of what to expect.

Thinking of you all!

FlipFantasia · 30/10/2014 01:15

Hi ladies

I just wanted to pop on and say hello and that I'm sending you all positive labour and birth vibes. I went to 42 weeks with my first and well remember the overdue-ness (I went a little crazy - all those 'well meaning' have you had the baby texts and messages drove me mad!).

Pinkie really hope things are ticking along nicely for you!

Robin congrats on your baby! I had a c section with my first (emcs) so I understand a little of the getting your head around a different birth than you imagined. I've had two vbacs since and I love all my births. Sections are tough going so take it easy to recover - lots of newborn snuggles!

I also would love if you all stuck with the October crew and came on over to the postnatal thread (and facebook too). You've been posting all along and are part of the thread. Totally understand if you want to debunk to November but do stick with October if you want to!

Hoping the next time I check the thread there's some labour action (or baby announcements!).

LondonJen · 30/10/2014 15:44

If it helps Laser, I could've been on the moon & I wouldn't have noticed! Hopefully you can take/use a few things (own pillows/exercise ball) to make it not so different.

I didn't finish juju's birth skills but the one bit I read that helped most was to get louder than the pain. I roared myself hoarse this way once the gas&air wasn't an option but it helped to minimise the pain by drowning it out somehow.

FatFlashingLazer · 30/10/2014 17:04

That's good to know London. I'm sure it won't really matter it's just weird having pictured it one way and now that might not happen.

I've had work bits and pieces that have kept me busy on that laptop today. It's been a nice distraction from just waiting around.

Hope everyone else is having a good waiting day!

mum2kiss · 31/10/2014 00:10

Hey ladies, last day of October! I wonder who will sneak in with the last October baby?

Hard to believe my boy is 2 and a half weeks old. Seems an age away that I was sat waiting, willing myself not to go overdue!

Good luck to all you ladies still waiting and I look forward to seeing you on th postnatal thread if I ever actually manage to get my arse over there!

Thanks for the good luck messages! Still here and doubt mine is going to be a Halloween/October baby! It's obviously far too comfortable - perhaps I should stop feeding it hot chocolates, cakes, biscuits, sweets etc??!

Thanks for saying stick with the October club - I've been reading the post-natal thread and feel miles behind everyone! Wondering if people will be up for going over newborn type questions when I finally get on it!

pinkie and those still waiting, hope you're ok.

FlipFantasia · 31/10/2014 13:38

Lulu people will still be in the newborn stage when you come over to the post natal thread! My dd is 3 weeks today...that is no difference in the grand scheme of things!

Pinkie thinking of you and hope you're cuddling your baby!

Happy Halloween to everyone else! It's a huge thing here in the US. The kids are up to high do and can't wait to get out trick or treating tonight!

weeonion · 31/10/2014 16:11

Evening all!! No Halloween babies???

Lily31 · 31/10/2014 17:08

Happy Halloween all!

I don't think there will be a Halloween/October baby here either...

I had similar thoughts LuLu. I was thinking I should maybe move to a raw food diet, baby would probably make a move then.

Thanks to everyone who keeps popping in to say hello... I said to the November thread, I feel like I'm in a waiting room where everyone ahead of me has had their name called and all the receptionists have gone home. Just really want to meet our little bundle now...

FatFlashingLazer · 31/10/2014 17:15

I'm not holding out any hope for an October baby here anymore either. Nevermind!

YellowWellies · 31/10/2014 19:33

Lulu on my last thread the very last baby born (a November baby who appeared December 15th) was the first crawler and walker - he did both months and months ahead of my October 23rd boy - stick with the October thread - a few days behind will make no difference xx

MundayCakes85 · 31/10/2014 23:17

Good luck everyone left. I totally feel your pain. DD born 14 days late after being induced. I was so over pregnancy by then. Looking forward to seeing you all over on the postnatal thread Halloween Grin

Lulu298 · 01/11/2014 18:23

That's exactly how I feel lily!

Have got an induction booked for next Saturday morning so am treating myself to sitting on the sofa instead of my ball or hard chair to watch our last babyless Strictly! This is how sad things have got! Hope everyone is ok.

Kirstipops · 01/11/2014 18:47

Yep stick with us! Can't wait to see you all on the other thread, it must be so frustrating but it won't be long now xx

Lily31 · 01/11/2014 21:17

Oooh, me too LuLu. Induction next Saturday morning. I too have watched strictly with my feet up.

DP cooked me a curry and now I'm having cake and a glass of wine... All indulgence.

Got my first sweep in the morning, not really looking forward to it tbh. But... If it helps things then it'll be worth it.

Lulu298 · 01/11/2014 21:33

Good luck with your sweep. I've got one booked for Wednesday and would be interested to hear what it's like if that's not TMI?!
