Good luck to LadyNovember today and anyone else getting their scan. Keep us updated!

I told DH that I definitely want a girl, whether it's this one or the 10th one down the line...so he's desperate that this one is a girl so we don't end up with a massive family!

Siarie · 23/09/2014 10:40

Urgh just threw up my breakfast. Really starting to get me down, my house is getting behind with cleaning and ironing because I'm spending my life on the sofa. It's getting better but I just want to feel like my old self? You know?

peppercorn28 · 23/09/2014 11:25

hi all.. feeling miserable today, got a cold / cough / sore throat and on top of the odd waves of nausea i'm feeling crap! have booking appt tomorrow so whatever happens must feel better for that.. do they check for heartbeat? desperate for some kind of reassurance, especially as a few days ago I got super hot in bed and sweaty and didn't realise until a later, worrying Google that overheating can be so bad .. :(

JaneyTea · 23/09/2014 11:34

Brew for siare and peppercorn - sorry to hear you're both feeling miserable. They didn't check for a heartbeat at my booking in appointment, but I imagine it would have been too early, as I was only just eight weeks.

I have to admit, I'm feeling really miserable too. And worried about how miserable I'm feeling. I am so tired and bleurugh and I'm struggling to feel like this pregnancy is "real". I can't stop worrying about the possibility of a mmc and I'm getting really fed up with telling little lies to excuse myself from unsuitable social events. Work is really stressful at the moment and I'm having panic attacks, so all in all, feeling truly joyful. The Women's Hospital offers reassurance scans for £45 and I'm debating getting one in the hope that it might quiet some of the worry in my mind, (it's four weeks until my actual scan). But am I just being ridiculous?

BananaToast · 23/09/2014 12:02

peppercorn I don't think midwives listen for a heartbeat before 16 weeks, but don't quote me on that. I'm sure overheating won't have done baby any damage though, they're pretty well protected in there.

Got my booking appointment on Friday (finally!) - looking forward to having something baby-related to keep me going until my scan, which isn't for another couple of weeks.

9+2

BananaToast · 23/09/2014 12:03

Janey I don't think you're being ridiculous - I would definitely book in a private scan if you can afford it, it makes it all feel so much more real and is wonderful to see the heart beating away.

Minstrelle · 23/09/2014 12:18

Argh, still no scan date. 10weeks today. Can I ring my hospital to see if they've booked anything - or even had my notes sent to them? Or is that a big no-no? Am trying to book a last minute holiday and would really like the scan before I go...when I get back I'll be 13+4. Grrr, so fed up of waiting for post!!

minstrelle I guess it depends where you are but my local hospital wouldn't allow me to have my scan earlier than 12 weeks, although I had the date from around the 6 week mark. However, I would still call as it turned out at my booking in appointment at 11+3 that my referral from the GP had been lying around somewhere without being actioned for weeks!

BrixtonBunny · 23/09/2014 13:11

Hey ladies, sorry people are feeling worried and crappy.

I'm also feeling very under the weather - headache, throat killing me, shattered, nauseous. Had to take yesterday and today off work as I'm just too poorly to go in, though that's now very stressful as work is so busy!

I'm also going to join you the worry sofa - our scan is next Monday morning. Eeek. It seems from looking online that mmc stats are quite low - 1 or 2 per cent - so I'm taking comfort in that, and the fact that I still feel so rough!

So nice to hear of positive scans though, it's making me excited for next week. So hope we get to see a healthy, wriggling little bloblet.

Will read back now properly.

11 + 4 xx

AnniaFausta · 23/09/2014 13:19

Just on my way into work after scan this morning. There's someone in there! In the right place! The sonographer pointed out the heartbeat, the arms and legs, and had a check of my pelvis for anything else untoward. Everything looks absolutely fine, but as I suspected, it's too early - I say I'm 10+3, he measured 10+6. So I'm booked in again for Wednesday fortnight. It'll mean fudging a work event I've organised, but the scan's more important. And now I know that there's nothing obvious to worry about at the moment - plenty of wriggling underway! Phew!

JaneyTea · 23/09/2014 13:25

brixton "bloblet" is such a good word Grin

Glad to hear that your scan went well annia

I've booked a reassurance scan for Monday (will be 9+6) - they had an available appointment for Thursday but can't get out of work then. Feel better for just booking it. Poor bloblet with this neurotic mother! Hmm

cinnamongreyhound · 23/09/2014 14:05

Argh lost a huge post!!

Definitely have the scan if you can afford it JaneyTea.

Sorry you're feeling rough Sairie but it will get better, trust me I was soooo poorly with Ds1!

Yay for your scan AnniaFausta!

I'm in a horribly grumpy mood which is ruining my day so far :(

Great to hear your positive scan results Annia! Thanks

I had mine this morning..it was AMAZING. The little bean was jumping around waving it's little arms..heart was beating away..feel SO relieved! I was right with my dates after all, I am not 12 weeks, but 10+2, so I have to go back in just short of 3 weeks for NT.

I feel confident to start telling people now though, as I read the stats for a hb at 10 weeks = 99.4% of things being ok. Yay!

Sending hugs to those feeling rough xxxx

LadyNovember · 23/09/2014 14:37

Also I have a tilted womb, so had to have the probe..yay for that haha Blush

roastpots · 23/09/2014 14:49

Yay! Fantastic to hear about all of the positive scans everyone!!

rusty - about results from the nuchal. They said they would call within 5 working days if they were worried about anything and that I would receive a letter with the combined risk based on nuchal measurement, blood test and age within 10 days. My DH did ask the sonographer as she was measuring it if it looked OK and she said it was within the normal range - but I'm not sure if she was supposed to!

squatting that's funny about bolognese - that was definitely something I couldn't bear the sighbt/smell/taste of in my last pregnancy! My DH may a huge pan of it thinking he was being helpful and then I made him sit in the kitchen to eat it for nights on end because I couldn't stand to even be in the same room as it!

siarie - I'm sorry you're feeling so rough. If it's any comfort that sounds exactly like I felt last week - just at the end of my tether with the vomit, nausea, messy house etc. But this week is so different - I feel (almost) energetic! So I really hope you are nearing the end of the tough bit x

JeewizzJen · 23/09/2014 14:49

Ahhh glad all the scans have gone well today! Mine too, and as I expected my dates were also moved earlier from 11+6 to 11+0 and I also need to go back for the screening tests in a week or so.

Such a relief though, so very awesome to see that lovely heart beating strongly and limbs waving around.

OVER HERE!!! Due April 2015

Minstrelle · 23/09/2014 15:44

Lots of lovely scans!!

So I rung the hospital squatting.... and they don't even have my notes yet. GRRRR!! Apparently, its because I've not had my 10+1 blood test, so the ultrasound dept thinks the midwife will send it all in together. Except that my midwife appt isn't until 11+2...and 7 days before I go on holiday for 2 weeks. I'm dubious that they'll get the notes from the midwife, schedule me an appt, send me a letter and me go in for the scan, all within 7 days. Apparently, they "wont let anyone fall through the net", which wasn't overly reassuring. Will call midwife tomorrow to see if I can get an earlier appt or something. Typical!!

kittenmamma · 23/09/2014 16:12

Hey everyone, been keeping up despite not posting. Great to see all these scans, congrats everyone. To those not feeling great I hope you all feel better soon.
To update on myself, cyclizine anti-sickness stopped working so went back to docs and was given something else, and signed off work. Still seem to be vomiting every day and feeling especially scrappy today so I have basically slept all night, morning and afternoon.
So I understand how you're all feeling with the sickness etc all getting on top of you, I've been pretty down too!

kittenmamma · 23/09/2014 16:13

Crappy* not scrappy haha

Loving everyone's scan pics! Cannot wait for mine.....time is dragging!! I see some people's sickness is getting better, I have gone full circle and all my symptoms have disappeared! I feel like I did before pregnant. And whilst happy to be feeling human again it's put me on the sofa of worry!! Wah! !
