OK, we're home... Pip completely unable to settle today, too much prodding/poking/being only a day old. I get out the Boba sling and ta daaaa.. sparko for hours. Hopefully she'll wake up ready to feed for hours too and I'll start to relax. Photo attached. My doula took photos - scary gynaecological ones in there too I notice - I'm not ready to see those ones yet. Erk.

Goats slings are a bloody wonderful invention! Today I managed to bake a batch of dairy free cookies with the toddler, do two loads of washing and run around play group thanks to the sling.

ohthegoats · 14/10/2014 20:26

Have I missed an update from mrsb somewhere or is there still radio silence?

Pregnantagain7 · 14/10/2014 21:02

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing ok goats she is beautiful congratulations.
Little Rocco is doing great charming his sisters and dodging flying toothbrushes being thrown at him by his big brother Confused
I feel battered and bruised today hopefully it will start to ease over the next couple of days.
Dp going back to work tomorrow :( but my mum staying so at least I've bit some help not really the same but there is nothing we can do about so there is no point getting upset about it.
Sending lots of labour dust to everyone waiting :)

Professor Brian Cox is on telly talking about cricket... I think I want that playing in the delivery suite as my child comes into the world!

Shirehobbit · 14/10/2014 21:51

Still waiting, here

I was sick today, and I'm never, ever sick. So I am wondering if things are getting ready to kick off - but I am crossing my fingers for a good night's rest and a sneeze labour tomorrow Wink

Congratulations to all the new mums x

binkybunny · 14/10/2014 22:19

Mamami · 14/10/2014 22:19

Ooh mundy I've just seen baby Etta - what a beauty! Etta was too of my list but OH said no. Beautiful name.

Mamami · 14/10/2014 22:20

*top. Oh breastfeeding and typing isn't easy.

Happytimes31 · 14/10/2014 22:46

Thank you goats v helpful. Thinking things might be happening, seem to be every 8 mins now. Although not bump pain just lower back and inside so who knows. Painful though!

pusscous · 15/10/2014 00:06

39+1 have a softening cervix but no real change in the last two weeks. Ob has just sent me for monitoring- reduced movements in last few days. So sat beung monitored everything else fine. Very impatient to meet her now.

magichandles · 15/10/2014 08:07

Congratulations everyone, I need to spend an hour or so updating myself on everyone's news. Hopefully things will get going soon for those who are still waiting.

I have announced on FB already but for here - Edith (Edie) Evelyn was born at 0519 on 11.10.14 (8lbs) after a rather intense and painful induction. She had some fluid on her lungs when she wa born and the umbilical cord bloods showed she had been without oxygen for a period at some point during the birth, so she's been in SCBU since, but we should get her home today - no on has been really worried about her and it's been mostly precautionary.

I was hyper stimulated for a while during labour, which is probably when the oxygen problems happened, and then she came out back to back but managed only a small tear that didn't need suturing and was walking over to special care a couple of hours after having her. One night in a side room and I was home.

Fully expecting to get her home today, and she can finally meet her sister and brother who are too young to go onto SCBU to meet her.

Pregnantagain7 · 15/10/2014 08:21

Congratulations magic fingers crossed you get hope today. It's such a special moment when your other children meet the baby (as I'm sure you know already!)
My two girls are besotted and my boy (13 months) just keeps looking at him and laughing!! Very cute :)

cabster · 15/10/2014 08:46

Congratulations magic! Pleased to hear she's doing well. Smile

ohthegoats · 15/10/2014 09:20

Congratulations magic I love the name Edith but it is already in our family so we couldn't use it. Well done for getting through anyyhing described as 'intense'... I just can't imagine.

Pip's our first, but her cousins are gagging to see her on Face Time - the 3 year old rang yesterday shouting Pippa Pippa Pippa down the phone. Cute.

Today's exciting development is that I survived a post birth poo!! Lots if wincing and hanging on to lady garden area with sanitary towel, all very dignified. Haha.

Oh, another thing that seemed to help is arnica pills - I'm not very bruised apparently. (I haven't looked yet, this is mw talking).

MundayCakes85 · 15/10/2014 09:55

Goats I don't think I'm brave enough to look either! My method is just sit there long enough and something might happen- wasn't as awful as I'd expected Blush
Congratulations magic hope your family gets to be together soon x

Missus2ndwife · 15/10/2014 09:57

Congrats Magic and welcome baby Edith Grin

Goats you continue to crack me up with your visuals! Under orders from my OH who actually read the NCT notes, I've purchased bran and prunes for post birth brekkies

I am 38weeks today, was having some period like pains last night but only a dull ache today. I am hoping this is the start of my baby's arrival.
Have consultant appointment this afternoon and thinking maybe I should take hospital bag along too (I don't know why, just a feeling).

Who else is still left to have babies?

kittyvet · 15/10/2014 10:51

Congrats Magic!
40+ 3 and counting missus!

Shirehobbit · 15/10/2014 10:55

Me, (39+4 or 40+2, depending on which scan date you use).
Vomiting clear out hasn't led to anything.

Pinkie2103 · 15/10/2014 10:56

38+3 today and off to see the midwife in 20 mins. Nothing really happening here but I'm generally feeling OK (just!) so don't mind waiting a little longer. Might think differently when I hit 40 weeks though!
