xoxoxo

CornflakeKid · 04/10/2006 18:10

congrats to weeonion xxx

These past weeks have been such a rollercoaster - thank goodness we've had eachother to chat too xxx

bubbaOOOOOOO · 04/10/2006 18:16

Oh TreacleTart-I'm so sorry to hear your news. Please take care of yourself and hopefully you'll soon be back on another antenatal thread before long.x

Weeonion-Glad to hear your scan went well.Wow...14 tops for £14,what a bargain.

Welcome Tili-we share a due date at the mo,although mine might change when I go for our scan on Tuesday.

CF-My booking in appointment was also a total waste of time.At least they managed to hear the heart beat-that's always nice to hear.

I have actually started feeling a bit iffy over the last few days-not sick, but just a bit strange.Hoping it's a good sign, although I never had any pg symptons with Ds and all was well there.

Ange-Hope the Grommits went in without any hiccups.

Hope everyone is well.x

CornflakeKid · 04/10/2006 18:21

My crampy pains have come back again and have gone into flap mode/tears - need to pick up notes from hosp in morning so if not gone will get them to check heartbeat again.

Off to sleep now so can't sit and worry!

liath · 04/10/2006 18:23

Treacletart - I'm so sorry, wishing you all the very best now and for the future.

Weeonion - congrats - I think you have another scan tomorrow don't you? Mine's at 9.30 at the Royal. I'm chuffed as DH has a very rare day off AND he has a car parking permit since he works there so we won't have to pay the outrageous car park fees ! Really hope everything's OK, am getting the pre-scan wibbles.

Zazas, I saw your thread about your mum - all I can say is ! Why don't people engage their brains before opening their mouths (or writing emails)? Are we just a particularly unlucky thread or are there a LOT of unbelievably tactless people out there?

liath · 04/10/2006 18:25

CK - I've had a lot of cramping lately too. My sister had the same at this stage so I'm wondering if it's more common once you've had at least one baby?

zazas · 04/10/2006 18:34

Treacletart - so sorry to hear your news, especially when you have come so far through the first trimester. Thinking of you and wishing you a quick return to the ante-natel threads.

Welcome to Tili!

Thanks Liath for your support..... I am not even sure why she thinks her opinion is so terribly important! I just feel if that she wanted to make it she could have still said how lovely it was to hear about the baby in some way or form! I shouldn't go down this path....but her opinions are all based around her religion and the need to keep face. I bet she won't tell my stepdad!

BlueberryPancake · 04/10/2006 18:35

Hello weeonion and everyone, had first scan today and baby very, very active doing summersaults and waiving at us! He (or she) was crossing his little feet!! it was so sweet. Due date is 20 April as expected. I also cried a bit, it's so amazing isn't it. can't wait for 20 week scan now

Greengirlforever · 04/10/2006 18:40

Treacletart - so sorry to hear your news. Like probably many others on this thread I have been there, in fact today would have been the due date of the LO I miscarried in March. Thinking of you [hugs].

weeonion · 04/10/2006 18:51

hey gals - thanks fro the well wishes.
for what its worth CFK - i spoke to the midwife about crampy pains, sometimes dull, sometimes more stretchy and other times sharp. she said not to worry - there is alot of movement of muscle, organs etc etc going on. she also said if i wasnt feeling any different done there - then she would be wondering why. i felt better about it. HTH but dont be fretting honey...

doobydoo · 04/10/2006 19:21

Hurrah for the positive scans
Treacletart..i am very sorryI hope you are getting support and wish you luck for a future pregnancy.
Thinking of you GGF
.Welcome Tili..to the rollercoaster
I mhave been having cramping pains too..like period pains and the odd sharp bit thrown in.It's a relief to hear others have it too.I am 13 weeks today[by my dates].
Have a good evening ladies and beans.

AngeG · 04/10/2006 19:38

Hi all

Wow what a busy day on here.

Treacletart - So sorry to hear you news good luck for the future.

GGF still thinking and praying for you.

Welcome Tili.

Glad all those who had scans today went well & good luck for those having them tomorrow.

I too have been suffering with the strange pains. If I get up too quickly they are really sharp, but just try to put them down to things moving about. I seem to remember feeling similar things with ds.

CD - Hope the doctor gave your lo something to help them feel better.

Sorry if I've missed anyone out, but love to you all.

Today was in some ways better than expected. Jake threw a strop first thing cos he wanted something to drink. So then I felt I couldn't eat or drink anything in front of him because it would be unfair. So didn't have anything til about 9:15 when he was in theatre. He came round really well from the op and it was successful. I can see a difference in his hearing already! He ate loads after he came round and within about an hour was back to his normal self - rushing around the place. We were home at about 5pm and he's just gone to bed. I'll be following him shortly.

Once again thankyou all for your thoughts and best wishes. I'm so glad we're such a friendly thread.

Have a good evening xx

WestCountryLass · 04/10/2006 19:38

Treacletart, I am so sorry to hear of your loss

Greengirlforever · 04/10/2006 19:45

I had posted already, at the same time as I posted to Treacletart, but was on DS1's laptop as this computer was playing up and for some reason the post didn't get through, but my preliminary CVS result is....

ALL CLEAR!!! I heard at about 4pm today, I couldn't believe it - for some reason I was really expecting the worst. I will get the full results through in about 2 and a half weeks, at which point they will also tell me the sex (cos I asked!), so will I be the first on on here to know what she is having????

So thank you all so much for all your fabulous words and support. You have got me through these first weeks as I have hardly told anyone anything, let alone what I have just gone through. Now I'm going to shout it from the rooftops! (Well, not quite.....)

Well done on all recent successful scans and good luck to everyone being scanned tomorrow .

bubbaOOOOOOO · 04/10/2006 19:51

Blueberrypancake-Glad to hear your scan went well!

Ange-Pleased to hear the op went well and your Ds has his appetite.
It's such a worry when they're in hospital-Ds has been in and out of hospital since he's been born and actually needs an operation himself very soon, which I'm dreading. It probably won't bother him as much as it bothers me-he's used to being prodded and poked.

Feel much better now.Dh is at my FIL so I've just had a yummy tuna, onion, cucumber and mayo sarnie with a nice cup of tea.
Think I'll sit down with some chocolate in a mo...while watching Gillian McKeith.

bubbaOOOOOOO · 04/10/2006 19:52

doghouse · 04/10/2006 19:56

Treacletart - sorry to hear your news but best wishes for the future.

Haven't been on for a bit (well a day - so much to catch up on!) as have finally got a job! Only part time but at least I am meeting new people (am new to area and found out I was pg just before moving - strangely a job has been hard to come by!)

Keep peaking at scan pics from Monday - there really is a LO in there!

Have a nice evening everyone.

doghouse · 04/10/2006 19:57

Great news GGF - fantastic! So pleased for you. x

CaptainDippy · 04/10/2006 20:07

Welcome Tili! Good to have you on board!!

Glad your scans went well today BlueberryPancake and weeonion - and great that your DS' op went well AngeG - told you he'd eat like a horse after coming round!! Pleased his hearing is obviously better already.

Hope your scans go well tomorrow Liath and weeonion (and anyone else who happens to have one and hasn't posted to jog my rubbish memory!) - nearly my turn!

@ your booking being such a bloomin' farce CFK - Grrrr! Glad it was all ok in the end though. I had a student do my booking and she was superb - so you just got an bad 'un, I'm afraid.

Sooooo glad the DD's are in bed now, it's been a hell of an afternoon!! Will be popping off to bed v.soon, me thinks!

AngeG · 04/10/2006 20:10

Hooray GGF absolutely fantastic news I'm so pleased for you. You must be so relieved. I nearly did a dance round the room for you and bean, DH asked what I was doing so felt a bit stupid and stopped!! Did you decide to find out the sex in the end? Don't worry I don't want to know just couldn't remember what you decided. I'm still grinning.

Doghouse - also fantastic news about getting a job. Well done, Part time good as well still got some time for yourself - make the most of it.

Bubba00000 - What has your ds got to have done? You're right about you being more bothered. I dont think ds realised what had gone on today he's so used to drs looking at his ears. Let us know when it is so we can give you support.

CaptainDippy · 04/10/2006 20:11

Wanted to post seperately for you treacletart honey. I am so very sorry. Thinking of you and hoping to see you on an antenatal thread sometime very soon - All the very best. [hugs]

Also sorry to hear that today would have been your due date GGF - such sad and happy memories all at the same time - wonderful to hear about the great result - fabulous!!

muminamini · 04/10/2006 20:28

Firstly - I just want to add my sympathy for treacletart - I am so desperatley sorry about your news today and wish you lots of love and luck - you make sure you take care of yourself hun.

GGF - Absolutley the best news - really chuffed for you and I'm glad you didn't have to wait too long in the end.

Fab news about your scans BBP and weeonion and congrats on the job Doghouse.
Also "Welcome to the madhouse" to Tili!

Ange - so glad your little one is in recovery mode - such a worry for you!

So much has been happening to everyone today - I am so sorry if I've missed anyone out.
Glad I made you smile CD - but joking aside - my stomach truly is the most disgusting thing....lol and I've lost 2 and a half stone since my first!!! eeek

Well I won't be long out of bed - feel v tired tonight and couldn't face the nice pasta tea DH made me and ended up eating a bowl of Chocolate Boulder Cereal - highly nutritious NOT!!!

Sleep well ladies and take care of your bumps and beanies...I just keep thinking this time next week I'll have had my scan!
xx

bubbaOOOOOOO · 04/10/2006 21:40

Ange-Ds has something very similar to Talipes but thankgoodness,so far he hasn't needed an operation-he had both his legs in plaster for 10 weeks when he was born and now just has to wear "special boots",so we're always at the hospital, being measured, seeing specialists and getting new ones as his feet are growing so fast.
He was also born with an undescended testicle which he needs an operation on.We haven't got a date yet but do have an appointment to see the surgeon next month.
It's just the thought of an anaesthetic(sp) which bothers me.We had a horrible accident when he was just 3 weeks old and he ended up in hospital quite badly injured and although he had just about every test and scan going,he's never had an anaesthetic.I'm sure he'll be fine, but it still doesn't stop you worrying.
