Good news binky. Maybe she's just running out of room?

Hope everyone's hanging in and feeling ok today. My hairdresser friend came round earlier so I've had my hair done which was a nice way to break up lounging on the sofa time.

puppythedog · 16/10/2014 18:59

Quick post, we're homeGrin

puppythedog · 16/10/2014 19:01

Glad all. Okay Binky.

The thedogs are home

FlipFantasia · 16/10/2014 19:37

Glad to hear all is ok Binky.

pusscous · 16/10/2014 20:36

Glad to hear all ok binky. My monitoring on Tuesday showed the same, doctors and nurses not worried, there is a distinct lack room. Her movements picked up yesterday she was really energetic for a 12 hour period? Today movements enough not to worry too much. I actually just want her out now so we don't have this constant worry and need to have lots of monitoring- don't mind the monitoring it'd just the dilemma about asking for help.

kittyvet · 16/10/2014 20:55

To sweep or not to sweep that is the question... What do you guys reckon?
Saw my midwife today at 40 + 4 and she informed me I would be automatically booked for induction at 40 + 12 although I can go for monitoring and discussion first on that day. I asked about sweeping (she didn't suggest it) and she said yes to book in for that too. What are you opinions on sweep? I am hoping it will prevent me needing a chemical induction, which I want to avoid at all costs... But what if the sweeps don't work- am I then obliged to go for induction or can I request expectant monitoring??
I would of asked my MW but she got distracted by being concerned about baby possibly being breech and I was sent to hosp for scan... Cue 1 hour wait in the day unit and very busy doctor who didn't have time to discuss anything else. Left wondering whether I should have a sweep or not. (They booked me in for Sun and Tues).
Sorry for long post- what do you guys think?

Grannyapple · 16/10/2014 21:05

Hi kitty I'm only due today but I already have a sweep booked in for Sunday. I'm hoping for a home birth but last two babies have cooked til 40+9 & 40+11. I've had an induction booked last time but waters have gone the day before so have managed to avoid them. Although many have great induction experiences, I too am trying to avoid one but if I have to go down that route then so be it x

Grannyapple · 16/10/2014 21:07

Ps I had 2 sweeps last time...2nd one with some dtd, & cleaning on all 4's got DD out!

binkybunny · 16/10/2014 21:20

Kitty I'm booked in for a sweep tomorrow, not looking forward to it but the threat of induction next Wednesday is worse.

My baby has been having a good push, trying to get out of my belly button again this evening. She seems to have enjoyed the small glass of wine I had with dinner!

kittyvet · 16/10/2014 22:31

Thanks Granny and Binky. Thinking like you that sweeps might be lesser of 2 evils :)

Missus2ndwife · 17/10/2014 11:50

Well ladies, my consultant called and wants to induce me now.
She's reviewed my scan and feels levels are too low, with risks etc she doesn't want to leave it until after the weekend.

Hoping for a smooth and safe delivery.

Xx

Just dropping in to say we're still alive out here! I've managed a couple of posts on fb but that's about it!

fatpony · 17/10/2014 14:53

Good luck missus!

Lily31 · 17/10/2014 15:59

Hope all goes well for you missus.

Met with the midwife this morning, everything is going well. Baby is still 'free'. Definitely think I am in for the long haul! I have such a great midwifery team. We discussed post date options and she just asked what I wanted. Have agreed to sweeps, told her I want avoid induction. She said that's fine. I can go for an outpatient pessary induction if I want to after trying 3 sweeps. If not I can be monitored and go over 42 weeks.

So glad it was such an easy conversation. I really feel for those who have a battle with this. I have my fingers crossed for those who are waiting for things to kick off.

If I have to go for an induction in the end, I'm keeping focused on meeting my bubba and that's what it will mean. I can't wait!

kittyvet · 17/10/2014 16:07

How did your sweep go binky?

Lulu298 · 17/10/2014 16:31

Good luck missus!

Lily31, your midwife team sound fab.

Just looking at breast pumps - anyone got any recommendations?

binkybunny · 17/10/2014 16:51

Good luck missus!

Sweep went fine, mainly uncomfortable, just a tiny bit of pain but she could feel the babies head nice and low. I'm now booked in for induction next Wednesday, hoping she arrives before then! Just been for a walk and lots of back and period type pains. We'll see if they amount to anything though.

kittyvet · 17/10/2014 17:23

Glad to hear binky
