Congratulations binky and missus! Good luck pusscous.

Am 39 weeks today. Soooo not enjoying night times anymore. Going to start eviction measures towards the end of the week: spicy meals, sex, feel good films - bring it on!

DGLB · 20/10/2014 08:58

Congratulations to all the new mums Smile

I'm 40 weeks today & spent all of last night with constant period pain (didn't come in waves) paracetamol didn't help & I have no idea if it's a sign as I was induced with dd & ds, have got midwife today for a sweep so hoping something is going on.....

Lily31 · 20/10/2014 09:39

Congratulations missus!

Snap lulu, 39 weeks today. Going to try and do chores to keep moving today. Hoping my hip pain stays at bay.

kittyvet · 20/10/2014 09:47

Laura Rose 7lb 15 born at 5.18am after 3 hours of pushing as she was occipital transverse. Narrowly avoided instruments and Caesarian. All done on gas and air. Only complication was 2nd degree tear and stitches but I don't care a bit as she is perfect!

Lily31 · 20/10/2014 09:58

Awww kitty, congratulations! Wow, all on gas and air...!

Enjoy your newborn cuddles with Laura Rose. Lovely name.

YellowWellies · 20/10/2014 09:59

Kitty well done!!!! My sisters first was in that position its agony and they often get stuck - she needed an EMCS and a blood transfusion! You're hardcore!

Pinkie2103 · 20/10/2014 10:22

I'm still here. 39+1 and hoping for a VBAC so not in any rush just yet as I'm trying to avoid intervention of any kind. Having said that my waters broke at 40 weeks with DS (and then nothing happened) so I'm not sure how I'll feel if I go too far over

Finished most of the cleaning now so don't have much left to do. Time to start watching the box-sets!

Congratulations kitty, binky, missus and good luck pusscous!

fedupofrainydays · 20/10/2014 10:28

Congrats cabster, binky kitty and missus and good luck to pusscous!

Hope you are all doing well those of you in the last stages of pregnancy. Not long to go now Smile thinking of you all xx

Missus2ndwife · 20/10/2014 10:53

Congrats to all the new mummies!! It's the most wonderful feeling having a baby!!

Yes Bump I was also due at the end of October however at my 38week scan, they discovered my amnio fluid was very low and induced me.

No surprise I have a lazy baby here who wants everything done for him! We are struggling to get him to feed & initially blamed it on low blood sugar, but even now he wants to be fed versus doing the work!! We are now on a formula programme whilst I try express.
I really want to go home today so fingers crossed they feel strong enough to go home

xx

FlipFantasia · 20/10/2014 12:39

Congrats Kitty!

Lulu298 · 20/10/2014 14:50

Congratulations kittyvet!

STIGZ · 20/10/2014 16:16

Congratz to all the new mummies!! Flowers ... Enjoy every minute xx

BingoBango85 · 20/10/2014 16:26

Seen midwife today & couldn't feel head for 2nd week in a row (last week ended in trip to hosp as suspected breach that wasn't) therefore one can only presume baby engaged.
Does this mean labour is imminent ladies in the know? Edd Thursday Grin Been having loads of constant period pain & lots of poops lol

pebble82 · 20/10/2014 17:31

Congrats to the new mummies.

Is anyone still overdue? Or am I the only one? 6 days over now.

Kirstipops · 20/10/2014 19:46

Hey ladies, just had to do another epic catch up! Congratulations on all the new arrivals! I hope you overdue preggos meet your babies soon and other ladies due in the next couple of weeks aren't too miserable and impatient.

Anyone debating getting a TENS machine I definitely recommend it, even the boost button during a contraction is a nice distraction to focus on :)

pebble82 · 20/10/2014 20:03

Thanks Kirstipops. I wasn't sure but caved and bought mine last week. Figured even if I don't use it I can take it back unopened or sell it on ebay. Got the Obi Tens one with boost button.

When did you put it on? After first contraction or when they start to get more intense?

kittyvet · 20/10/2014 20:21

Thanks guys! Been getting to grips with breast feeding today. Welcome to any new babies I missed whilst in labour and to those still waiting... It won't be long until you are enjoying new born cuddles! Xxx

Lily31 · 20/10/2014 20:28

I keep vomiting, just wondering if anyone else in late pregnancy is/has experienced this? Not sure if it's ok or not...

ohthegoats · 20/10/2014 20:36

I spent the first part of labour/contractions rocking on my hands and knees while watching comedy on telly (allegedly to get oxytocin flowing), then I spent about 3 hours in the bath until things got to more than one every 5 minutes, then got out and went onto TENs - which I used right up until I got in the birth pool about 6 hours later. I also used the whole stamping feet thing and breathing combo from Juju Wotsits birth skills.

kittyvet · 20/10/2014 21:04

Ditto to that goats. Mainly stamping and counting from juju with one very long shower until I got to hosp where they lent me a TENS until I went on gas and air in the pool. Those of you still to go and not read Juju it's worth it just to get some ideas about how to cope with your pain even if you don't get lots of time to practice!

Shirehobbit · 20/10/2014 21:42

Evening all.
I officially left the overdue club this lunchtime when our daughter made a somewhat dramatic arrival on a wheelchair after a super speedy labour (be careful what you wish for!)
We're all well (though DH may be scarred for life) but they're keeping us in overnight, just to be sure.

Hope all other labouring mums are doing ok and those waiting are as comfortable as possible.
(Lily31 - I was sick last week, and nausea had plagued me since, which is very rare for me)

Lily31 · 20/10/2014 21:47

Congratulations shire! Sounds like you've had a bit of a whirlwind birth. Hope you're all ok? Enjoy your baby girl.

Someone said sickness can be a sign of pre labour... Not getting too hopeful though.

binkybunny · 20/10/2014 23:18

Quick post as trying to sleep while Issy is, but gets the Tens, mine was amazing in the early stages and had everything gone smoothly would have been a lot better! I waiting until contractions were definitely happening as I was worried it may stall them.

Kirstipops · 21/10/2014 00:32

Yep i waited til contractions were growing more intense but were still at a manageable stage if you know what I mean, it apparently takes about 40mins for your body to produce endorphins as a result of the electrical pulses so I didn't want to leave it too late. I mainly laboured on a birthing ball as my contractions were strongest in my upper thighs and hips so standing wasn't an option for me as I felt my legs would buckle underneath me. I'm posting my TENS back tomorrow, I did all but salute the thing as I boxed it up Grin
