No tens??Shock don't think I would have coped without. Luckily the contractions have slowly gathered in frequency.

cabster · 19/10/2014 14:39

James Robert was born on Friday morning at 6:35am! 9lb 9oz Shock which was a little unexpected. He looks like a right grumpy little old soul but he's a real sweetheart, feeding lustily and strong as an ox.

Short birth story: irregular contractions on Thursday afternoon which became regular and more intense towards teatime. Decided about 11pm I couldn't hack much more pain, went to triage and was 5cm so up to delivery suite (no water room was available and needed monitoring due to polyhydramniwatsit). Quickly caved and demanded epidural as I was petrified, the lovely mws persuaded me to try diamorphine instead and after 30min of pushing (including James' massive face getting a bit stuck) he came out with a little tear and a few stitches. Much better birth experience than with DD.

There is hope ladies!

Well done Cabster! Grin

Lily31 · 19/10/2014 17:43

Congratulations cabster. He sounds like a healthy squish.

kitty, I hope you've found some other coping mechanisms. How frustrating!
Am assuming things may have progressed for binky.

Sounds promising pusscous, hopefully not much longer for you!

Clocking in, will be 39 weeks tomorrow, so a potential 3 weeks left...

kittyvet · 19/10/2014 18:17

Thanks lily. Still at home with contractions slowly getting stronger and more freq. on about 5 mins now. Have rung triage and been told to leave it to 3 in 10 mins if poss. Would not have coped with juju book- so glad I read it!

kittyvet · 19/10/2014 18:17

*without!!!

ohthegoats · 19/10/2014 18:32

I also read the Juju book - I did the feet stamping thing - really focussed on the noise my feet made on the floor, and counted my breathing along with the 'stamping'. Especially good on lino at the hospital.

Good luck!

Congratulations cabster, sounds like a great story.

Pregnantagain7 · 19/10/2014 18:58

Yay cabster congratulations he sounds yummy Flowers

Lily31 · 19/10/2014 20:00

Not been told about this JuJu book... Might be a little bit late to the party?!

Sounds promising kitty. Not long for you I reckon. Fx

Missus2ndwife · 19/10/2014 23:43

Little nameless baby born rather suddenly on Saturday evening at 22h44 weighing 7lbs4

After a slow start my waters broke around 3pm. Contractions started shortly thereafter. Around 7pm they said I was 1cm dialated but in serious amounts of pain so they gave me pethidine (apparently no gas and air in that part of ward).

MW sent hubbie home at 9.15pm to rest as we 'had a long night ahead' of us (it will be 'another 10hrs at least' they said). Around 9.30pm my contractions ramp up and I am suddenly transitioning!! By 10pm they're wheeling me off to the delivery room & phoning hubbie to return back to hospital. Luckily we only live 25mins away as
Hubbie makes it back just as his son was being born!!

After the shock, he is absolutely divine and mommy is totally in love. Dad is still coming to terms with the fact he's a father again Grin

pusscous · 20/10/2014 00:31

Congratulations canister, binky and missus.

I'm still here and just left hospital after 3 hours. Phoned OB and went in when contractions were 4-5 min apart lasting for over a minute. Very intense pain. Left it hours to make sure as contractions keep subsiding. Examined on arrival 1cm! Contraction monitor shows contractions no more than 2 minutes apart and nurse thought wow. Checked after 2 hours and 1/2cm progress. Monitoring shows should be in transition but no. No quick labour for me. Shockjave gone home to help progress or dilation.

YellowWellies · 20/10/2014 01:45

Congrats Binky and Missus !

Good luck Pusscous try to remember dilation isn't linear and you might dilate the next few cm much quicker Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

YellowWellies · 20/10/2014 01:46

And congrats Cabster and anyone else I've missed xx

CellyD · 20/10/2014 01:52
