Hi Ladies thread 3!! 2nd Trimester we are on a roll!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kkllww · 17/09/2014 13:49

I don't own a pair of scales as know I'd get obsessed otherwise. For the first time I couldn't fit into a work skirt this morning though - really need to buy some more mat clothes as for work I now only have one pair of trews (undone) with a belly band over the top :/

Donkir - i'm due on the same day as you. My 2nd too!

Is anyone else have a real 'can't be bothered' attitude with work? I seem to spend a lot of the day just staring at my increasing to do list...

freneticfox · 17/09/2014 14:11

I'm feeling intermittent 'pop' sensations today, almost like a throb - think it might be baby!!

Viperama · 17/09/2014 14:25

I've my 20 week scan today and just realised I haven't had any literature confirming or telling me how to prepare....

Do I need to start drinking liquid an hour before like at 12 week scan? If so how much?

Scans at 350? So leaving home in 40 minutes.

Memphisbelly · 17/09/2014 14:28

Frenetic it sounds like it!

I was at the hospital for nearly 3 hours and have to go back again next week and was told it may be an even longer wait! At the minute she doesnt want me to be added for the clotting injections as I am active and haven't gained fat so am low risk. But she wants me to see a cardiologist as I had heart problems after ds they also said about a phychiatrist team due to me having pnd last time but I dont want to do that one I dont think.

I have still put on no weight, my waist is 39 inches which is 11 inches bigger than normal but it was that size by 10 weeks.

Memphisbelly · 17/09/2014 14:32

Viper no water needed this time. Trousers you can lower a bit and take some choc/ sweets and a cold drink in case they need to get the baby moving! (Saves you having to visit the shop like I did)

Viperama · 17/09/2014 15:13

Thnx Memphis, off I go xx

Bangonthedoor · 17/09/2014 15:18

Good luck viper! Smile

Grinningcat · 17/09/2014 16:40

Hope it has gone well Viper. I have 2 more weeks to wait for my 20 week scan. Still don't know if DH can make it yet.

I also can't be bothered at work and I like my work and usually find it interesting. Unfortunately I still have an increasing mountain of work to get through and not enough hours in the day. Think I'm being punished for having a holiday last week Grin.

BanglesSpangles · 17/09/2014 16:48

I got a letter saying for the 20 week scan I'd need to drink 2 pints of water (how big do they think my bladder is?!) and to prepare to wear a hospital gown or bring a dressing gown if you don't want to wear the hospital one in the waiting room!

Pretty sure they've just sent a ridiculous standard letter out which I intend on moaning about to someone when I get there!!

Memphisbelly · 17/09/2014 16:51

Bangles wow they are in depth! Even when I had an internal scan I just dropped my pants Grin

Memphisbelly · 17/09/2014 17:18

Did the school run with 2 friends one has a newborn and they were talking about the belly button pf baby after the birth, oh my god I nearly fainted.....I am ao squemish and it is something I have never dealt with (I made dh change every nappy until the belly clip fell off last time) it sent me into a blind panic! Isnt it funny how some things don't bother you but other things do

Bangonthedoor · 17/09/2014 17:36

memphis I'm worried about the belly button too! So icky! DD's got infected and needed special cream for it. It stunk Sooo bad, you could smell it through her vest and baby grow at arms length! I kept mistaking it for a full nappy Confused

Memphisbelly · 17/09/2014 17:43

I changed one nappy in the night in hospital but the mw covered it for me and after that dh did every one until it fell off! But I was fine with my stitches and thr birth...I am such a weirdo

Viperama · 17/09/2014 17:59

20 week scan went well Grin

Viperama · 17/09/2014 18:01

Omg I am not going to google new born belly buttons totally freaked out now

JacktheLab · 17/09/2014 18:27

Hello everyone,

I'm back, my hellish time at work is over hurrah and what ever happens tomorrow with the referendum will be, no point worrying about it at the moment!

Glad your scan went well Viper, I have mine on Tuesday.

On the subject of weight gain, I've only put on 3lbs so far, but I'm quite fat, so the less I put on the better really.

I'm with everyone who is finding it hard to be motivated at work, I have a count down of weeks till xmas when I am finishing up!

Have a lovely evening all, hopefully will be more chatty from now on!

freneticfox · 17/09/2014 20:33

Glad your scan went well Viper, mine's next Thurs; can't come quick enough!

Why is it my body seems to sense the MINUTE I type the words 'feeling better'?? Made a lovely meal tonight and five minutes after I'd finished I came over all shaky and nauseated and had to step outside. Managed to keep it down (so far) but still feeling queasy.

Bleh. :(

Bangonthedoor · 17/09/2014 20:38

Sorry to hear that frenetic Thanks

Yay on the scan viper!

jackthelab what time is your scan on Tuesday? Mines not until 3:30pm got a whole day to wait!

Memphisbelly · 17/09/2014 20:52

Oh freneticSadthat really is shit.

My scan is at 9.25 tomorrow I have to drop ds at school then get to pick my step mum up and to the city for a scan in 30 mins..... i need luck and empty roads on my side! Bit nervous in case they were double checking if something is wrong and didn't tell me their concerns. Hoping all will be ok, I have a problem with my heart and feel so blessed ds is fine

Bangonthedoor · 17/09/2014 20:58

Fingers crossed for you memphis everything will be just fine, you'll see!

Memphisbelly · 17/09/2014 21:13

I am hanging on to the fact he is bang on for size for term so to me if something was up with the heart he would surely be smaller

BanglesSpangles · 17/09/2014 21:25

Nooo-frenetic i feel partly responsible for asking if you were ok!

Glad the scan went well, viper- bet there were no hospital gowns involved- my health authority really are mental. I might turn up in my dressing gown just to make a point that they really shouldnt send stupid instructions

Good luck for your scan, memphis. One week and 2 days and counting for me

Grinningcat · 17/09/2014 22:19

Just felt the baby kick properly for the first time! DH was telling me about his day and I had 5 mins of intermittent pokes/kicks all in the same spot. While I had occasional bubbles before, this couldn't have been anything else. What a boost after a really stressful day. Grin

Viperama · 17/09/2014 22:49

Yaay for pokes/kicks Grinning

Def no gowns Bangles!

I am 80% it's a boy. We don't want to know. But I have a little button nose as do all Viper women and DP has a normal nose and tiger has a normal sized nose for sure, spotted it at 12 week and it's still the same. Women in my family are a bit of a mare and DP has the dearest disposition so our lives will be calmer I think!

Viperama · 17/09/2014 22:49

All feeling very real now!
