AngeG · 03/10/2006 20:53

Thanks guys you are all so great. Don't know what I'd do without you all.

Zazas I'll try that - thought I mite take a box of dry cereal with me to snack on. I lived on dry frosties early on. Hope your DS is recovering well.

Doobydoo - drink as well great idea red or white wine!

Liath - Chocolate sounds like a great idea!

Weeoinion - all being well he should be out the same day, just depends how he comes round and whether he'll eat and drink anything. Hope your scan goes well. How organised writing out a list of questions. Sweet stuff to eat would definitely be a good idea keep the blood sugar up.

Just finished eating a macdonalds just didn't fancy anthing else!

Thanks again for caring and your great suggestions. Will let u know how we get on.
Love to you all

BlueberryPancake · 03/10/2006 20:56

OK, then my booking scan is tomorrow as well, altough we're not sure at all at this stage what my due date will be as I was breastfeeding when I got pregnant and didn't have my periods so tomorrow's scan will be a big surprise, I could be three or four months pregnant, I don't know!!

Weeonion, let us know how you get on!

AngeG · 03/10/2006 20:57

Sorry cd our entries overlapped. Thanks for your support.

What did you get a lecture about?

Glad your feeling better. Hope the children are too.

WestCountryLass · 03/10/2006 21:19

I had my scan today and I am officially 15 weeks with a EDD of 28th March

Baby was moving loads and al the measurements were reassurring; both arms and legs were measuring the same, the hands appeared normal and the head was formed properly, the heart and stomach were in the right places. Very reassurring considering my history

AngeG, my DS had a minor op at 12 months and it is horrible fearing the unknown (((hugs))) My DS was running around like a loon and they let me go early as he would not eat their jarred babyfood and I needed to feed him!

CaptainDippy · 03/10/2006 21:27

@ scan WCL - great news!! Hope yours goes well tomorrow BP - I didn't have any periods between DD1 and 2 - so I know that feeling of the unknown - it was all rather exciting (I was 8 weeks when I went for a scan "to check".)

AngeG - I got the "lecture" cos my friend thinks I am crazy for having my children so close together; but that is how DH and I planned it. I don't want big age gaps. I'll have 3 under 3.5 when this one is born - I love my little family, my two are so close and loving, I wouldn't have it any other way - She told me about 4 months ago if I got PG with another in the next year she would be v. with me - and she seemed pretty {shock] and fuming!! Scary!!!! Hey, it's mine and DH's choice.

People are funny.

CaptainDippy · 03/10/2006 21:28

.... Oh, and she doesn't have any children BTW - neither is she married / living with someone.

Did someone mention Trifle .......... !!!!!!?

weeonion · 03/10/2006 21:40

WCL - congrats on teh scan. i got goosebumps reading yr post

pancake - I'll be thinking of you too 2morro

capatin dippy - sorry if it sounds out of place but that lady sounds a right dragon.....

night folks- v tired and off for cuddles

WestCountryLass · 03/10/2006 21:59

Thank you, CD and WO

But, gosh, CD, your friend must have lots of other positive attributes How on Earth do your family dynamics affect her???????

liath · 04/10/2006 07:31

Gosh - very autumnal this morning - cold, damp & misty!

Am so at what people think they can get away with saying about having babies. It's as if the moment you're pregnant it's open season on making comments on your body shape/bump size/number of children etc.

Luckily my poor younger sister has drawn off the stupid comments in my family as she'll have a smaller gap between her two, continued (shock horror) to breastfeed despite being pg and started to show overnight so is getting all the "aren't you BIG....what, only 24 weeks!!! Sure it's not twins, guffaw" stuff.

Good luck everyone having scans (and grommets) today!

muminamini · 04/10/2006 08:00

AngeG Good luck today at the hospital and weeonion and blueberry pancake for your scans.

GGF - just want to retierate what everyone said yesterday - well done you for getting through the procedure and I hope the time goes quick till your results - fingers crossed xxxx

WCL - excellent news re scan - so jelous at you for being 15 weeks! lol And hurray for all other scan results too - still another week to go for me!

Finally had to give in and admit to myself that none of my non work clothes fit any more - my jeans are bursting even withthe laccy band through the button hole! My tops are al tight and ride up...I had to finally give in and wear a maternity top yesterday from last time yesterday. Only problem is with the bottom half. My maternity jeans are stil way too big and my "normal" jeans don't fit and I refuse to buy a bigger pair of normal jeans (they would have to be a size 22!!)So I am just covering the stomach area with longer tops and leaving the button undone but I feel like such a scruff!!!!

Oh well - have a good day - I feel a bit snuffly this morning - like I'm starting with a cold.

Best go - DS is dramatically shouting "Help" to get me to go and watch Boogie Beebies with him! - I love Pete
xx

geordiemacminx · 04/10/2006 08:44

Weeonion,AngeG, Blueberry pancake good luck today. Let us know how you get one. xxx

Don't worry MIAM - having similar problems with my clothes - tummy v.large and unsightly - yuk! At least I've got an excuse!!

All the best to those having scans today and for brave AngeG taking her LO to have grommits done - hope it goes well and you've packed enough snacks for a week!! Let us know how it all goes everyone!!

Had an awful night last night - DD1 was up practically all night - hot and fevery with a mega sore throat - her lips and cracked and bleeding and we can't get any medicine into her at all. Feeling v.hopeless being at home with both my girls today - feel like I need some help big time!! They are both asleep atm, which is good - dreading them waking up! Poor little things. DH has an important day at work today so had to leave early and won't be able to come home for hooooooooours. Sorry - off on one moaning again - at least I feel better and am more able to look after them!

How's everyone else doing today??

CornflakeKid · 04/10/2006 09:34

Oh CD - I really do feel for you - hope they have a nice long sleep and wake up a bit perkier

I have my booking in today - which relieved about as been having crampy pains this morning - hopefully just growing pains! Going to have my weekly child free bubble bath and some ovaltine and a sleep!!!

Mumsnet very addictive - need to unplug laptop and put in cupboard with lock!

geordiemacminx · 04/10/2006 09:49

Poor you cd... I had a rubbish night with only myself to look after so I really feel for you..

I got so hot and uncomfortable that dp went and slelpt in the spare room.. in the bunk beds!! After that I slept like a log!!

CFK.. I been having stretchy type pains too.. not as bad as cramp I would say.. just stitchy type pains if that makes sense? I have read a few places that its just growing pains/uterus stretching. Been feeling extra sick recently too which is suppose to indicate growing!! I'm 10+1 today.

CaptainDippy · 04/10/2006 10:10

Awwwww, thanks guys!! Just waiting for DH to come home & take DD1 to dr as DD2 is sleeping & I don't drive anyway.

I've been getting cramps & stretching pain too - & this is my 3rd!!!!!! Can I get any saggier!!!!??

muminamini · 04/10/2006 10:46

Oh what a shame CD - hope your girls brighten up a bit - you've certainly had more than your fair share of the bugs...

Touch wood my DS has been ok for a while now - just waiting for the winter nursery cold merry go round to start!

CFK - know what you mean about mumsnet being addictive - my DS this morning keeps coming in and saying "Mummy TURN IT OFF"! lol

Also had the stretchy pains...quite disconcerting at first until I remembered them from last time...
Know what you mean about saggy tum - mine looks horrible...like a big elephant scrotum and thats just after one! (and too many pies)

Things we go thru for kids eh!
Well I am at work this afternoon - bah humbug and will prob be too tired to come on tonight so have a good day and speak to you all later.

MIAM 11+5

CaptainDippy · 04/10/2006 10:49

PMSL @ "elephant scrotum"

Hear, Hear!!

zazas · 04/10/2006 10:53

Good luck for the scans today... I am still carrying my three wee pictures around with me from yesterday - keeps me positive! Especially as I was extremely sick last night throwing up - my DS does a great impression of me vomiting - how lovely! Feel the same this morning at work so I have one eye on the bathroom door! At 13 weeks it must be nearly finished - tell me yes someone!

CD - hope your DD's are feeling better - it is tough on your own with sick ones especially when you are not at 100%. Times like this I always try to just get by and focus on the fact that time will pass and things will get better. Like I am doing now really!

CaptainDippy · 04/10/2006 11:03

Thanks zazas - DH has come home and taken DD1 to the dr now, hoping they can do something for the poor wee mite.

I love the little scan pics they give you - soooo lovely and exciting!! Reeeeeeally hoping you start feeling better soon zazas, poor thing. [hugs]]

Hey Tili.. Welcome!!!

Everything is pretty quiet today.. think most people are away getting scans or being sick!!!

You'll find us a chatty bunch... although this is usually between moaning about sickness, other halves and discussing trifle!!!

Bramshott · 04/10/2006 15:19

Hey, I'm away being concientious (sp?) and doing some work, and not at all checking back here every 5 mins to see if anyone's posted anything exciting! Mumsnet is a bit like having a group of friends all chatting away in another room while you try to concentrate on getting on with stuff!

Welcome Tili!

CornflakeKid · 04/10/2006 15:49

Had my booking in - was a complete farse - at one point couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry! They hadn't brought any booking in stuff for me - then they wrote my details on someone elses form - then a student midwife said my fundus was by my belly button - NOT - it just got worse really ... they were very embarrassed! Then they couldn't find heartbeat - kept telling her she was doing it too high - then proper midwife took over and heard babys heartbeat - aaahhhhh! The world has been put right! So going to collect my notes from the hosp tomorrow!

I am 12+4 now - made sure they were putting my details forward for 20 week scan!!!

Waiting for ds1 to arrive home to cook dinner for them before sick...then football...then another early night!!!

GGF are you here?

weeonion · 04/10/2006 16:52

good afternoon folks!! in great mood today!!
bluepancake - any news from you - how did you get on????
GGF - any news honey - thinking of you. xoxoxo

angeg - how dd it go with yr LO? hope the grommits are in ok and u felt ok this morning...
CD - poor u & all yr brod - you have been through the mill. hopefully the worst ogf it is over (fingers crossed)
muminamini - yr post made me LOL, LOL about elephant scrotum. this si my first LO but i did lose 10 stone a coupel f years ago so this stomach looks like rhino skin, only wobblier.(TMI) v v interetsted to see how it develops during PG!!

well - had my booking in appt & first scan today
i actually did cry a bit (while trying not to wee on the table as she pressed on my tummy) Dp's face was a hoot - complete amazement and shock, "it really is happening!" all seems ok - v active but hands, feet heartbeat etc etc there. really liked the midwife - so opted for care at hospital instead of GP (he doesnt seem to have a clue. was a bit freaked by the ages of the other mums - average 18?? felt like a granny sitting there! Dp has taken the pic to work to sit and gaze at while i went shopping - bless.

just bought 14 new tops for £14 in primark to see me through the next few months!

good mood right now and feeling fine - hope you all are too........

treacletart · 04/10/2006 17:58

Hi girls, I haven't posted much, not even sure if I'm on part II at all, but I shall be waving goodbye and wishing you all love and luck. We had bad news at the scan today (11 weeks) - of a missed miscarriage. There's no heartbeat and they think our little bean stopped growing 7-10 days ago. Only decision now is to let nature take its course or help it on - and I'm pretty certain I'd like the latter. I feel weirdly OK about all this - maybe a part of me was always prepared for the worst or maybe it'll kick in later. I just feel I'd like to get it sorted as quickly as possible and start trying again. I got preganant very quickly this time and with my DS now 3, so I'm hoping it wont take long next time. Anyway, I've enjoyed dipping in to this thread and I may well still take a peek from time to time - good luck X
