Same here shire even tho today is only due date...was just hoping this 3rd one would be on time/early as sis is down to help out with childcare & she leaves in Sunday..

DH has been happily volunteering his services in order to get things moving...the last time, I went into labour the next day but that was after a sweep the previous day too so who knows!

Both munchkins are in nursery today so lots of walking & cleaning on my hands & knees today me thinks!

porcito · 16/10/2014 06:48

Sorry I missed missus ' post. Yes, had the C section due to low fluid so definitely worth going back if you haven't already. The doctor wasn't worried in a 'we need to get her out right now' sense, but scheduled it for the next morning. Nothing was wrong, she said it sometimes just stops earlier than it should. Good luck!

Missus2ndwife · 16/10/2014 06:54

Thank you ladies for your reassurance! When you're in it (ie the appointment) it's hard to know what to do and I didn't have my hubbie there (typical! The one appointment I said he didn't need to come)

I have contacted my consultant at her private office to get her thoughts and will ring the midwives unit to ask to be checked again.

I appreciate consultants are busy but my gut instinct is I should be monitored.

Will keep you posted

Xx

Hope you get some reassurance missus

Think I'll be calling mlu this morning, had a little but not much movement over 24 hours and still quite wet down there, although nothing like the other night. Just feel I need some reassurance all is ok, I'll be 41 weeks tomorrow and its making me nervous!

clops2000 · 16/10/2014 08:09

Thanks for the info goats, still no movement here so I'm off for first monitoring today. It'll be nice to be reassured that everything's still fine I guess. Not sure I'll hold out much longer than monday/ tues though if he doesn't arrive by then. Off for acupuncture after the appt so hoping that will get things moving...I just need some stronger contractions baby, that's all I'm asking for!
Anyone else had success with acupuncture starting contractions in past?

puppythedog · 16/10/2014 08:47

Good luck getting some propper answers and help both of you.

Granny, our due date buddy (waves) fingers crossed things move for you soon.

Might be able to take my girls home today.

Grannyapple · 16/10/2014 08:53

Cheers puppy...fingers crossed they're discharged this morning then...take some time just the 3 of you if you can, before the visitors onslaught begins x

binkybunny · 16/10/2014 09:58

So I called the mlu an hour ago, who were too busy to take my call and gave me the number for the day care unit. I've tried a few times and left a voicemail, how long should I give it before calling the mlu again? I've had no real movement this morning and getting a bit worried now but I don't want to bug them if they're busy, esp if I get there and she starts to dance!

puppythedog · 16/10/2014 10:00

Call again now I think. 1 hour is long enough to not get at least the beginnings of help.

binkybunny · 16/10/2014 10:21

Tried calling again, spoke to a ward sister so still now waiting for a call back!

binkybunny · 16/10/2014 11:46

Aaargh still waiting and still no movement. It's been 3 hours since my first call and 6 hours since I woke up and realised there had been no movement since last night!

puppythedog · 16/10/2014 11:51

If you just head down there it would take a brave professional to send you away without checking everything is okay. I'm sure everything is okay it feeling your worry. Good luck, can you speak to supervisor of midwives?

YellowWellies · 16/10/2014 11:57

Binky I'd just go to triage my love. I'm sure everything is fine but every time I went for monitoring they told me off for not going earlier.

FlipFantasia · 16/10/2014 12:17

Binky definitely head to triage. I know it's a drive for you, so bring your hospital bag too. Am sure all is well and you'll be home soon. Can't believe you've not had a call back.

ohthegoats · 16/10/2014 12:36

Yep, I'd just turn up there too. Hope it goes ok.

cabster · 16/10/2014 13:18

What they said binky. They'll not mind.

Well having had a sweep and a good old rummage, mw has proclaimed me 2-3cm dilated. Baby's head is right down and it's just a matter of time now! Induction is booked for Monday just in case, but I'm having irregular pains so it's off for a walk I go while my mum takes DD to Rhyme Time. Not sure I'll make it all the way round the village without pissing myself but it's good to live in hope...!

STIGZ · 16/10/2014 13:34

binky try drinking a glass of fresh orange juice while you wait ... But deffo just go and demand to be seen !! You must be worried sick, thinking of you xxx

bumpbangbump · 16/10/2014 13:39

I agree. Head down the binky, peace of mind is priceless!

binkybunny · 16/10/2014 14:08

Finally just been strapped into the monitor, I called and spoke to the supervisor in the end but have been left waiting for an hour and half since getting here without anyone speaking to me. Can hear heartbeat but still not much movement.

Shirehobbit · 16/10/2014 14:31

Hugs, Binky - glad you're being seen and hope all is ok x

ohthegoats · 16/10/2014 15:08

Fingers crossed cabster. Not long until you are no longer pregnant!

Missus2ndwife · 16/10/2014 16:39

So my consultant doesn't seem concerned and my doctor friend said if they're not worried then they can't think my waters have broken. My doctor friend just said watch for reduced movement.

I have decided I am not going to get stressed about it and will wait and see.

Thank you to all for your reassurance, you ladies ROCK !!

Binky andCabster - hope you're both OK too.

xx

binkybunny · 16/10/2014 17:11

Finally back home, parents took me for a late lunch. She's still not really moving much but mw and doctor happy with the monitoring. I'm seeing my normal mw tomorrow when I'll have a sweep and be booked in for induction (or cs if I get my own way) next Wednesday.

I agree with missus you guys are amazing, thanks for the support today Grin

CellyD · 16/10/2014 17:12

Missus glad you have been able to get advice from your consultant. Binky and Cabster good luck.

CellyD · 16/10/2014 17:13

Cross post, that's good news binky.
