Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

MIAM - so sorry to hear you've been feeling like that, poor you. I'm sure I remember reading someone describing this stage as "progesterone poisoning" as hormone levels are sky high. I was utterly vile to DH yesterday and the tiredness is crippling, isn't it? Please feel free to rant/offload here if you need to.

We haven't heard from Bucky in ages, so am thinking that things didn't turn out well .

Well, it is tipping rain here so an indoor day today. DH got up with dd (any tips on how to stop an 18 month old getting up at the crack of dawn gratefully received) so I had a lie in for once. Plan for today - roast chicken. Yum!

WestCountryLass · 24/09/2006 09:36

I ate like a horse (pig) yesterday

Breakfast, biscuits and cheese scones before 10am, sandwiches and fruit for lunch (not so bad), then a massive chicken dhansak, pilau rice and poppadoms followed by a bag of chocolate peanuts BUT I am not feeling sick thsi morning!!!!

Names, names, oh don't talk to me about names, we have a dilemma as we all have the same initials (DH, me, DS and DD) and do we have a full set and give DB a name with the same initial? Difficult for us as I can't think of a single name with said initial that I like!

Bugmum · 24/09/2006 09:53

Westcountrylass - I think you are going to have to come up with the same initial, otherwise DB when a DTeen will have the ammo to say he/she has always felt different, never part of the family etc etc. Mind you, I do think the Duggers take it too far: 15 or 16 kids all beginning with J, which means one poor child is called Jinger...

doobydoo · 24/09/2006 10:36

Hi all. Thanks for advice..will ring hospital tomorrow.Glad your scan went well Twinkle.Sorry you feel riugh MIAM.I thought i was doing well but evenings are tricky was v.sick on friday..yuck.
Love hearing all the ideas for names.dp and i can't agree which is why i want to find out the sex of bean as we only have to agonise over one set of names.
Probably going to the beach later to clear the cobwebs away.
Hope we all have a good day.

weeonion · 24/09/2006 10:52

good morning folks and hoep we are all well. it is pouring it down outside - no trips to the beach in scotland!!

i had a nightmare time last night. MIAMin - i hope i undertand how you feel. i felt so tired, down, ugly clumsy and generally paranoid that i did not want to go to Dp's bro's 40th bash. i was in floods of tears and dp said that all i ever think about is myself at the mo. that made me worse. i did go, felt awful, a few people commented on how ill i looked and my weight gain (it is still a secret tho)
i came home at 12am only to be awoken by dp calling at 5am asking me to drive 20 mile to give them all a lift home. not impressed.
feel like cinderellera and ugly sis rolled into one.

when does the happy blooming start??
MIAMin - big hugs your way and i hope the happy mood stays for you.....

i hope the progesterone poisoning ends soon. (LOVE that term )

zazas · 24/09/2006 11:29

Hello all. Finally dragged myself to the computer and found the energy to read and post. Congratulations on the scans and new posters......

MIAM I know exactly how you feel. I have been so sick this time round (my third pregnancy) and definitely my last. Have thrown up so much recently that I have burst a blood vessel in my eye - looks very attractive! If I don't eat I feel sick if I do eat i am sick - can't win. Also highly emotional - DP being V patient.....

11w today so are hoping things are going to get better - can't really get worse!

Sexonlegs · 24/09/2006 11:34

Hiya ladies, sorry haven't posted for ages. Like most of you, I have been feeling awful too. Feel constantly sick - fortunately haven't been so far, so should be grateful. Also feel as if I have some kind of upper respiratory infection - tight chest, general feeling of being wiped out. Got GP's appointment on Tuesday, although I am sure they will just pack me off and say it is a virus. Hey ho.
Glad all the scans are going well - it makes it so real doesn't it.
I have a dating scan but not until 16th October - looking forward to it, but slightly anxious at the same time.
Also looking like a spotty teenager like some of you on there - not a pretty sight!
Sorry, this post has been one long moan. I will come back again when am more upbeat!
Hugs to all.

WestCountryLass · 24/09/2006 14:04

Bugmum, funny you should mention the initial J , now Jinger, there's a thought, I shall add it to my list......not!!!!!

CaptainDippy · 24/09/2006 14:24

LOL @ Jinger!!

So that so many of you are feeling so shit - hoping we all feel much much better very soon. xxxx

Well on top of all my MS, I now have some horrible bug Have "runny tummy" (TMI), feeling wiped out and sick sick sick. DH has the same is in bed atm as he was shivering and feeling faint, poor love. DD's asleep atm, dreading them getting up - so hard to cope with you are feeling like this. Crap. Just what I needed right now. Hoping this passes soon, is horrid!

Blimey - we are a right bunch, aren't we!!!?

bobblehead · 24/09/2006 17:19

I have all but given up posting, but it is really due to laziness now, rather than ms or tiredness. Think I've just got into the habit of not doing anything so now I feel a bit better I'm still doing nothing! Dd has had a cold this week and her sleeping has been worse than ever though so this week I do have a genuine excuse. She also managed to throw herself out of her cot the other night so doesn't look like I need to worry about it not being vacated in time for baby!
I'm now 12+4 and heard the heartbeat at the Drs last week
Scan not until Oct 30th though.

Hope everyone starts to feel better soon.

geordiemacminx · 25/09/2006 09:37

Morning ladies. Hope we all had a nice weekend. Weeonion - sorry saturday night turned out to be so cr@p... I know exactly how you must have felt!! Vio - how did your weekend go with your sister?

OP posts:
Greengirlforever · 25/09/2006 09:40

Good morning to all and a happy Monday ! I have had a lovely weekend away with DH, having farmed both DS's onto obliging (and very wonderful) friends. We ate non stop wonderful food all weekend (no ms!) but hopefully this was mitigated by a 10 mile hike across Dartmoor on Saturday - I literally could not put one foot in front of the other at the end of it!

This stage of pgcy is a bit like being a teenager again - the bad bit ! Spotty, moody and emotional - and I am all of those things. Hair short and not falling out but becoming completly unmanageable.

Emmy - get that op done! It will boost your mood and won't do any harm at all at this stage.

I am not choosing any names - very superstitious about this one because of my age and previous mc. Not going to even go there until all screening and diagnostics (if necessary) out of the way. That's just me though - I am loving some of the names on here and might steal some....

geordiemacminx · 25/09/2006 09:52

Lucky you GGF...everything I ate on sat came straight back up... ended up sitting in the garden with a carrier bag at one point cos I couldnt even make it upstairs!!!

Well done on you hike... I am having difficulty with the stairs at the moment!!!

Really cant believe its monday again. I have 0 enthusiasim for work today... I feel sick, I'm tired and I want to go home... so thats me spitting the dummy out big style!!!

Emmy, I'm sure that the doctor wouldnt recommend anything that would put you at risk - especially if it was classed as non urgent!

I'm not picking any names either...there are a few that I like but not gonna go through a name book for a good few months yet... even though I'm desperate!!!

OP posts:
Bugmum · 25/09/2006 09:55

Weeonion - well, you have very rude friends and relations, who would comment on weight gain unsolicited! And your other half needs to know that sickness, being exhausted, body shock, hormones raging, sudden weight gain, spots and so on are MASSIVE deals, as is carrying a baby I know that doesn't help, but I wanted to show solidarity

Smole · 25/09/2006 09:58

Had 2 weeks annual leave and there is loads to catch up on.

Meanwhile I'm 11+3 today and so fed up of feeling sick and having no energy.

Right off to catch up with whats been happening.

CornflakeKid · 25/09/2006 10:13

doghouse · 25/09/2006 10:56

Hi everyone. Haven't posted for a while but pleased to hear scans going well but that so many are still suffering with ms. I only ever felt sick so count myself lucky but was/am still a bit spotty and rather emotional. Had a bit of a go at DH yesterday as we have just moved to the area and so I know no-one, have no job - funnily enough no-one seems too keen to employ me (!) even on a temp. basis at the moment, meanwhile all this going on with my body / hormones and was not sure he quite understood. Well he does now! Feeling much better today and hope you all are too! My scan is next Monday and am supposed to be 14weeks then but we shall see if that is right!

CaptainDippy · 25/09/2006 14:05

Bug still lingering Glad you are feeling so good though Twinkle, though am a little - hoping I feel much better soon - just had soup and feel sick.

Poor you doghouse - it isn't easy moving to a new area, esp when you are PG. I moved from West Sussex to Wales when I was 4 months PG and it was really tough. I managed to get a job at a call centre, but it was hell - glad I am not there any more! Hoping you will find a job and some nice people to talk to soon! Have you thought about doing NCT antenatal classes if it is your 1st?? Or going to some local playgroups if it is not?? Get out there and meet some people, you will feel much better for it!!

Not much time to post much more, but [hugs to all fellow ms suffers and rounds of applause for all those who are through the oher side!!

CatpainDippy

9 weeks + 4 ... and counting ......

Smole · 25/09/2006 14:17

Juat booked my Nuchal scan for 5th October at 11.45am!

PeaJay · 25/09/2006 14:25

Hi everyone. Twinkle - glad your scan went well, and fingers crossed for everyone getting their scan this week.

We are not choosing names yet but have been having fun with names we wont be having! Our surname is Haydon, and its great seeing peoples reactions when we say we like Aiden for a boy . We did go on a website at the weekend and it suggested Frank (my bro's dog is called this) and Drusilla - LOL - sorry to anyone called this! Its going to be so difficult.

MS is back today. I thought Id got over it, may be soon. My hair is falling out too and the spots are painful!! I thought pregnancy was supposed to be enjoyable!

doghouse · 25/09/2006 14:54

thanks CD - yes, am booked for NCT antenatal classes but they are not til Feb! I think if I was further along it would be a bit easier ... but too early for aqua natal etc. etc.
I am trying to be positive, and am most of the time as have plenty of friends from Somerset who I keep in touch with .. it would just be nice to get to know someone locally. And am finding it really odd not working!

bubbaloo · 25/09/2006 15:34

Doghouse-Whereabouts are you?
Why don't you perhaps try posting on the "meet up" section.I've met a few people that way and another good site for meeting new people is Netmums,as it's done by area and I've again, met loads of mums through there.
I was like you when I was pg with DS last year and hardly knew anyone locally.I've now got to know a few people and funnily enough I'm really friendly with someone I met through Mumsnet and we go to a toddler group together every week.

Greengirlforever · 25/09/2006 15:40

PeaJay - lol at Aiden Haydon!!!

Also good advice to Doghouse from CD .

I think pgcy is definitely on the upswing for me today. No ms and a reasonable amount of energy. I'm checking out this Gentle Birth Method (I think there are a few threads on MN but useless at links). If my scan on Thurs goes ok - it is a 12week nuchal - I may treat myself to the book and a yoga dvd or something. Apparently very good for those worried about weight gain (which I definitely am!). You have to cherry pick stuff out of the book though, as were you to follow the whole program you would end up with no money to spend on your new baby....
