39 weeks tomorrow. Have 38 week midwife appt today at 2pm. Getting cramps, nervy pains and sensation of baby burrowing down every day on and off but not progressing further. My energy levels seem to have improved slightly though and I'm less miserable, which I'm sure my poor DH is glad of! Two of my friends have had their baby's this week so I'm going for newborn cuddles with one later which will be lovely.

Lulu298 · 15/10/2014 12:02

Still expecting here too. Just back from my midwife appointment. Am 38+2. Booked in for a sweep at 40+1 and then can have another one the following week if I want to/is needed. Apparently inductions are booked in for EDD +12 automatically.

Feel ok though not sure how I'll feel at 40 weeks! Might make those cookies today!

Congrats to all the new mummies!

cabster · 15/10/2014 12:46

Baby's going nuts today. No proper action though!

On the subject of the lactation cookies - where did anyone get their brewer's yeast from? My local H&B tried to sell me a big tub of pills. Not quite what I was after.

clops2000 · 15/10/2014 13:08

Still waiting here too. 41+6 today according to scan dates. Start daily monitoring from tomorrow - did you end up doing that goats or did you just narrowly avoid it with Pippa's arrival?
BHs must be real contractions now that I'm 4cm at least, last night they came approx every 8 mins for hours but I still woke up without anything to show for it!
Apparently my sister, who has 3 kids, had less than 2hr labours for all 3 so I'm preparing myself for going quickly when I do go! Hoping that the false starts will follow through tonight and avoid having to go in for monitoring...
Anyone else with babies have experience of being 4cm prior to labour starting? the books say that i'm in the 'active labour' stage at 4cm but it doesn't bloody feel very active!

robindeer · 15/10/2014 13:17

I'm still here missus, cs booked in for next Weds. Odd feeling knowing that this time next week I'll be someone's mother!

Congratulations to all the new mums, loving the photos.

binkybunny · 15/10/2014 13:31

Still here missus, 40+5 sweep on Friday and will be booked in for induction/ cs next Wed.

Spent all morning cleaning, I hope I'm nesting if not I'm losing the plot, I was hoovering the doors Shock

Laid down with an ice lolly hoping to feel movement now as realised not felt any this morning but have been busy.

fatpony · 15/10/2014 13:46

Binky, hoovering the doors cracked me up! I realised I lost the plot when last Thurs I cleaned thoroughly IN ADVANCE of our lovely cleaner coming... I was like, it's got to be done by ME!

CellyD · 15/10/2014 13:51

Congratulations magic, a lovely name choice. Good luck clops it sounds promising.

Lily31 · 15/10/2014 14:15

Congratulations all the new mummies. Gorgeous pics too!

Checking in at 38 +3 (I think)... Not feeling a twinge. Baby is settled and I can deal with that for a couple more weeks - then I will be doing everything possible to evict lo.

Went to a very well delivered BF workshop this morning. I am totally hormonal at the moment and swing from loving and nurturing feelings. I got quite attached to the plastic baby at the workshop Hmm. To anxiety and fear about becoming a mummy and hoping that DH and I will be ok. Poor DH, he is dealing with the brunt of it.

binky loving the door hoovering. I'm clearly not getting the nesting instinct yet...

clops I was chatting to a new mum yesterday who literally got to 8cm without realising she was in active labour. Once in delivery she gave birth in 15 mins. Good luck, things sound promising.

BingoBango85 · 15/10/2014 15:14

Can't work out if beginning of something or if I've just pulled a muscle walking the dog! Only on right side of lower tummy but made me walk at snails pace & had to keep stopping. Any thoughts ladies?

SummerDreams13 · 15/10/2014 17:29

I'm still around too - Binky, sounds like we're in the same boat! Am 40+6 and thoroughly fed up. Have period style cramps at the front under the bump all the time and have had for last 2-3 weeks. Am also having v irregular contractions, but no show and no increase as yet. Steeling myself for induction now Hmm think I'm getting to a slightly hysterical stage of 'it's never going to come out...'

Lily31 · 15/10/2014 17:52

I'm afraid I don't know enough bingo. Fingers crossed it's the start for you. My left hand lower abdomen is achey, but I think it's my ligaments.

Missus2ndwife · 15/10/2014 18:11

Yay to all the other soon to be mommies out there still waiting with me!

I've had a frustrating afternoon at the hospital as my consultant was called away. The scan revealed my amnio fluid is now low and they think my waters have gone BUT they did an inspection and couldn't tell. This doctor has suggested I go back next week and see my consultant.

I feel really upset now. What happens if my waters have gone and I get an infection? I'm worried about having to wait a week and something going wrong. Has anyone else past or present experienced this? What should I do?

Missus2ndwife · 15/10/2014 18:12

Bingo sounds like round ligament pain to me. You might want to ring your hospital or MW to check

Shirehobbit · 15/10/2014 18:30

I would suggest ligaments/baby position, too bingo - I'm getting lots of sharp pains around there, now, but I guess it's just getting heavier and heavier. I'd check with your mw if you're worried though.

I wouldn't be happy with that kind of casual response, missus - is it worth trying to get a day assessment or go to triage, tomorrow? I think it was Portico who was induced due to low amniotic fluid, so she may know more.

YellowWellies · 15/10/2014 18:47

Missus I'd have another 'uncertain if its waters going' incident and go back to triage to be checked properly - you don't want to risk strep or another infection.

puppythedog · 15/10/2014 18:55

Another 'go back' from me, if waters have gone you can't wait a week. Even if the midwife is just better at explaining why not to be worried it would be worth it. Doctors can be shit.

Lily31 · 15/10/2014 19:33

missus - seconding the others. Who assessed you in hospital? Can you make out of hours contact with your midwifery team? Ringers crossed and rooting for you.

Lily31 · 15/10/2014 19:34

*fingers!

BingoBango85 · 15/10/2014 19:36

Seems to have stopped & I've managed a massive amount of my 'leftovers pie' so hope I don't go into labour. Lol. Baby v v active tho.

ohthegoats · 15/10/2014 19:47

clops - I had one 'daily monitoring' appointment last Friday. They booked me in for induction the next day, even though I didn't want that appointment. They also sent me to the delivery suite for a sweep - ultimately this was the thing that started labour, although I think it would only have taken an extra day had I not had that sweep. I didn't turn up at the booked induction appointment. They told me that I had to sort myself out for further monitoring, and go to maternity assessment - which is triage for delivery, so realistically I'd have been pressurised every day to stay and be induced.

STIGZ · 15/10/2014 23:05

No more babies yetHmm

cabster · 15/10/2014 23:05

Another day done, my uterus has managed a grand total of 4 contractions.

Go team.

Tomorrow is the dreaded sweep and "induction chat" appointment...

cabster · 15/10/2014 23:06

A couple on FB stigz but my memory for people's RL v MN names is shocking!

Shirehobbit · 16/10/2014 05:48

There's been a flurry of FB arrivals. I'm feeling very left behind now in the Pregnant Forever Club.
