trinityrhino · 03/10/2006 15:50

Thanks ellie

trinityrhino · 03/10/2006 15:52

I'm thinking of finding out the sex and I'm a bit worried about wether I should or not.
What if it's wrong, will that cause me to feel odd when it's born. My mother wont want tro know but my 6 yr old will tell everyone so she will find out and may be grumpy about it. I think she beleives that you shouldn't find out.
Oh I don't know, surely it should just be up to me and dh.

elliepmonstermummy · 03/10/2006 15:55

well dh was adament he didnt want to know got into the scan room and he asked!! must admit its much easier knowing this time, got 4d scan in few weeks & we going to ask them to check just to be on the safe side!!

Trying my new halloween name out (not that good at thinking of names)

Raindog · 03/10/2006 16:12

Hello Ladies

I've not been around for a while - ridiculously busy at work (but now hoping to cruise until Christmas!) and DD hasn't been too well so she's been hard work on my 'non-work (ha) days. So can I go on the list please? I'm due 25 January so feel really behind lots of you - I've still got AGES to go!

Congratulations to UrbanDryad. Sorry to hear about your problems Jessdibs.

I had my 21 week scan a few weeks ago and had a pretty rough time of it. I got told that the nuchal fold was on the thicker side of 'normal' and that one of the brain ventricles was too large. Obviously it was a horrible and really anxious day - had to go to King's and wait for 2 and half hours (with DD in tow) - didn't get seen until 6.30pm. Luckily the consultant ruled out any brain problem, and all measurements are fine except for this slightly thicker nuchal fold which 'might' indicate Down's Syndrome or a chromosomal problem.

But after all the trauma and worry, my risk factor is still only down to 1 in 300 so I don't really see why they were making such a fuss. I don't want an amnio since by my calculations it means that I'd be 3 times more likely to miscarry from that than have a baby with any problems anyway. So it was a horrid day but I'm putting it behind me and concentrating on feeling positive, and this baby doesn't half kick all day!

trinityrhino · 03/10/2006 16:16

please someone tell me something to make me feel better about finding out, I think I want to but then my mother will be funny arrgghh

oh yeah, i just got an email from the ladies at first magazine, apparently they're not running the shoot now hope i still get my expenses and the photos though....have you heard anything magnolia?

em xxx

LadyTophamHatt · 03/10/2006 16:19

TR...it's not up to your mum, find out if you want to.

She might not like it but it's not her carrying the baby.

(BTW the jeans will be in the post tomorrow morning. I forgot to give them to DH to take to the post office...DOH!! PG brian strikes again)

LadyTophamHatt · 03/10/2006 16:20

ellie, you've missed katierocket off too.

2MwahHaHaHappy · 03/10/2006 17:01

Titter, sorry LTH, but "pg Brian strikes again" sounds brilliant, and I think he will be my excuse for every daft thing I do during this pg!! (Hope you don't mind )
UD - which part of Scotland did you say you were in again? It's p*ing down here!
Raindog - I'm due 21st, so you're pretty near me. Sorry about the scan worries, I really hope this doesn't affect the rest of your pg.
TR - you could find out but not tell dd? Just tell everyone else that you didn't find out?
EPM - good name
Right, I really do have to get off MN now...

trinityrhino · 03/10/2006 17:57

hmm part of the reason we thought we might find out is so that we can prepare dd1 if it's a boy because she is adamant that it is a girl and thinks boys are horrid and doesn't want a brother. so we thought if it is a boy we could bring her round to the idea so she is happy with it before the event. thats only a little part of it though, hmm still can't decide

trinityrhino · 03/10/2006 17:59

np lady, can't wait to get them

elliepmonstermummy · 03/10/2006 18:00

Thanks LTH dont think this was the best idea I have ever had at least I can copy & paste wow we now have a grand total of 33 of us (unless pg brain struck and I can't count)

Daisypops · 03/10/2006 18:36

Carrot spot on with this comment Some men are just incredibly immature when it comes to what they see as a terrifying commitment, it might all be ego stroking.

I think men are prone to mid life crisis' and are just divs sometimes!!! theres lots of temptations out there and fellas need their ego boosing regularly. Such complicated creatures!

LTH-I don't have any other bubs and I have no hobbies either, so it must be much harder if you have other bubbas to look after. I just work, sleep, cook and clean. I'm too knackered to do anything else and as for sex...whats that? Hope you feel better soon.

Jess DH saying shes irrelevant isn't fair, its relevant to you! Don't back down even if you haven't been perfect it isn't an excuse for his to do what he did.

Trinity-if i were you I wouldn't tell DD and MIL doesn't have to know you've found out. It would be nice to suprise DD too and when she sees bub she wont mind if its a boy or a girl. Would you regret not finding out?

Congrats on your marriage Urban. Are you showing us pics?

Not really long for us all now. We're approching the third trimester now. Will anyone miss their bump?xx

trinityrhino · 03/10/2006 18:39

well, we have never found out before and thought it might be fun. also if it's a boy it's going to be in pink everything (even the buggy) until we buy some other things lol

Daisypops · 03/10/2006 18:46

Trinity- its up to you and DP/DH. I think your tempted though . Let us know.

jessddibs · 03/10/2006 20:42

Well, everything 'feels' like it's getting back to normal even if I still do not know the truth. Think maybe in the condition I am in, that it would do me more damage. The truth willout in the end I am sure. Just sick of all the atmosphere and we do get on ie: charlie and tracey in corrie, but hopefully dh isn't that bad!?!?!

Trinity - I really believe that if you really want to find out you should. It is your baby and life and eventually all the family will know in the end anyway when it is born!! my mil had issues with finding out but we just ignored her comments. We wanted to know for pratical reasons and for dd as she kept on and on about wanting a sister and boys being smelly!! ( I have raised her perfectly!) Thing is, if baby was a boy then dd was gonna have to face it anyway, so sooner rather then later in my eyes, easier to deal with when you can give them full attention!

I am liking the halloween names by the way. 2happy- Your new name put a much needed smile on my face!

Doc's was fine, bp is behaving itself and dd was a little angel!

Gonna try and organise a girlie night out at the cinema asap to see 'The devil wears prada'. Anyone seen it yet?? Looks like a chick flick and I have been a really shite mate of late, and am craving to make it up to them all. They know that all is not ok but are to frightened to ask as I they know that it always has something to do with dh!!

.x.x.x.x.x

theUrbanDryad · 03/10/2006 21:34

2Happy- we're in Oban, which is fab....off to iona tomorrow! can't wait!

whoever it was who asked - i would put pics on here but i'm not sure how...they're on here mind you, i've never managed to do a link properly on here yet, so we'll see!

jess, glad to hear things are looking up, i think you're right...you might be better off not knowing, but ultimately, only you can know that. and you can vent on here anytime!! thinking of you! xxx

MrAnnaSpanner · 03/10/2006 22:32

ellipippamummy

How many recounts before I make the list????

seriously, no worries.

un beso

el123456 · 03/10/2006 22:34

can i just ask.....am i the only one who has gone the opposite way and wants to have sex all the time?i cant even sleep for dreaming about it.am not like this when not pg.please someone tell me they the same as i am thinking i might be some kind off freak!!

Daisypops · 04/10/2006 08:44

el123456-all I can say is I'm jealous! I'd love to have sex but just can't bring myself to do it. There would be no pleasure in it for me and if I'm there like a sack 'o spuds I doubt DP would enjoy it either. And I just don't feel attractive.

Good for you though, get cracking!!!

MotherBeaker · 04/10/2006 09:08

el12346 - I am with you on the dream front, sometimes I dream such rude things that I wake up and think "Where did that come from, I haven't even tried that in real life!"

Anyone else getting stitch when they walk - also feeling a bit enormous now and have hit my bump with the fridge door and numerous other sharp corners and household appliances.

Hope everyone is well, nice to see such a big list for Jan.

posyparker · 04/10/2006 10:56

I'm getting a stitch (sometimes 2 at the same time, one on each side the the bottom of the bump!) when I walk too, MotherBeaker. And also awful aches down the insides of both thighs. I have really started the pregnancy hobble now! I can't believe I have got so ungainly so early this time, I'm sure it wasn't like this with the other two!

And I'm finding it really hard to tie my shoelaces too! Will be in clogs and wellies before long...............

It's kind of nice to know that I could start mat leave in just under 3 weeks (altho I won't, can't afford to and want as long as poss off with baby), it's getting more and more tempting as each day passes. When is everyone (everyone who works that is) planning to work up to? I am thinking up to 36 weeks, with a week's holiday before that. But that still leaves 9 whole weeks stretching ahead of me!! I can barely walk as it is!!

jessddibs · 04/10/2006 11:02

I am with everyone on the dream front, I have been having very explicit dreams!!! I dreamt that I was having an affair with Kim from home and away!?!? I have also dreamt that I gave birth on before chritmas and was really excited because we would get extra chritmas pressies!?!? lol!

I am also suffering from stitch pain when walking, so am gonna have to allow more time for the school 'walk' and tell dd to calm down!

Feeling quite good today, dh is being lovely, and to be honest I am in the frame of mind that I don't give a shit as long as we are happy and he's giving me respect....at the mo! I have found no evidence of texts/calls etc and he is actually leaving his mobile out in the kitchen all night swithched on, so who knows.

It is a shame that first magazine is not running the maternity pics, did they give a reason why?? If you all still get the pics can you present them to us online!?!?

Well, off to have a sort out and list some things on ebay for sale!
