Not that I profess to have a brain of any sorts but here is a new thread as requested!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mammyjo · 08/10/2006 09:29

Morning all!! Not a good night for me as ds was up a lot with a hacking cough - you know the sort, just wont stop no matter what. Ended up in our bed (which I hate as he takes up loads of room and kicks me in the back)!!

CD, am in the final module of my degree now. Am doing it through a uni which is affiliated with the hospital I work in. I work with children who have cancer and the degree is based on that - quite heavy going at times. Have to get my dissertation proposal in by this coming Friday and am not getting anywhere fast. Luckily I have some time in the day now as from this week ds is in school full time.

Wishing everyone a happy and hopefully relaxing (?) day!!

Just to echo what others have said, I have read some really nasty stuff on here at times but this thread is so lovely and if you are having a bad day you feel genuinely supported by your virtual friends. Ah, the soppiness of it all!!!!

CornflakeKid · 08/10/2006 09:40

I agree too - this is a lovely place and I'm really delighted to have 'found' such a nice bunch of people - really supportive and friendly - love to all xoxoxoxoxo

Have a christening at 1pm and feel the need to clean this morning - have done 3 loads of washing - and it's just started raining arrgggh!

bubbaOOOOOOO · 08/10/2006 10:20

Morning All,

CD-Hope you're feeling better now.at the time of your post!

Hi Isabella-Good to hear your ms is also getting better.

Mammyjo-Hope your ds is also feeling a bit better. My ds has exactly the same, which I'm sure is due to him sitting in a wet buggy on Friday. He has had a temperature on and off since yesterday and sounds like Darth Vader the whole time.Think I'll pop him along to the doc's tomorrow.

CFK-Enjoy the christening and lets hope the weather improves.Must admit it's rather nice here...at the mo.

SOL-How's you this morning?

I feeling fine today but have loads of housework to do,that I've ignored for the last couple of days.Think I might even leave it and let poor Dh give me a hand tomorrow...on his day off[cruel wife emoticon].

doghouse · 08/10/2006 10:36

Just wanted to have my two'penneth ... have (like WO) been reading some other threads on MN and have been quite shocked by some people's holier than thou attitude and downright disregard for other people's feelings. As you say, we are very lucky on here as everyone seems to be lovely and I really don't know what I would do without it now! As a first time mum to be, I have found the advice on here invaluable and am sure will continue to do so for many years to come.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. Like a few others on here, I suddenly felt an urge to 'clean' and 'tidy up' this morning ... must be my hormones, most unusual behaviour!

claricebean · 08/10/2006 10:42

Morning everyone,

Hope the weather's cheered up there Mammyjo. It is gorgeous here. Well done to you for managing your degree and what sounds like a very worthwhile and emotional job too. Hope DS's cough improves. Yes, I speak Spanish (not as well as DDs though, unfortunately). It's a lovely language.

Thanks for the encouraging words, CaptainDippy. Yes, I really can't wait for DH's return. I have a countdown on the fridge, nominally for DDs but really for me. It started at 50 days and now we're on 13 to go.

Glad to hear MS is going for most. Mine's pretty much gone too. And am getting a bit more energy back, thank goodness.

I agree about the tone of some other MN threads. It's really nice here though.

We are off to friends for lunch today - hurray, no cooking and ADULTS to talk to!!! Happy Sunday everyone.

weeonion · 08/10/2006 11:01

good morning folks!!
there must be a cleaning frenzy bug catching!! loads of washing in and out, floors done, dusting and now i have to tackle the piles of abandoned clothes that is the spare room.

xoxo

CornflakeKid · 08/10/2006 11:31

the sun has got his hat on - hip hip hip hooray! ...at last can get the washing out - maybe we have synchronised our nesting patterns!

Have just eaten 4 Mr Kiplings French Fancies - think pink is my favourite! Maybe it's a sign...

Sexonlegs · 08/10/2006 11:40

Morning all - sounds like everyone is v happy to day. I am fine thank you. Touch wood no more blood, although still get a gripy pain every now and then. I am still going to push to get the scan tho, just to see.
We only moved back in to our house last Sunday as we had some work done, and were away for 9 weeks! The place is coming together, but everything is so dirty and dusty. Trying to fight the urge not to clean everything in sight, as need to be a bit sensible!
Off to lunch at my parents shortly, so have a lovely day, and see you all later. xx

bubbaOOOOOOO · 08/10/2006 11:50

Veryof all these lovely lunches that everyone is going to be having.I'll probably be having cheese and crackers, but a nice shepherds pie later on tonight.

CaptainDippy · 08/10/2006 12:47

LOL @ your pink French Fancy CK!!!

Nice to "see" everyone sounding so happy on here this morning!! Not wanting to lower the tone, I'll just tell you that DH has taken the DD's to church alone this morning - I am feeling better for the sleep, but still poorly sick. I cried so much this morning cos I just coulsn't believe I was il again.

Someone remind me - at what point is the blooming supposed to start????

I'm definitely starting to show a bit, miles earlier this time around so starting to panic gently - how vast am I going to get? Eeeek!!

mammyjo · 08/10/2006 21:32

I dont think I ever bloomed first time round!!! Heres hoping for this one!
CD, didnt realise you were the beginning of April too, shows how much notice I actually take when I am reading the posts doesnt it!! Really pleased that my due date didnt change following my scan though, was worried it would go back into March meaning I wouldnt get the longer maternity leave.
Hope you manage to sleep well and feel better tomorrow xxxx

weeonion · 09/10/2006 07:04

morning all and good luck to everyone who has scans today and this week! i keep losing track but i guess there will be a few throughout the next couple of weeks. we are all coming to a third of the way through

sorry to put a downer on a monday morning but woke up this morning in an awful mood. i thought depression was meant to be postnatal but i have been really really down over the past couple of weeks. i just could not face the thought of people today so emailed in sick at 5am. sitting doing the work 2 email i was meant to be verballing reporting. bit blue @ moment. does (did) anyone else get like this?

Katy44 · 09/10/2006 07:59

weeonion, is there a reason you're feeling down? Are you feeling ill or not sleeping well? Are you stressed at work? I hope this is a temporary thing for you! Take care of yourself and have a relaxing day xx

CornflakeKid · 09/10/2006 08:07

Oh weeonion you poor thing - the first 3 months is really tough and can be miserable - haven't suffered from depression myself - heres lots of hugs and positive vibes xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

littlefrog · 09/10/2006 08:26

Hello everyone,
Can I join? I've been reading this thread for weeks and weeks, but because of previous early miscarriages haven't had the courage to join. Just seemed it would be tempting fate. Anyway, I'm 15 weeks today, due 2nd April, so I am beginning to think I need to let go of my paranoia!
One thing I definitely need help with is getting up the courage to tell a few more people - so far my sister and one (also pregnant) friend know, and that's it. Does anyone else feel fearful about sharing the news or have you all been longing to tell folk? (Or told them really early?)
Looking forward to getting to know you all.

CaptainDippy · 09/10/2006 08:30

Sorry mammyjo - I am actually due at the END of April Dunno where that came from then!! Sorry!

Awwwwww, weeonion, soooooooo sorry you are feeling low. [[[hugs]] Like CK, I haven't felt low before / after my PGs, but I certainly have had v.low times in the past. Keep coming on here and posting and get all the help / rest you poss can. Talk to your DP / DH and go to your drs if your deem it neccessary. [[hugs]]] and smooches!

STILL feeling pretty dire today. Pains in lower abdomen, full of cold, headache and sore muscles. I'm going to call the drs and make an appointment for this afternoon, although I know it is futile. Perhaps I should go to the EPU, but no one to look after the DD's. Mmmmmmmmmmm....

CaptainDippy · 09/10/2006 08:31

Hey littlefrog (LOVE your posting name!! ) Welcome!!!! Congrats on your PG - Come and join us lunatics!!!!!

CornflakeKid · 09/10/2006 08:34

Welcome Little Frog - I told everyone because I felt so sick and because I started to look pg about 5 weeks ago (its my third!) - I told work at 12 weeks and shook for about 20 minutes!

We are a happy bunch on here and very supportive - I hope you feel welcome xxx (well - we do moan a bit from time to time!)

CD - please go to EPU and get yourself checked out hun xxx

Good luck with scans today!

Off on school run......
