Hi everyone! I'm telling my boss today about the PG and I'm really nervous! I know it'll be fine, my company is generally good, but they so don't expect it. Moral support please!

I've decided to tell him now because he's on hols next week and I'm starting to show already (second pregnancy tend to show earlier than first, and I've been wearing very big clothes for the last couple of weeks).

Wish me luck!

geordiemacminx · 26/09/2006 13:32

Good luck BBP...I'M sure it will be fine... I told mine last week - he told me there was a bed in first aid downstairs if I ever wanted to have a lie down... not sure he meant all day mind you..

Bubblez

I have a 'shit shield' for my MIL - so when she makes crap comments or does things to wind me up the shit just bounces off! In fact I think every pg woman needs one to deflect unwanted/unsolicited comments about weight/size/ age/baby sex/your sex life/breastfeeding /bottlefeeding/crying/sleeping etc etc - you get the picture! People seem to think that because your pg it gives them the right to make personal comments which they would otherwise keep to themselves - it truly does amaze me - the shape of your bump makes me the maddest - ooh you're all out front - it must be a girl???eh?

Another mad rant from CFK!

Lol Bramshott re where the baby comes out - have told my boys baby will either come out of mummy's tummy or I'll poo it out!!!! They think that is hilarious - a friend is going to lend me a book which shows/explains how it works for little siblings.

CornflakeKid · 26/09/2006 13:43

Good luck BlueberryPancake! I'm dreading it too...

When you really start to show - some people wear those t-shirts that say things like 'I'm not fat, I'm pregnant' (not that I would) - I want one that says 'yes, we still have sex!'

Really have got my mad head on today!

emmymummy · 26/09/2006 15:46

CFK - the funniest book I have seen for little ones about where babies come from is Mummy Laid an Egg by Babette Cole. Has some hilarious drawings of mummies & daddies making babies (e.g. on a space hopper), and pictures of mummy getting fatter and fatter until the baby finally pops (with a pic of it half out saying 'hello mummy'). Sounds a bit surreal really, but it is fun.
Still waiting for a scan date - will be 10 weeks tomorrow and still haven't heard anything (should have one at 12 weeks). DH has helpfully put my midwife's notes away somewhere so I can't even find the mw phone no. to chase her for an update. I bet if I ask him where he put them he'll deny all knowledge and blame me (this is what usually happens).
DD is amusing me this afternoon pretending to be a cat. She is running around the garden in just her knickers and a cat mask and has just asked me to pour some milk into a bowl on the floor so she can lap it up. Hope social services aren't anywhere close this afternoon.

Bramshott · 26/09/2006 15:50

Oh God - have just spent 45 mins on phone to tax credits people in what I hoped would be a short call to tell them DH had a new job with pay rise, but turned into a lengthy "in 2002, you seem to have given us an incorrect employer reference number" epic!! Then went downstairs to make myself a bucket of tea to console myself, where promptly my pregnancy clumsiness made me smash my favourite mug (only really bucket-sized one!), and hormonal state made me burst into tears!! Anyone else incapable of picking anything up without dropping it twice, and coping with any minor setback without waterworks?!?

geordiemacminx · 26/09/2006 15:53

Poor you bramshott!!! Sending you big ((((hugs))))..

CornflakeKid · 26/09/2006 16:00

Bramshott - I have stopped watching the news altogether as I always end up in tears - dh comes home to me blubbing - the rotweiler story really uspet and dh gave me a big hug xxx

Have no idea what to feed the boys tonight - just waiting for bedtime....zzzzzzzzzzzzz

geordiemacminx · 26/09/2006 16:02

Bramshott · 26/09/2006 16:10

Ah - thanks ladies, I knew I'd get sympathy on here!! My DD has been eating pasta with pesto more than usual recently when I can't bear the thought of cooking anything 'proper'. Luckily she seems to love it, and hasn't got scurvy yet!

liath · 26/09/2006 16:11

I started crying reading nursery rhymes to dd today! I remember last time crying whenever I watched an athlete get a gold medal at the Olympics. Actually I think pregnancy then motherhood makes you horribly sensitive, I get really upset at news items too. I feel like a different person now in a lot of ways.

Fancy a burger now. Cravings are definitely catching !

geordiemacminx · 26/09/2006 16:15

I cried at Hollyoakes!!!!! Now thats just sad!!!

OP posts:
liath · 26/09/2006 16:19

Definitiely no excuses for that, Geordie !

geordiemacminx · 26/09/2006 16:23

No excuse for watching it never mind bubbling at it!!!!

CornflakeKid · 26/09/2006 16:55

I really fancy mexican food - a chimichanga or burrito would be so nice.

I like Holby City and that has me in tears loads! Must record it later - on way too late these days!!!

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2006 17:51

Bleurgh!!!!

Still poorly in DippyLand!

DD's have been in nursery all day, which has been a huge blessing - DH has been at home all day and we are just feeling crap. This bug we've got is soooo nasty. I thought we would have shaken it by now, but it doesn't seem to want to shift. Yuk Yuk Yuk .....

Anyway .....

BluePuffin - Welcome - you, Sexonlegs and I are all 9 weeks + 4 today!!!!!!!!!!! How funny!! 3rd Aug was it!!!!?

Bubblez - Grrrrrr to your BITCH MIL - Rah!! My actual mother is an absolute rip-roaring bitching PITA and my MIL is a lazy arse who couldn't give a crap about anyone else but herself (even if she does pretend otherwise!!!!) So every sympathy honey!!!

Gosh, I am soooo and hormonal today!

Rah!!

LOL @ your description of Mummy Laid an Egg, emmymummy - sooooo have to get myself a copy, it sounds halarious!! "Doing it" on a Space Hopper, now this I have to see!! LOL @ your DD being a cat too ..... she sounds like she would get on stormingly well with my nutty little DD1 - always a teeny bit worried about Social Services' spys catching us out during some of our "animal antics." Recently, she has mainly been a spider, wanting to pounce on little DD2 (fly) and wrap her up in her and web and suck her!!!!!!

How old is your little kitten??

Bramshott - arse arse arse to dropping your fave mug - I'd cry too (cried reading DD a bedtime story the other night) I'm a p/t potter if you are interested in acquiring another decent-sized "Bucket Mug"?? - email me: captain_dippy "at" yahoo "dot" co "dot" uk Wouldn't charge!! A gift from one hormonal mummy to another!!

Going to go and lie down in prep for DH coming home with DD's......

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2006 17:52

That was a long post!!!

CornflakeKid · 26/09/2006 17:55

Oh you poor thing CD - really hope you feel better soon x

emmymummy · 26/09/2006 18:20

Poor you CD - can't imagine having horrid bug on top of ms. Double blergh. Fingers crossed this yucky bit will all be over soon and we'll all start blooming. Did you have bad ms with your dds?

My dd is 4 bless her and is frequently either a cat, dog or baby lion. When she's a dog you get licked to death (nice) and when she's a baby lion I have to be mummy lion and we do a lot of snuggling up. Very very cute indeed. Don't think her teacher thought she was so cute today though - she's only been at school for a couple of weeks and had her first stand-off with her teacher today (and I thought to myself ha!, the first of many!).

Am currently eating puppadums with mango chutney and a glass of Lucozade. Winning combination!

CornflakeKid · 26/09/2006 18:33

ooh mango chutney and poppadoms - yummy - changed mind about the mexican - need poppadoms and dips, followed by chicken tikka masaala and naan bread! DH away - otherwise he'd be off to curry house!

emmymummy · 26/09/2006 18:37

mmmm peshwari naan. mmmmmm

weeonion · 26/09/2006 18:42
