Apologies for the hijack but PMSL at this title, 2Happy - well done!!

theUrbanDryad · 21/09/2006 19:24

Hum. Perhaps I should also have put in the title "and besides, that's what got us into this mess in the first place!"...

Love the title couldn't have worded it any better!! UD you posted on part 3 about the 4d scan its me thats booked it have to say we phoned babybond and they wanted £200 so phoned the clinic where I had my private early scan as I knew they were waiting for the machine in June, anyway it was delivered in august and because they are still training on it I got the scan for a reduced price of £100 as it may take a little longer than normal for them to get all the pictures. I get all 6 pictures printed plus all the still images on a CD Rom and a DVD of the whole thing we are quite excited about it all and decided going to take DD with us as she might be able to relate to this scan more!!

Glad to hear wedding plans are okay and dont worry about the nerves think they are perfectly normal an it will all be fine on the day.

JaneNZ · 22/09/2006 10:45

2Happy - think it is a fabulous title! Have just discovered the phenomenon of weeing myself when I laugh/sneeze/cough, not much fun.

Also think another good title of this thread could be - "When your bladder is the size of a walnut and you have to plan any outings around places where there are toilets..." - although that's a bit long.

Happy weekends to all!!!

Dragonhart · 22/09/2006 11:33

Sorry your DD is not doing so well Nemo. Hope she is better soon. xxx

Hate public toilets!! Yuck! Ususally have the bladder of a camel so dont need to use them but now have to as cant last till I get home. Hate the fact that so many women dont wash their hands then you have to touch everything they have like the door ect.

Was in IKEA last week and went into the baby changing room, where there was a tiny baby being changed (cant have been more than afew weeks) Her mum changed a dirty nappy. Got her dummy out and gave it to her without washing her hands, then the baby spat it out onto the floor, so she picked it up, sucked it and put it back in the baby's mouth. Yuck Yuck Yuck!!

Sorry, do I sound like I have an OCD!! Dont - promise just think some people are disgusting!!

Hope everyone is well - I am extra knackered today as DS had a really bad night with teething and a temp. Going to put my feet up while he has a nap and watch rubbish day time TV.

Hattie2 · 22/09/2006 14:42

Great title 2happy

I'm with you on the public toilets dragonhart, hate them - and I have a 3yo who HAS to go to the toilet at least 3 times every time we leave the house!

jessddibs · 22/09/2006 17:10

Dragonhart, I completely 100% agree with you with the public toilet/not washing hands thing. It is not an ocd issue it's dirty, disgusting people! I have always made an issue of dd washing her hands and it is second nature to her now. It's funny because she picks up on other people not washing their hands and ALWAYS says out loud "mummy, why didn't that lady wash her hands? She has germs now dosen't she!" The said lady normally can't get out the door quick enough!! The strange thing is, is that dd gets praised alot by strangers when in public toilets for washing her hands!!! Strange dirty people around. And the Domestos bleach advert on tv has helped dd understand the importance and she has an image now of how horrible germs are!!. Went on a bit there didn't I

Liking the title by the way! I havn't done the deed since I found out I was pregnant!!! But I must say that I am starting to feel horney again and dh doesn't seem interested!!?! the bump now makes him feel a little uncomfortable

Hope everyone is ok.x.

magnolia1 · 22/09/2006 18:24

Lol love the title

Dd4 is terrible for telling people off if they don't wash their hands

Had antenatal yesterday and was told my midwife that the chances of the placenta moving was very unlikely as on the last scan it was completeley blocking the cervix

So 999 if any bleeding or spotting and to expect a c section by 36 weeks at the latest!!!!!! So a november baby for sure possibly end of October

Girls its September now, how can I have a baby next month!?!?!?
Shitting myself again now

Dragonhart · 22/09/2006 19:54

Gosh Magnolia. How scary!! That seems so close. A family member had an early delivery at 26 weeks with her DD which is just a week and a half away from now for me. I felt bad as I had been complaining about going two weeks over last time and she said that she wished she had gone afew more weeks. Felt terrible. Always putting my big flappy feet in it! Hope you are ok.xxx

morningpaper · 22/09/2006 19:56

hahahaha at the title

How to get yourselves noticed, ladies!

Congrats all and good luck!

Nemo1977 · 22/09/2006 21:12

pmsl well done..I was watching the other thread wondering where everyone was..lol

Title also not applicapble to me at the min Thanks to lovely back rub from dh...lol

thanks for all the thoughts for dd..she is doing a lot better today and has had the last of her steroids this evening. Have a cold coming on which is fun ..lol

coffeebeanz · 22/09/2006 22:02

Sorry girls but I just dont get the title either although I think my DH is a bit like yours JDibbs and performing out of duty

Magnolia, feel for you, but every day is a day closer. Try not to worry - nothing could happen until 36 weeks.

In-laws are staying with us this weekend (groan) and DD has casually shown grandma all the baby clothes we bought in France so the girl/boy surprise is out. Never mind.

Getting late ... can't wait to go to bed !!!!!

elliepippamummy · 23/09/2006 07:41

Coffebeanz your DD not the only one everyone keeps asking my 2 year old (only just 2 so limited words anyway) what shes having but she seems to say girl alot so everyone thinks they've got her to tell them but I just say hat she always says that!!

Nemo glad your DD getting better sorry to hear about the cold. I'm working today (have to do one sat a month 9-3) so DH got DD they are off to friends this morning and ten he is takig her to watch the footie team he normally plays for on saturdays I think he is determined that one of his daughters will love football !!

Loubie37 · 23/09/2006 08:45

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been around for a while - all I want to do is sleep at the mo! And forget sex - that's gone right out the window, I'm way too tired and uncomfy for all that malarkey! Love the title - very apt!

Gosh I feel old.....it's DD's birthday today, she's 15!! I struggle now to remember what it was like being pg with her (other than the constant sickness from 3 months until the end, which luckily I've escaped this time!)

It's strange too, going looking round at baby toys etc and then buying a digital camera for your oldest's birthday present!

I got some more really good bargains again from Boots, online this time. I got an e-mail through saying if you spend £75 online you get 750 bonus points....so I thought I'd look at the Christmas 3 for 2 offers (there's 100s of them online!). The cot mobile we were going to buy was included in the offer, so I bought that, and some Xmas pressies for my nephews and ended up getting 2 baby toys (for our baby!) and SIL's pressie free as well as getting over £10 worth of points. I then had a look at the baby monitors and the one I want (the BT didital one) had 700 bonus points with it, plus another 500 cos I'd spent over £50 on baby stuff, plus the other 750 extra points cos I'd spent over £75 again, so I ended up with over £22 worth of points on that order! £33+ worth of points overall....not bad, I've got just over £100 worth on my advantage card now

DH has banned me from spending any more money now until the Baby Show we'll see.....

Hope everyone is well, must dash, I'm off to wake DD up to give her her pressies, I don't know who's more excited, me or her

Loubie xx
23+0

2Happy · 23/09/2006 08:59

Thanks for all the comments about the thread title. Hope it at least raises a smile
Nemo I'm glad your dd is on the up, but sorry you're now going down!
Magnolia what a worry for you. But a baby potentially by the end of next month - now that is pant-wetting stuff!
I was speaking to Looshkin a couple of nights ago, and she was saying that, as she has a weeks holiday to take, she has only 6 weeks left to work before starting maternity leave ! That, what you're saying about your friend DH, and Magnolia's news really makes you think how quickly it's passing doesn't it! Really must get on and decorate ds's next room (he's going to be moving downstairs when the baby comes).
Happy birthday Loubie's dd, hope you have a fantastic day
Right, I'd better go and get ds - he's been suspiciously quiet and now come in with a smug grin and a book - he's been at the ruddy bookcase again!!!

I have to say that I am glad that I am having another girl. Dh agreed to have his mates 8yr old boy to stay the weekend while they are at a wedding in Ireland, without checking with me first!!! And males in general, I have now learnt, do not listen to a word I say and are grubby messy little buggers! Dh took Conner, our mates boy to play for his footie team and when they got back he walked through the house gradually removing boots, socks, shinpads and t-shirt till he was at the end of the garden! Mud everywhere and no response when asked 3 times to pick it all up!!! Dd did it in the end cause it was annoying her! lol! And SMELL! That sweaty, sporty smell of boys, can't stand it! It would drive me mad washing footie kits and getting a boy to smell clean all the time!

Anyway, I have now managed to pack Dh off to the swimming pool with the two of them. At least thats a chance to sort out all the crap! Dh had a right moan about it, but when I then gave him the option of swapping with me he quickly dissapeared out the door....cooking their dinner, washing up, doing homework (which I have been instructed must be done) getting them both in bed and asleep when they are mega excited at the prospet of a sleepover..dh soon realised he gets the best deal....especially cause Reading (our local team) play Man Utd later today and it's on sky!!! so he's doing his good deed to get a pass to watch tv!

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.x.

Thinking of you magnolia and nemo.

Have a good day Loubie!

Michelle24 · 24/09/2006 19:54

Hi all, I love the title - it really made me chuckle!
I'm expecting my first child in January, I'm really excited about it but I'm not really sure what to expect...

theUrbanDryad · 25/09/2006 12:49

yay...another first-timer! when are you due?

well, we're totally panicking about the wedding now...less than a week to go! MIL is being a right royal pain, but we all expected that i guess....my mother has got into the habit of reading my posts on here, which is a right royal pain too (she doesn't understand the concept of 'privacy', must be a dutch thing, still i guess this is a public forum so she can look at what she likes, but....i dunno, just pisses me off. am i unreasonable? probably )

anyway....HI MUM!!! i still love you!!!

Sazisi · 25/09/2006 13:01

Hello
I'm due my 3rd on Jan 27th, planning a homebirth. Have 2 daughters already.
I've just joined and having a look around..do peeps usually start an intro thread or just dive in and start posting? Any advice appreciated!
Like the title but doesn't apply to me either

laughalot · 25/09/2006 13:22

Saz just dive straight in thats if you can dive in your state . Well we had a nice weekend went to see some friends in newcastle however coming home last night there was accident it took us 4 hours to get back should have been about 2 and a half . I cant beleive iv finally started my xmas shopping not bought loads but im of the mark yipee.... Hope everyones bumps are ok im fine however because im resus negative my anti d injection is coming up in a few weeks, wish there was a emoticon for PAIN. Urban hope your nerves arent to bad I guess I better stop calling the mil if she reads these posts .

theUrbanDryad · 25/09/2006 13:49

nah, it's not my MIL who reads it, it's my mum. and she knows what i think about my MIL cause i tell her....poor ole you with the anti d injections....

saz, great to meet you...you come on in...the water's lovely! how's your pregnancy been so far? come on, dish that dirt....we love it!

becks5109 · 25/09/2006 14:08

Urban - I sympathise my MIL is a pain in the butt but I think when you marry their sons you're stuck with them - mothers and their sons!

I wondered where everyone had gone as was watching the old thread still!

Sex seems to be off for us - I feel like it and have lots of dirty thoughts but don't have the energy!

I'm having one of those days today where I can't stop eating - in the space of about 20 mins i manage to scoff a whole M&S pasta dinner with loads of parmesan, an apple, yoghurt and mars bar - so much for not trying to put on so much weight this time!

I too have an anti D coming up soon!

2Happy · 25/09/2006 15:14

Still a month off the anti-d here, thankfully!
UD - sympathies! My dsis uses MN, and it's tempting to lurk on the due Apr 07 thread to see what she's saying, but I wouldn't like anyone spying on my posts so I've managed to be good so far!
Welcome Sazisi and Michelle
Becks - tell me about it! Had a massive craving for crunchie bars, and dh was v sweet at the weekend and went and bought one. Sadly he bought 3 "spares" which are calling to me from the cupboard...
Laughalot - congrats to your sil. 1 hour labour, huh? We can dream! lol!
jessddibs - the sweaty sporty smell of boys - yeah poor ds even at his young age can have slightly cheesy feet if he wears shoes and socks all day. Sadly, though, he gets that from me
