Lady heartburn is evil. Mines more acid reflux where stuff actually comes up into your mouth. Vile. Normally I control it by eating as close to Paleo as I can. But right now I can only stomach white carbs. So everything is coming up. Peppermint tea is providing a little bit of relief at work.
Cisforcat I was eating refreshers for the acid. I still burped but at least it tasted of sweets rather than sick (TMI)

LadyNovember · 04/09/2014 22:42

Yeah mine only comes up when I lay down chicken. It's not really in my chest though, it's always very high, in my throat. Can't wait to see how lovely it feels when there's a 6lb baby squishing it all upwards haha Hmm

catsofa · 04/09/2014 23:20

Ah new thread, marking place before it gets filled.

Honestly I do not get this whole system of the threads filling up and everyone having to bail to another one with no redirection, it's nuts! I don't know any other forums with this sort of system - anyone know why we have it on MN?

At least I have just worked out that you can go to the Ante-natal clubs topic and track new ones down in there.

Rustyzilla · 04/09/2014 23:54

LadyNovember am the same in that I was on lansaprasole for suspected hiatus hernia and reflux bit taken off when TTC. GP offered me nothing but Gaviscon which I detest. I'm managing with it though, although some days are worse than others. Personally I didn't find that love hearts helped but peppermint tea does. God knows how bad the heartburn will be in late pregnancy!

dancestomyowntune · 05/09/2014 06:25

I am munching the love hearts and they do seem to work. They are a staple part of my diet right now!

Pretty sure I have lost a few pound since getting pregnant. I've never been obsessive over weighing myself but I was pleasantly surprised when the midwife weighed me. Which doesn't really fit in with the fact I look quite pregnant already. Weird!

Stuntman · 05/09/2014 06:46

Chicken are you going back to paleo while you're pregnant? I usually eat primal but I seem to need more carbs at the moment. Unfortunately I start with good carbs like apples and carrots but then fall off the wagon into chocolate and chips! Blush I want to keep eating healthily because I get IBS and other problems when I eat too many carbs but then I have people telling me you have to eat carbs when you're pregnant. My dietitian told me to drink lots of milk while I was pregnant and I didn't know how to tell her I don't drink milk apart from in tea.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/09/2014 07:07

My dh said the same catsofa he's on a navy forum and said done of the threads have been running since 2008 and have 25,000 posts no problem!

I suffered badly with heartburn later in pregnancy before plus my two never dropped so I had it right to the end but didn't have a baby sitting on my bladder so swings and roundabouts I guess.

Feeling better so far today than yesterday, let's hope it continues!!

Oh, mswibble, how horrid! Hope the doctor gives you some respite.

Stuntman, I had the same problem with milk and not drinking it except in tea - now I'm having a yoghurt each morning to make sure that I'm getting the calcium I should. Seems to start me off alright for the day in terms of nausea too - if I don't have it, I really notice the difference (and not in a good way).

Stuntman · 05/09/2014 07:30

Thanks Annia, I actually make my own yoghurt for DH's breakfast so I could start having some of that. The probiotics in live yoghurt might be helpful too although I'm going to start taking probiotic tablets at 12 weeks since this baby will be delivered by ELCS.

Lauren82000 · 05/09/2014 08:05

Ugh feeling a bit headachy today. At least I have my scan this morning. Looking forward to that even if I do end up having an internal Confused hopefully everything is where it should be.

JaneyTea · 05/09/2014 08:09

Hope the scan goes well Lauren

Grumpy here this morning. Last night was DP's first night off for a week....and I was in bed by 7.30 Blush I wouldn't mind, but I don't feel any better for it today. Tired, weepy, nauseous.... I'm a delightful person to be around today!

AuntieVenom · 05/09/2014 08:09

I'm also an "older" first timer at 40 and will be 8 weeks tomorrow.
Had my 1st scan on Monday and got to see the heartbeat Smile

Lindalove · 05/09/2014 08:14

Welcome auntievenom!

AuntieVenom · 05/09/2014 08:16

Thanks Lindalove

kismac · 05/09/2014 08:54

I feel a lot more able to cope now after my visit to the GP. Took 3 days for the drugs to work but now I just feel rubbish rather than wanting to die. Managed to leave the house yesterday for the first time since Saturday, so hopefully should be back to work on Monday. I'd strongly urge anyone who is struggling to visit their GP. Morning sickness is meant to be unpleasent but you should still be able to function too. Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend.

AnniaFausta · 05/09/2014 09:05

Fantastic news, kismac - glad you're feeling better, and I hope you can soon upgrade to mildly grotty from rubbish! Have a lovely weekend.

Lauren82000 · 05/09/2014 10:45

Had my scan, blob is where it's supposed to be, saw the heartbeat and I'm measuring 6+3 so they think that's right. Only 4 days out from first day of last period. Which I can't understand if I have a period that's 7 days long how can i have conceived whilst on af and not dtd. Or am I being an idiot I don't really get it. Blush

BananaToast · 05/09/2014 10:48

Great news Lauren - I'm not sure how the dates work either but I guess all that matters is that you have a healthy little bean in there!

catsofa · 05/09/2014 10:51

I read on another thread that the dates are entirely to do with how developed the baby is, it's more like X days til ready for birth than x days since conceived, IYSWIM. So they're not really saying you conceived while on AF and not having sex, they're saying that baby looks as developed as and "average" 6 + 3 baby so if you count from there you'll get a more accurate due date. Does that make sense?

cinnamongreyhound · 05/09/2014 10:58

6+3 is counted from when your period started, they always add those two weeks on between conception and cd1. If it's 4 days later than you expected it probably means you ovulated slightly later in your cycle than the average 14days lauren8200, glad all is looking good though :)

Lauren82000 · 05/09/2014 11:00

Yes that makes more sense.Smile But it's pushing me towards a May baby Hmm because May isn't busy enough for birthdays we need another one. There is like a birthday every other day if you include friends n family. Not that I'm ungrateful I'm thrilled this little one is doing ok. Just May is more busy than Christmas.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/09/2014 12:51

Have discovered mugshots are quite palatable and will make a nice change from bread!

Hi Stuntman I was into Primal (just tended to call it Paleo as more people have heard of it) until about two or three weeks ago when the dreadful nausea and food aversions started. I hope to go back to it if I ever become normal again lol. But accepting that potatoes, rice, gluten free grains, are allowed more than normal. I think it's fine to have more carbs - I'm trying to think "whole foods not junk!!" But it's been very hard. I've actually had enough of junk food today! It was making my reflux worse! What are you craving? Do you feel a bit guilty? I do-I was sooo disciplined before!
I can barely stomach meat at all atm though! How weird!
Milk seems a bit sicky to me but ice cream, good quality full fat stuff is probably really good for you. Unfortunately I'd rather eat an artic roll at the moment lol
I'm obsessed with food I think

mswibble · 05/09/2014 12:56

chicken I had a bowl of cereal yesterday and the smell of the milk was overpowering. Even though it was fresh it really stank! Never had that before.

LadyNovember · 05/09/2014 13:01

I'm struggling with milk too! Also I could've sworn my toast smelt like cleaning fluids this morning. Tasted alright though lol
