Morning campers!

Clocking in on my due date... Waiting for the midwife, not sure she's actually coming.

Need to get out to distract myself. Hope everyone still waiting is hanging in there.

Good luck with your sweep DGLB

weeonion · 27/10/2014 14:36

Afternoon folks! 40&2 here!!

No niggles, no twinges no signs! Apart from no sleep - I am feeling good, loving mat leave and enjoying all this extra time with Dd so,in no real hurry.

I had a monitoring appt earlier at hospital - they wanted to induce me on due date, then today and now Wednesday. Wont be happening so will go for monitoring every few days to check in. They also wanted to do a sweep in a "why dont we just do a quick sweep while you're here?" way. Refused that too!
Baby's heart rate is great, I have no health indicators so why the rush!;!!!

Hope the rest of you are doing ok.....

Lily31 · 27/10/2014 15:55

Hey LuLu! That's a good way to spend the day. Might get the hormones flowing too.

Thanks stigz and lazer... Hanging in there.

You sound very sorted weeonion. Gotta stick to your guns. :-)

Midwife did pop in this morning. Everything is good, baby engaged, back is down one side (thankfully, I was convinced it was b2b). Just waiting now.

I decided to pop out and get my eyebrows done and get a pedicure. Think I managed to slightly panic the women in the salon when they asked when bubba is due. I said it would be fine and they have plenty of towels if needed...

DGLB · 27/10/2014 16:53

Thank you lily31, I'm still here don't think sweep has/will work as I'm not very favourable got another one Thursday and will be booked in to be induced on Saturday atleast the end is in sight can't wait to meet our new baby Smile

Pinkie2103 · 27/10/2014 18:10

I am still here too. 40+1. Thought things were kicking off on Saturday and even had the TENS on really low but contractions were all over the shop by the afternoon so decided to stop timing and have a bath. Had the odd twinge and cramp since but otherwise nothing else has happened so we've just been out and about and carried on as normal

See midwife on Wednesday but don't want a sweep or any other intervention just yet so hopefully she won't hassle me too much

DH is a teacher so on half term at the moment which obvioisly helps with DS but it would be nice if the baby did make an appearance before the end of the holiday

Feeling OK in general though, just get tired and emotional rather too easily !

Lulu298 · 27/10/2014 21:46

Have got a midwife appointment tomorrow where I can have a sweep if I want it. I will be interested to know what it's looking like up there and whether the random cramping and weird smear test-like feelings mean my insides have been doing some work in the background! I will be disappointed if they haven't!

Feels like my bump is so low now, it's tugging on my skin like ligament pain. Grrr.

Pinkie2103 · 28/10/2014 06:37

Looks like my waters have gone!!

Excited but a bit scared as last time my waters went nothing really happened so I ended up being induced 32 hours later and then ended up with a cs so really hoping not to repeat that

Just going to start bouncing on my ball...

binkybunny · 28/10/2014 06:51

Thinking of all you due/ overdue ladies, I keep popping on to see how you are doing!

FX and good luck pinkie

Lulu298 · 28/10/2014 07:40

Good luck pinkie!

Grannyapple · 28/10/2014 08:54

Hi ladies...not long now!

Good luck pinkie..my waters started trickling at 12noon ish on Friday & nothing happened til 9pm...then it was a straight 4 hrs & Adam arrived!

FatFlashingLazer · 28/10/2014 09:25

Good luck Pinkie and Lulu I hope the appt goes well today

CellyD · 28/10/2014 10:26

Fingers crossed for you pinkie. Hope your appointment goes well Lulu.

Not long to go now ladies.

Kirstipops · 28/10/2014 10:30

Good luck Pinkie, wishing your baby's prompt arrival and subsequent tea and toast Grin

Pinkie2103 · 28/10/2014 15:38

Nothing to report just yet. At all. Just more leakage....

Went for a walk earlier and just been to the shops to get brie, pate and an antipasto selection (plus some incontinence pants!)

Bit gutted nothing has happened but promised myself I wouldn't start stressing about it till at least 32 hours

Pinkie2103 · 28/10/2014 15:39

And thank you for all the good luck messages! x

Lulu298 · 28/10/2014 17:15

That is such a good idea to get the forbidden foods in! Hope things kick off soon.

Thanks for the good wishes lazer and cellyd. Midwife basically said in her opinion there was no point having a sweep today so have booked in for one next Wednesday and then induction on the following Saturday if things haven't happened.

I'm starting to wonder whether baby's going to wait in there till the next full moon (around Bonfire night) and husband's already joking that we'll be having the induction when England are playing the All Blacks on the Saturday as just his luck!

Lily31 · 28/10/2014 17:53

Evening all! Good luck pinkie, sounds promising. Your baby will be here v soon.

I had a walk this morning and my bump was cramping the whole way. Not sure if that's BH, it was more uncomfortable than painful.

Looks like we have an induction booked for the same date LuLu. I am hoping that things progress before then, as it seems a long way away to me. Today at the nct bumps and babies group they said it's best to have a drink or two apparently? I've been sober the whole pregnancy, so it would feel odd having a drink at the last hurdle. I could totally do with one though!

Lulu298 · 28/10/2014 18:31

To help bring on labour? Could give it a go although like you haven't had an alcoholic drink since the BFP! Haven't really missed it majorly to be honest but now the nights are drawing in, a glass of red is looking very attractive!

weeonion · 28/10/2014 20:14

Hey pinkie - hope all is well with / for you!!

robindeer · 29/10/2014 10:08

Hi all, sorry for the delayed update. I think I'm just completely overwhelmed! Baby William was born by caesarean last Wednesday weighing 8lb 11oz. The c section wasn't unpleasant but I did feel sad. Sat having the canula put in, all those people in their various scrubs, the bright lights... It just felt so unnatural. The important thing is that my son is here, happy and healthy (and absolutely gorgeous!) There is no way I could have delivered him naturally safely, so I just need to get over it!

Lots of luck to all of you still waiting. Not long now!

Captainmcgraw · 29/10/2014 13:28

Hi ladies just wanted to say hi to those still waiting. Hoping you're not too uncomfortable and miserable. It's strange how quickly you feel removed from those end of pregnancy days once you are caught upon the newborn days (or daze). You'll all be in the same place soon!
