Afternoon everyone, its been a while since I last posted on this thread I hope everyone is well.

Well after a very ropey few weeks since being discharged from hospital with hg today has been the first day I have felt relatively OK. I even managed a little walk to our local shop for some fresh air, a real achievement! I'm hoping at 19+4 weeks that this may be the first sign of improvement... Fingers crossed!

Quick question though, has anyone else been suffering from severe insomnia? It seems like I am unable to more than 3 hours a night and it's driving me insane!!

Really excited to hear about everyone's 20week scans, I have mine on Thursday and I'm both excited and nervous...hoping everything is OK with our little pickle :-)

Pisghetti · 27/10/2014 13:37

Glad you're starting to feel better Durham hope it lasts! I'm normally a deep sleeper. I can't say I've experienced insomnia but I've definitely started sleeping more lightly. I'm waking up before my alarm most days and often find myself wide awake for an hour or so in the middle of the night. I'm going to bed a lot earlier though as I am wiped out in the evenings which might explain it.

Olive, we have a quinny moodd which is a big car, outdoorsy pram. Stokke prams are very high but their suspension is rubbish for offroading

Durham I am so glad you're finally feeling better!

I'm sleeping ok but my anxiety medication knocks me out so that's why.

Having a fairly rough few days here with anxiety/depression. I have my scan a week today and it can't come quick enough. Going away for a few days on Thursday so hopefully that will make the time go quicker.

Jannywannywoohoo · 27/10/2014 15:28

Yes to a heavy bump! Glad you've mentioned it as I was a bit worried. Been feeling like that today.

M27J5M · 27/10/2014 18:54

Well I've had a roller coaster of a day today :/ had to find out how to apply for mat allowance as I don't qualify for SMP through my employer to find out I would get a lot less than expected, came to terms with that and now childcare is an issue and I think I'm gonna have to ask my boss to pay me off!! I'm not even caring now, had a whole day of stressing and now I'm in a "I just don't care mood@ it'll all work out in the end!

m33r · 27/10/2014 19:10

durham great to have you back and feeling vaguely human!

I just posted on the main pregnancy forum looking for opinions on hypnobirthing: anyone have any experience or views on this? I'm seriously considering it but DH needs to hear from more people who've experienced it... Thanks!!

junkfoodaddict · 27/10/2014 20:35

durham insomnia sucks. I think it was the crunch that made me go sick - 3 hours a night here too, 7am leaving for work, 6:30pm getting home with 2-year-old, an hour with him (whilst marking) then down to the planning and final bits of marking til bedtime took it's toll. I wasn't coping with the pressures of teaching and home life but didn't realise at the time what may have been at the root of it all.
I am 19 + 2 now and finally having some quality sleep of 6-7 hours. Apart from last night when I woke after 2 nightmares.
oliveobsessed I can recommend the Mothercare urban Detour (not sure if it is called that now). It is a 3-wheeler, off roader, lies completely flat, though not parent facing, quite a high handle, easy to manouvre and simple to collapse and, though not needed with big boots, the back wheels are easily removed. I bought my second hand from ebay for 30. Loved it but am going for something smaller and parent facing this time (bought graco evo).
I have had LOADS of pains low down in bump today. They're like a sudden punching/squeezing pain that tails off. It has been quite worrying as at times it was uncomfortable and painful but not constant. I could be pained for about 2 hours, then nothing for the next two hours. Sure it is just ligaments and stretching but it does nothing for your anxiety. 'Bean' (or wriggle-bum as I now called 'it') is moving a lot still.

m33r · 27/10/2014 21:59

Nightmares here too junk

Don't know how you military wives do it. My dh occasionally works away which usually suits me fine but now the thought of him going sends me to despair - wonder if it's some kind of evolutionary or hormonal thing...

lotsoftoast · 28/10/2014 05:32

m33r - I hypnobirthed. It doesn't guarantee a perfect birth, and I still mooed like a cow during my labour. But it definitely helped me cope, especially when things were going off course and I put the fact I managed to get a persistently op baby turned and avoided section down to hypnobirthing. Plus ds was a super chilled baby when he arrived - the mw said you could tell he was a 'hypno babe'.

surfs we went with black! DH not keen in the other colours! The bassinett looked really narrow so for now we are not getting one. The shop hires out snap and go for a capsule for 100$ for 6 months so we are going to do that too.

Exciting to finally have it ordered!

Have done some updates for those that asked on the spreadsheet, any others just let me know

SurfsUp1 · 28/10/2014 06:46

Olive for similar reasons to yours I went with the Baby Jogger Mini City GT. It has foam filled tyres which don't get punctures like the pneumatic tyres, which I found to be an absolute pain in the punani.

SurfsUp1 · 28/10/2014 06:49

Rainbow I ended up going with the "sand" colour just because I was worried about the darker colours in the Sydney sun.

SO exciting to have the order in - there's a parcel waiting for me at the post office - I have to keep reminding myself that it couldn't be the pram!

lotsoftoast · 28/10/2014 07:07

Can someone post the spreadsheet link here please again, just away to start a new thread

Thanks for the new thread toast.

DS is teething again and I have been up for most of the night Sad Luckily it's my day off so can have a lazy day.

Any scans today? I know there are several of us tomorrow. I expect I will have another sleepless night tonight worrying about it. I remember crying the night before DS's 20 week scan because I was terrified they would find something wrong. Hopefully everything is as it should be and I can get on with shopping Grin Poor baby's wardrobe consists of four or five vests and three hats so far.

nothinglikeithought · 28/10/2014 08:03

lotsoftoast did you do an actual course for hypnobirthing? I am really interested in it but have already paid up to do a NCT antenatal course so don't think I can fork out for a hypno course too. Can you teach yourself sufficiently with the books/CDs you can get?

persepolis123 · 28/10/2014 09:04

nothing I did a hypnobirthing course with DS which was really good. I ended up with an epidural but that was a result of a very long 55 hour labour with DS back to back which meant my contractions weren't actually doing anything. I made it over 40 hours without anything though so if it weren't for DS being an awkward little thing the circumstances I think I would have managed just fine without any drugs.

lotsoftoast · 28/10/2014 09:27

I did the course but you should be ok with the book and cd if you are prepared to put the practice in
