And despite still doing a decent amount of exercise I've also put on about a stone. Possibly, just possibly, it could be because I am enjoying an obscene amount of cake and chocolate...

Guntons · 24/10/2014 16:49

Rainbow would you mind updating my details on the spreadsheet as I only have iPad & phone access for time being? I'm booked for csect on 16th March. Also got my 20w scan on 4th nov! Cannot wait!
Finally felt definite movements last night, which have continued today Smile
Had a bit of a rubbish end to term yesterday - my students had all done really well in their assignments so I was feeling really happy and then in my office just before I left some colleagues had a rather loud and obnoxious conversation about how terrible 'breeding' is, and that producing off-spring is simply the most appalling thing they could possibly imagine! Why would anyone want a helpless, snotty, dribbling poo-machine dependant on them?? And they really weren't joking!
Although it's not common knowledge that I'm pregnant, it's pretty obvious, and I was really upset on the way home. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it just made me really uncomfortable as I've only been there 5 wks & haven't really made any friends yet Sad
Anyway a week off now to hopefully forget about it, spend some quality time with DS1 who got a brilliant progress report from school & is doing much better in reception than I ever imagined he would Grin
And 3 of my close friends are also expecting (in April)! Sooooo excited about that as for 2 of them it's their first! There will be some serious baby shopping done in the jan sales I can tell you!
Hope everyone is feeling ok, sorry durham to hear you've been admitted again. I can't get excited about prams etc as we will be re-using pretty much everything we had for DS1, as we had a surprise with him so all our bits are neutral colour. Although I will be jazzing them up with bright girlie fabric & accessories, particularly if my suspicions are confirmed at 20w scan!

BlueberryWafer · 24/10/2014 17:12

I've lost 2 stone so far through sickness, probably not a bad thing as I was a bit overweight to start with, but not that great in the sense I've essentially been starving my baby Hmm they had me on lots of vitamin drips in my hospital stays so touch wood the baby is developing well!

lotsoftoast · 24/10/2014 17:20

miffy I had an anterior placenta last time and no issue with 4d scan

I know a Lucia and an Arianna - both beautiful names and children!

Hi, I too have been lurking on here for a while now but have been too nervous about this whole pregnancy thing to post so far! It's been so comforting to read everyone's going through similar ups and downs though.

I had my 20 week scan yesterday-all is as it should be so I think I'm finally going to let myself relax a little and start enjoying being pregnant!

ZylaB · 24/10/2014 18:39

Hey,

We went to the baby show and love the new vista, the order is in! Apparently I'll get it in feb so should be in time (just!) for those who asked, they've improved the fold and brakes and welding, also the new bassinet looks neater and you can remove bits for washing more easily. It looks fab as a double, so gives us the option of using it if we have another, but still lovely as a single. The purple, is a little pinky, but as we're having a girl I love it! Sales pitch over hehe, we also got loads of other stuff, so I'm knackered but we did really well.

Roll on wed for scan and fx everything is ok!

Gudgyx · 24/10/2014 19:34

Aw id love to go to a baby show! Anyone know if there's going to be one in Glasgow or Edinburgh anytime soon?

Also, how do you actually say Lucia? I like it as Lucy-ah, but I dunno if the proper way is that, Loocheea or Loosea!

Rainbow555 · 24/10/2014 20:10

guntons I sure can! I will try and do a roundup today I will have to write a note as my memory is appalling at the moment! We are scan buddies! I can't wait!

How ripped of your colleagues! Like u say though every one is entitled to an opinion shame they had to voice it so loudly. Try to not take it personally, I am sure there are others that think it's amazing thing to do. To be honest I have been surprised by the rude comments from ppl to my face since the news got out at work! I have been pretty anxious about the size of my butt after one comment!!.....

It's great that friends are expecting too, 3 more have come out at work so we might try to start our own coffee group :)

gudgy to be honest I am not doing much exercise either. It sounds like some of us can and others are just too tired. I guess we are all different and just have to take it as it comes. I wanted to stay active but get out of breath so easily! Greta news on scan!

Hello to other newbies now feeling safe enough to join :)

misty it's just under £700, but I figure if we have a second baby I won't need to get a new pram, just get the new rumble seat (and purple!!)

Zyla You have sold me! I am going to get the new vista. I need to see where I can get it from around here. Last time I went into John Lewis they didnt even know there was a new model coming out!

Had our 20 week scan today! We are having a little boy! We are very happy. Baby was healthy and trying to suck his thumb. Very cute. We have picked our name....Jacob William. :)

ZylaB · 24/10/2014 21:17

Lovely name MGFM :)

MGFM · 24/10/2014 21:34

Thanks. I hope he looks like a Jacob! lol

KentExpecting · 24/10/2014 21:39

I want the Uppababy Cruz, but can't find out when the newer version of that is coming out in UK. Do any of you know?

MGFM · 24/10/2014 21:42

I have asked a question about the Vista on the Uppababy UK Facebook page..you could try that.

M27J5M · 24/10/2014 21:45

Aww that's lovely mgfm Smile Jacob is the name my ds asked for if we have a boy

FruitySalad · 25/10/2014 09:25

Hello! Another newbie lurker coming out of the woodwork. Is it to late to join in? A quick intro, pfb due 23rd March, 20w scan on 7th Nov, still nauseous, craving a rare steak and glass of wine, but having to settle for gallons of ginger beer and monster munch...please don't judge me

Guntons · 25/10/2014 09:45

Hi fruitysalad, that made me laugh! I know the feeling Hmm
Can't find my post re names from last night Confused? Did anyone see it?

Lifeisabeach · 25/10/2014 12:05

Welcome fruitysalad, you're my due date buddy :-) My scan's on 5th Nov, not too long to wait now.

FruitySalad · 25/10/2014 13:29

Hello Lifeisabeach and Guntons,

I swear I never touched monster munch previously...

Lifeisabeach - are you finding out girl or boy? I am, on the basis that being pregnant (as planned and eagerly awaited this baby will be) is surprise enough! I'm thinking its a boy.

Guntons - starting a new job is always a toughie, keep strong Thanks

M27J5M · 25/10/2014 13:42

I never seen your post on names when I caught up on here last night/this morning!

My little jellybean obv knows sat is a day to party as he/she has not stopped punching/kicking since 8am!

M27J5M · 25/10/2014 13:42

And welcome fruity :)

3isthemajicnumber · 25/10/2014 19:53

Welcome fruity.
I'm in my pjs and it's 7.45. Ha ha.
Rock and roll.
Please can you all reassure me. I getting very little movement. I had a me appointment last weds and got a lovely heart beat but lack of movement is such a worry. Dd I didn't get any till I think week 23 but ds I had loads of movement from week 16. I'm 21+1. Are there others out there with no movements?

FruitySalad · 25/10/2014 20:24

Hi M27, 3, thanks for the welcome Smile

3, I'm not getting a lot of movement either (apart from gentle flutters), but scans and heart beat are all fine. I'm 19 weeks on Monday so just assuming that baby is bidding their time. A quick Dr Google suggests that kicks can take up to 22 weeks, but everyone is different. I'd phone you mw if it's worrying you
