Not that I profess to have a brain of any sorts but here is a new thread as requested!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sexonlegs · 07/10/2006 08:38

Morning all. Hope everyone is well. Still getting the odd twinge on my left hand side low down, and had a bit more bloody cm - sorry tmi this early.
I just need to sit it out and wait until Monday. How are you Bubba?
I bought a fetal heartbeat monitor from ebay, and am hoping that may come today. Trouble is though I think it says you can hear from 12 weeks only.
Anyway, hope everyone has a lovely day, and those that need to rest up get the chance. Will be back later to check on everyone.
Hugs xx

mammyjo · 07/10/2006 09:16

Morning everyone. SOL and Bubba, hope you get chance to rest a bit over the weekend and that everything settles down for you. It must be so stressful for you both. Thinking of you xxxx

Spoke to soon about the ms and promptly spewed twice last night in quite spectacular fashion!! Do feel better generally though so that is good.

Hope we all have a good weekend.

sallycinnamon · 07/10/2006 09:52

Thinking of you SOL and bubba. It must be awful to have to wait. Try to keep your mind active.x
MIAM like you I would be useless with a doppler- it would take over my life which I don't think would be a good thing!
Hope you all have a good day. Parents are taking dd to the zoo so I have a day in front of the rubbish on Living TV, yay!!

bubbaOOOOOOO · 07/10/2006 10:00

Morning All,

Feeling not too bad this morning, although still have aches and pains,on and off.
MIAM-That is dreadful with your dh getting the wrong rsults back.Had a look last night at what that EPU "doctor" put in my notes and from what I can read she's also put that I'm NOT anaemic, after me telling her I have pernicious Anaemia-why don't these people listen to what you tell them!
SOL-What time is your scan on Monday? Mine is in the morning on Tuesday,so not long now.
Mammyjo-Glad you're feeling better,after last night.
Just put Ds down for his nap so hopefully he'll sleep now til about 12.30,and I'll go and sit with my feet up.

bubbaOOOOOOO · 07/10/2006 10:02

Hi Sally-x Posted with you! I would also be useless with a doppler and would get myself into such a panic if I didn't hear anything.Hope the weather is nice for the zoo-it's lovely here.Which zoo are they going to? We love zoo'z and were only at one a couple of weeks ago.

claricebean · 07/10/2006 10:08

Hi everyone,
I joined a week or so ago and then haven't posted as my sister has been visiting. Well I now have 5 weeks of DH being away behind me, and only two more to go - thank goodness. Being pg and looking after 3 children has its good and bad moments!

I've been to the doctors here in Spain now and got myself into the pg system. As I had a NT scan and CVS in the UK I thought it would be tempting fate too much to get the ball rolling here. But now I am 14+3 weeks, I am finally allowing myself to be excited. Of course, I was in trouble with the nurse (no midwives here) for not turning up until now - oh well. I see the obstetrician on Monday, so should get another scan then.

Right, off to catch up on some of this thread now. I hope everyone's OK and scans are going well.

Greengirl, I saw from your recent post about twinges that you did have CVS. It must've gne OK, I guess? Congrats for that - it must be a big weight of your mind.

sallycinnamon · 07/10/2006 13:51

Hi Clarice glad things are going well for you!
Bubba- they've gone to Twycross Zoo near Tamworth. DH and I are wondering how many ridiculously over priced cuddly toys and other kinds of souvenirs she'll come home with!

bubbaOOOOOOO · 07/10/2006 15:04

Sally-Don't think we've actually been to that one...yet.
Totally agree, the prices are ridiculous-even the entrance fee at some zoo's are a joke.I'm sure she'll have fun though,so that's all that matters really.

Katy44 · 07/10/2006 16:38

Hello again everyone, have been quite alarmed by the posts on bleeding, SOL and bubba- I really hope scans quickly put your minds at rest.

A minor piece of good news....I think, touch wood, cross fingers, toes, every superstition that you can think of, that my ms has gone!! (My first post on MN I think was complaining about it). It's only now it's gone that I actually realise how bad I must have been feeling - I feel human again and it's been so long.

CornflakeKid · 07/10/2006 17:09

Hello everyone

I have had the whole day to myself - boys are due back soon - have felt fine all day but the thought of cooking tea is making me queasy again! 6 weeks of sickness now - I can't take it anymore! Very jealous of you Katy44 - did you just wake up one day and it was gone?

Have been looking at pushchairs today - a bot early I know - but have heard so much about new pushchairs such as bugaboo and quinny - thought would go and see for myself. Thought they were nice but blimin expensive for what you get!

No dopplers in John Lewis, Boots or Tots R uS...

mammyjo · 07/10/2006 17:33

Claricebean, didnt realise you were in Spain. Is the weather still warm and lovely? Its been so miserable here which I am sure doesnt help with my general mood at the moment!!
Do you speak Spanish? I started to learn about 18 months ago but had to give it up when I started my degree. Just didnt have time to do both but I do intend to go back to it eventually when degree is out of the way (only a few months and a dissertation to go )!!

Hope everyone is having a good day, especially Sally with your feet up! Glad you are feeling better Katy, me too and it did seem to improve overnight.

CornflakeKid · 07/10/2006 17:42

Maybe tonight is the night.....!

Katy44 · 07/10/2006 17:50

CornflakeKid I hope so! Will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Mine didn't go overnight, but the 'sick' days got further and further apart. What did go overnight though was the feeling sick all through the day - the last few times I've been sick that's it, over with. I can cope with that, it was feeling hungover and nauseous all day that did it for me!
Apologies if TMI but I'm sure not, I've read a lot worse!!

sallycinnamon · 07/10/2006 18:01

I can cope with a hangover if I've had a good time getting like that. But when you feel like you have a hangover and the strongest thing you've had is water well that's just not funny! Glad you're feeling better Katy

CornflakeKid · 07/10/2006 18:03

Don't have the hangover effect anymore - just feel awful in evenings and smells make me barf at anytime! And exhausted by this time...ready for bed...

mammyjo · 07/10/2006 18:09

Agree with you Katy. The continuous nausea has definitely improved. Its not til it starts to go that you truly realise how debilitating it was!!

weeonion · 07/10/2006 18:52

speakign of smells makign people barf - how did geordiemacminx get on???

hollyhobbie · 07/10/2006 19:18

Hi SOL- be careful with the doppler (if you get one!) I heard you can potentially hear the heartbeat from 10 weeks, but when I asked my midwife about it, she said that it was much more reliable from 14 weeks, and that if you tried too early and didn't hear anything, then it could make you worry/panic etc...
Since (at that time) I hadn't had my scan yet, I thought that in that case I wouldn't even bother with the doppler, as I couldn't 100% believe that there was a baby there yet, and then if we heard no heartbeat...
Anyway, I can see how it would reassure you, but just don't panic if you use it early and don't hear anything!

BTW, I've not been posting, because I have nothing new to report, but I'm here every 1-2 days, reading, reading, reading...

HH (14+4)

Sexonlegs · 07/10/2006 20:02

Hiya ladies, hope you have all had a good day. Thanks for the note HH re the doppler. Fortunately it didn't arrive today so didn't get to stress myself out!
Well, a slight tinge of blood in cm, but hardly anything, so feeling more hopeful. Still have pg symptoms - sore boobs and feel so sick it's not true. Anyway, will still push for the scan on Monday, just to see what is what.
Thank you for your support lovely ladies - what would we do without Mumsnet?
Going to have a takeaway and watch x factor shortly, so will see you all tomorrow.
Big hugs. xx

CaptainDippy · 07/10/2006 20:40

Right - caught up!

Feeling knackered tonight - bed soon, me thinks .....

Oh, SOL and Bubba, it has been a tough few dayd for you guys - sorry to hear about the slight bleeding etc - hoping the time flies so you can have nice, reassuring scans etc - Thinking of you both and glad the bleeding has reduced etc. xxxx

Hi Clarice and Katy44 - Good to "see" you both!! Glad the MS seems to have gone Katy - fab news!! Glad it's only 2 more weeks til DH gets back Clarice - big respect to you honey - I'll bet you'll be sooooo pleased to have him home!!

Big respect to you too Mammyjo - doing your degree and being PG and having another little person in tow!!!!! What are you studing? Is it with OU or affliated a a Uni??

Fellow PG lady smooches to all. xxxx

weeonion · 07/10/2006 22:03

good evenng folks - how are we all?

just had to post after reading some other threads. we are a v v nice & supportive bunch in comparision to some of what i have read. i think i am naive....
1/ in hoping that those who use MN do so because they want to give / recieve support not personally attack others
2/ in hoping that first time mums to be could really learn from the more experinced woen and not be thought of as a pain, nuisance and general joke
3/ in hoping that all classes and types of women would be welcomed and accepted, not judged on quality of spelling or choice of words.

i am quite hurt & shocked by some of what i have read. i really hope we dont turn that way. maybe i am just too tired tonight..........

sleep well xoxo

bubbaOOOOOOO · 07/10/2006 22:09

Well said,Weeonion-I have also read some nasty posts overthe last few days.

All is well here-spent the evening blubbing through the X-factor and have just had a lovely long soak in the bath and off to bed in a mo.
Poor dh was on a 12 hour shift today and is doing the same again tomorrow, but then he's off for a couple of days which'll be nice.

Night all.xxx

CaptainDippy · 08/10/2006 04:57

Hi - I have to admit, I don't find time to delve into the rest of MN much, but I think it is shocking and awful that people treat other so badly on here - glad my antenatal group has tunred out to be such a lovely bunch of people!!

I am up at this obscene time feeling yukky and sick - full of cold, v.windy and retching - yuk yuk yuk!!

Going to try and go back to bed in a sec.....

Poor DH Bubba - but it will be lovely to spend a couple of days with him soon!

liath · 08/10/2006 07:11

MN certainly goes through some odd phases - always seems to be around the full moon. TBH that's why I'm sure a lot of people stick to the ante/post natal clubs. I've been here a coupls of years and but tend to be a keep the head below the parapet type.

Was chatting to my sister the other day as she's a MNer too and we were saying what a pity it was that the site gets nasty at times because it leaves a bad taste when it's supposed to be all about support etc. I suppose you see all aspects of human nature here and some are less pleasant than others.

Anyway, this thread is fab!

IsabellaMoi · 08/10/2006 07:59

I have been very busy for the last 4-5 days so hadn't been checking our thread - just got through a marathon read to catch up.

Welcome to Tili! A hug, love and lots of sympathy to Treacletart - hope you are back on the antenatal threads SOON. And, GGF, I am thrilled for you and your bean. Yippee!! SOL and Bubba - hope the scans on Monday and Tuesday go wonderfully and set your minds at ease. I have mine on Monday - for so long it seemed to be WEEKS away and suddenly it's here!!

Weeonion - couldn't agree more. So glad we are such a nice, supportive, non-judgemental lot (collective self-congratulatory pat on the back!). It costs nothing to be considerate and makes everybody feel better. I've hardly looked at other threads/sites but the little I've seen does make me think this is a friendlier than average group of mummies/mummies-to-be.

Hope everyone who is still struggling with ms and exhaustion turn the corner soon. My nausea is still around but has decreased dramatically - and I no longer feel like I HAVE to go to bed at 9pm every night.

Oh - and CD, sorry about the driving test. Here's hoping next time goes like a charm and you get a 'less vile' examiner.
