Wow Bangles so efficient Grin

welcome Star

freneticfox · 16/09/2014 13:49

Welcome Star - we have the same due date; woo! :D

Had to leave a quick shower of praise for bra sizing staff at Mothercare.. I got sized at John Lewis a couple of weeks ago and the cups were rubbing my arm pits... turns out they sized me FOUR cup sizes too large. That's a tiny bit of an over sight!!!

Proper sizing from Mothercare and I now have a couple of bras that are SO comfy I don't think I'll ever remove them.

freneticfox · 16/09/2014 13:50

Bangles just noticed you posted about the Feb 14th due date too! Do you find people reacting oddly to a Valentine's due date?! People keep saying to me 'awww, how romantic!' - Well, if I give birth on Valentine's Day I cannot honestly think of a LESS romantic experience...

PeppermintInfusion · 16/09/2014 14:43

Just discovered this thread- due 24th febSmile

sandulacek · 16/09/2014 15:27

Frenetic 4 sizes bigger? Blimey! I have to agree that Mothercare bra fitting service is excellent. I bought the black and white dotty bras. They let me keep the bra on as it would have been cruel to get back in the old one Blush

Memphisbelly · 16/09/2014 15:53

Welcome more newbies!

Well my baby seems to think he has Irish roots as it seems he has done nothing but the bloody Riverdance on my blader since last night!

I have my arches for my shoes now so hoping I feel ok in a few days! I may also get a chinese tonight then it will feed me for 2 nights (so lazy)

ScummyWithGin · 16/09/2014 16:21

Hello everyone and welcome Star and Peppermint!

Looking forward to checking out the Feb baby thread! My DB is a Feb baby and the only thing my DM hated about it was if she wasn't organised with his birthday present at Christmas time, a lot of shops were still low on stock. Not sure if that's such an issue with internet shopping now though? Other than that I can't think of any downsides and the biggest plus as far as I'm concerned is not having to suffer in the sweltering summer heat whilst heavily pregnant.

I had my amnio last week and it was pretty horrible. I was expecting period cramp type pains and as I normally get these pretty badly was quite prepared, but the pain was much sharper than that. He also needed to take more than normal as the test I needed required more. It was still only 2 minutes though and although I was sore after for a couple of days, didn't have any problems. Mr Scummy was fantastic though, making me go straight to bed and thoroughly spoiling me Grin
Very good news though as I got my results back last night and they're negative!!! It finally feels like I'm properly pregnant and can start telling people and planning things (and go shopping!). DH has no excuses not to start thinking about names now either...

Memphisbelly · 16/09/2014 16:30

Scummy this is amazing news I am so happy for you both! Get shopping!

BanglesSpangles · 16/09/2014 16:31

haha- yep, frenetic, ive had lots of 'aaah, valentines day- thats nice'. Yep, all that blood and screaming is going to be extremely romantic

BanglesSpangles · 16/09/2014 16:39

Aaah scummy that's fantastic news- so pleased for you!- Shout it from the rooftops!

And welcome peppermint- you're on the list- link's further up the thread somewhere

Ticktick · 16/09/2014 18:56

That's great news scummy, you must be thrilled. Time to get excited now :)

thingsarelookingup · 16/09/2014 19:31

That is awesome news scummy. You must be so relieved. Enjoy the name chats!

I also have to agree that it is so nice to have all of you and the live and let live approach is a big part of that. I'm not always great at posting but I read everyday and feel like I'm starting to get to know everybody. I think this thread will just continue to get better as we get closer to feb.

suzimagoozi · 16/09/2014 20:02

I second all of the 'we are awesome' posts. As someone completely isolated from family and close friends this is the nearest thing I have to a sisterhood. It's my ritual to catch up with everyone's day while walking to the station after work. I can see this becoming increasingly dangerous as my centre of gravity shifts and my belly prevents me from seeing obstacles immediately in front of me Blush

Memphisbelly · 16/09/2014 20:25

Suzi people will just move for you Grin

I have heamatologist tomorrow, I have a magazine to take as it is set to be running hours behind and if its not I will be cheesed off as I could have booked in a haircut!

Also just found £30 I didn't know I have so thats a bonus Grin

freneticfox · 16/09/2014 20:28

suzi - Same for me. DH and I moved to a new town a few years ago and as we've both got very busy jobs, we wind up with very little time to socialise so we've not really made a good group of friends here. Family and friends are generally a couple of hours away or more, so pregnancy is particularly lonely!

I really appreciate the time that everyone takes to read and comment on here, really brightens my day :)

(mushy stuff over now, promise :p)

BanglesSpangles · 16/09/2014 20:50

On a less sentimental note, my dh found out he's finished paying off his student loan about three months ago... How can this be?! I only finished uni a year after him and still have about ten grand to go!

Memphisbelly · 16/09/2014 20:57

Bangles does he have a higher wage than you? Doesnt it go on % of what you earn?

BanglesSpangles · 16/09/2014 21:07

Not by much now- i think it didnt help that i did a few years in really really badly paid jobs, but still - the injustice!!

Memphisbelly · 16/09/2014 21:12

You need to get him to but you something every month with the extra money in his wage packet to make it fair Grin

BanglesSpangles · 16/09/2014 21:17

Grin i could come to terms with that

Bangonthedoor · 16/09/2014 21:44

Gosh it's taken me a while to catch up on all the posts but I've enjoyed reading them Smile

DP has just felt baby move for himself which is lovely. It's being so active at the moment Smile

Viperama · 16/09/2014 21:44

Yaay presents!

Memphisbelly · 16/09/2014 22:01

Bangon ah thats great!
Ds felt the baby kick tonight he kicks to loud noises now and ds shouted at me in a strop and I said now you have woke up your brother and made him feel my tummy and said now talk....ds started talking and he did 3 big kicks, he went bed very hsppy as he is too impatient to sit for long enough to feel it normally!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 17/09/2014 06:57
