Hi Blueberry!
Welcome to the gang!
Have you had your 20 week scan yet? Do you know what you're having?
How's your pregnancy been so far?

BlueberryWafer · 23/10/2014 09:09

Hi Smile my 20 week scan is next Friday (Halloween!) not finding out the gender. My pregnancy has been pretty rough so far, got the dreaded hyperemesis, been hospitalised 4 times so far. Fingers crossed I am more queasy than sick now at 19 weeks, hoping it stays that way! My sickness came back at about 30 weeks in my last pregnancy Confused

junkfoodaddict · 23/10/2014 09:44

Welcome blueberrywafer I bought a Graco Evo from mother are about three weeks ago as they had a deal on. Carrycot, buggy and car seat for £379. Mother are do the isofix base for £100 but you can buy from ebay for £80 brand new. We are getting two bases for each car as it makes it easier transferring the car seat between vehicles.
I have been off work just over two weeks. Staff are away on a course tomorrow (teacher training day) so I am popping in to see the office staff, more a test to see how I cope as my return will be 3rd November. SPA team were supposed to ring me but do far, have not. Not sure if I need them now. My life at work will change do much and feel quite sad. Still no confidence and I know my relationship with the HT is probably beyond repair. She is ruthless and dogmatic and incapable of any TLC towards her staff. My plan is to go to work and leave asap at the end of each day. Keep my head down and have as little to do with people as much as possible.

Hi ladies, I'm due 1/03/15 with a little boy!
Any tips for push chairs. I'm getting one second hand (partially b/c we're feeling poor, mostly b/c I'm convinced it's like buying a new car!).
Was thinking of an xplory or one with a high position.

Any advice of that pushchair or other suggestions? X

SurfsUp1 · 23/10/2014 09:56

Welcome Primary!
What are your criteria for your pushchair? How will you use it? Urban/country? Jogging? Will it need to go in a car? Forward/back facing?

There's a lot of research that been done between all of us now!

pinkandstripey · 23/10/2014 10:05

Welcome blueberry and primary :)

Rainbow555 · 23/10/2014 10:10

lotsoftoast · 23/10/2014 10:24

Hey all, I'm still here but mostly just reading!

Pram wise we'd already decided on the uppababy vista but are going to a baby show tomorrow to look at the new model and decide which to order!

I'm 20+6 and finally started feeling proper movements last night, DH could feel them too (anterior placenta) so that was lovely. Scan is wed next week as we're away at the moment, so I'll join the Wednesday crew :)

MGFM · 23/10/2014 11:14

Zyla - we are also interested in uppababy vista! You must post lots of feedback when you see the new model!!! I am torn between buying old model and new model.

Lifeisabeach · 23/10/2014 11:59

Welcome to blueberrywafer and primaryteach!

Hope going into work isn't too stressful, junkfood

Yay for movement, Zyla

Just been out to meet my friend for a coffee. She’s pregnant too, due at the beginning of December, so we had a lovely time chatting about baby stuff etc. Made me feel excited about everything again. The majority of my friends are done with babies now so it was great to be able to talk non-stop without worrying about boring her!

pinkandstripey · 23/10/2014 12:49

I'll end very jealous if the new vista is awesome and you all have the new one /sulk

Slight derail, but if you are going for the vista, can I prod you all to looking at the besafe car seat rather than the maxi cosi (performs better in safety test).

pinkandstripey · 23/10/2014 12:50

...be very jealous...

KeeperOfTheZoo · 23/10/2014 12:54

Welcome to the newbies! Hope everyone is having a good day.

I am beyond exhausted today. Partly because, apart from snoozing between 5 and 6am I've been up since 2.30 Sad. A car alarm started going off near us so we looked out of the window but couldn't see any indicators flashing so assumed it was a car we couldn't see. I went for my middle-of-the-night-wee but DH got curious and suspicious so went downstairs and realised it was actually our car. Would have been fine, except we couldn't turn the bloody thing off! Angry [embarrassed]. It would appear that for some reason the car battery had died (was fine when I used it yesterday) so that was causing it to go off, but because there was no power, the key fob would lock/unlock the doors but wouldn't turn the alarm off! Couldn't start the car either so had to get the jump leads out and use the other car to jump start it, then at 3am poor DH went out for a half hour drive to try to get enough juice into it to stop it happening again. Of course we then lay in bed for the next couple of hours worrying it would start again. Thankfully it didn't and the battery has now been replaced so hopefully that will solve it.

We also have no lift at work at the moment as ours has died. On days when I'm working upstairs (top floor of a 5-floor, 342,000 sq ft ex-cotton mill) that means climbing 100 stairs to get to my office! That is just about killing me with carrying this extra person with me and having horrible anaemia so being breathless sitting down at the best of times!

Enough of my moaning...

Miffy79 · 23/10/2014 13:59

Aw keeper, that sounds horrendous!

I had my 20 week scan yesterday, glad to say all is well, and its definitely a boy Smile.. still waiting to feel any movement though (anterior placenta)..hopefully soon.. the bump has certainly popped out recently!

Ellizardo · 23/10/2014 16:52

Hello! I just pushed a button and my long rambling post disappeared..great! Anyways was just saying how much I like the uppababy vista as it's a good height for tall people (am 5'11") and with my back making me wince like a granny everytime I move, think it's a good option. Bugaboo bee also recommended by friends as it's nice and lightweight.

Frankly overwhelmed by choice even though my mother and I had one those nursery dept tours of John Lewis with a member of staff which was really useful. Id recommend it. And you get free cake and coffee!

No movement yet though it's rather nice drifting off to sleep with hands on your belly, trying to feel something!

keeper hope you get some rest tonight and the lift is fixed tmw. On the plus side, that could be your daily exercise done right there in one go?!

M27J5M · 23/10/2014 17:16

Oh it took me a while to catch upon here Smile been kept busy and not had a chance to get in much! Hope you're all doing well and welcome to the newbies! If you'd want added to the private fab group just pm myself or lotsoftoast with your email and we'll get you added

All this pram talk is exciting Smile think we're still sticking with the V.I.B. But could be swayed

m33r · 23/10/2014 17:49

Nightmare keeper

Cingrats 'miffy any ohotos?

Having resisted extra scans DH and I decided to have a 4d one at Christmas - 28weeks - but a colleague at his work today told him that it might be too late to get a good pic by then. This vaguely rings a bell. Anyone know when the best time for that extra scan is?

lotsoftoast · 23/10/2014 17:58

Best time to go is 28-30 weeks - they have a wee bit of chub so don't look skinny but aren't so big they are squashed up. We got fab pics of our ds at 29 weeks and are planning our 4d scan for around the same time

OP posts:
pinkandstripey · 23/10/2014 18:36

agree with toast, we went for 4d scan at about 29.5 weeks last time, think its 28-32 weeks, or a bit earlier with multiples.

fishfingerSarnies · 23/10/2014 19:07

4d scans freak me out.

BlueberryWafer · 23/10/2014 19:10

I never had a 4d scan with ds and won't be having one this time either. I need extra scans at 32 and 36 weeks though so I will see the baby then Smile

Rainbow555 · 23/10/2014 19:26

Ignore my preggo brain maths..clearly we don't need a new thread just yet! I'd dear!

keeper that's sounds like nightmare but the worst sounds like the stairs! I have a large set to do to get to the car park at work just about kills me everyday!!

Anyone actually managing any exercise at the moment? I still, do Pilates and go for walks but nothing aerobic...

fish I think they freak me out too! Not sure if I am decided on 4d scans!
