Wotsits smell ok but they taste like fish for some reason. Still eat them though...Blush

mswibble · 05/09/2014 13:23

Thanks AnnaFaustia and cinnamon.
Ive had another 'moment' today and decided ive had enough. Will self cert Mon and Tues next week, managed to get a drs appt on Weds. Beyond caring now.

Ive gone right off coffee and tea, water is drinkable but finding I want fizzy stuff all the time. My tongue constantly feels all fuzzy and grim, like when you have a mahoosive hangover! Horrible taste too.

BananaToast · 05/09/2014 13:34

mswibble hope you get signed off and can have a break away from work, it sounds like a nightmare.

mswibble · 05/09/2014 14:08

Fab news about the scan Lauren! How exciting!

Im 7 weeks today Smile
Early scan next Saturday, just got to stay sane before then!

Stuntman · 05/09/2014 14:37

Chicken I started magnesium supplements before I got pregnant because I was very low carb (

Lindalove · 05/09/2014 15:22

Just had lovely midwife when booking in today at UCLH. I've got referred to a pre- term clinic because of an HPV biopsy I had years ago on my cervix, but as long as my cervix looks okay I'll be low risk apparently. Surprised, but they weren't at all fussed about my age (38) or that I'm on anti depressants for agarophobia/anxiety.

Yes I am Misty - I've been spotting since last Wednesday and really can't wait until next week to check if everything's ok so going to the walk in EPU clinic in the morning. I've been a bit less worried the last few days since I started feint sick and the spotting almost disappeared, but still v nervous.

You must be able to have a scan or you won't have nuchal testing will you?

minipie · 05/09/2014 18:55

Found you all!

mswibble sorry things are so stressful, hope the GP is helpful.

I am really not looking forward to the next month at work - huge deadlines, annoying boss, and I can't get much done as feel nauseous in the mornings and incredibly sleepy in the afternoons... Oh and DD is teething so not much sleep at night either ARGH.

banana good luck tomorrow, hope all is on track.

misty maybe they mean you will get a nuchal scan, but not an 'early' scan ie a viability scan at booking in, if you've already had one? Although my hospital doesn't usually offer viability scans at booking in... but maybe yours usually does. anyway agree you must have the nuchal scan but can't believe they wouldn't have thought of that!

Lindalove is that the pre term surveillance clinic at St Thomas's? I'm hoping to be referred to that clinic because DD was pre term (34 weeks) - although not due to cervical issues. Do you know what tests the clinic do and how often you have to go?

Yes I agree surely they would leave you till your anomaly scan before they check you again. That's a hell of a long time without making sure bean is still happy in there. God forbid if you had a mmc that would be horrendous and would open them up to being sued.

HippoPottyMouth · 05/09/2014 20:59

Everything crossed for your scan, BananaToast!

Mrswibble, really sorry you are having such a shitty time at work. You are very right to take yourself out of it, hope you can relax knowing that you are not back in Monday.

Rhiannon85 · 05/09/2014 21:00

Hey cinnamongreyhound, yeah she knows we're trying. We've just told the MIL, I've had the "when I was pregnant...." Speeches, mostly how you couldn't find out until you were three months and about how smoked and drank alcohol for first trimester!

How things have changed!!

Would anyone be up for starting a facebook group?? We could set on private so no one could see what we were posting or that we were members?

My friend did it and said it was a bit better than using mn....

I wouldn't mind doing it then adding you all to the private group! Let me know x

LadyNovember · 05/09/2014 21:13

Is anyone else feeling huge?! I'm sitting here at work with my trousers open and my too-tight tunic. I swear I look about 5 months..pretty sure people will start noticing soon! Obv it's not baby yet, must be bloating..I'm only 9+3 (or 8+1Blush) but jeeeeezo Hmm

mswibble · 05/09/2014 22:24

Thank you everyone for the kind thoughts Smile much appreciated!

Good luck for tomorrow banana!

Im feeling positively ginormous ladynovember. Everynight I get home and change into my jammies immediately, the relief of an elasticated waistband and baggy jersey after being squished into skinny jeans ... ooh its heaven!

We're at a wedding tomorrow, think we're going with antibiotics as the reason im not drinking. I hope people dont pry and just leave it at that as im dying to tell people IRL but OH hasnt told his mum yet so it seems unfair to be blabbing!

motherto4 · 05/09/2014 23:45

Hi everyone,
It's been a long while since I last posted. Hope all goes well for those awaiting scans.
So I had a consultation but decided not to go ahead with T. So definitely on the bus.
I'm going to have to find some uber strength within me to help me cope. I've psyched myself up and decided to stay positive about everything. Not easy with 4 young DCs but owe it to them and to myself.

dancestomyowntune · 06/09/2014 07:05

motherof4 you will find the strength. I know how hard this decision was for you and I have been thinking of you a lot. I am struggling with this pregnancy already and I wanted another baby, but like you said, with four children already symptoms seem magnified and I have already had a few scares and problems. Midwife told me on Thursday that my blood pressure issues mean baby being full term is unlikely. And I went to the gp before ttc, asked for the risks, and was told they were minimal! It's definitely the last baby for us. I am going to look at sterilisation after the birth because I cannot put myself, my partner or our children through all of this again. And yet I am excited about the baby.

If you need to talk I'm here, and I am also on baby #5.

minipie I think UCLH has their own pre- term clinic so I'll be going there . If you've had a preterm baby before I imagine you'd be referred to yours automatically?
I think they just scan your cervix to specifically look for problems and if there's any doubt put a stitch in to keep your cervix shut (er .. Owch!). I'm hoping I won't need that as seriously had a tiny biopsy taken years ago so am hoping cervix is tougher than that! I'm waiting to hear details though so when I know more will let you know.

Had my scan this morning and saw a heartbeat Grin

Feeling very relieved and like I can finally relax a bit now. Midwife said I'm around 6 and a half weeks, and don't need to be seen again until my 12 week scan.

Fingers crossed for you today misty.

mswibble · 06/09/2014 10:45

Congratulations banana! I bet its such a relief to know everything is going well.

Good luck misty
