Hi Ladies thread 3!! 2nd Trimester we are on a roll!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Memphisbelly · 14/09/2014 22:28

Sand last time I used any rich moisure cream that was on offer that week (Dove, Nivea etc) but used a bump oil when I got out the bath/shower but this time my skin has been almost scaly and have bought the Cussions mum and me bump stretch mark cream, it is lovely and sorted out my scales.

Just asked dh about pushchair, he said he moved it to my mums as our loft had damp last winter (not telling mil Grin)

freneticfox · 14/09/2014 22:54

Memphis we went for a Silver Cross 3D Travel System. Mixed reviews but we spent ages fiddling and playing, really liked it :)

Viperama · 15/09/2014 00:08

Hi all! We're leaning towards the stokke xplorey. We live in central London and as majority of pollution settles at ground level we want baby up as high as possible. I've read suspension can be poor though, anyone have experience with this one?

LittleMissSunshine33 · 15/09/2014 07:15

Im thinking of the silver cross too but the surf2 can't wait to go baby shopping!!

This month is going so quick!! I'm glad because work has been awful since going back ofsted are due and the pressure is horrid! Getting so stressed and feeling it in my stomach.
My scan is 1st October does anyone know if they will change the due date again??

OP posts:
Becca1818 · 15/09/2014 07:38

Thanks donkir and Memphis :) I'm reassured it's normal. X

Bangonthedoor · 15/09/2014 07:41

littlemiss I have the 1st silver cross surf and so happy with it, I'm using it again. Never had any problems with it, plus they do loads of cool (unnecessary) add ons to go with it!

Your due date may change, but I think more often than not it stays the same.

littlemiss I know how you feel, our CQC inspection is due in October and all the pressure is very high! Makes me feel sick with worry Hmm

Memphisbelly · 15/09/2014 07:43

Frenetic there are mixed reviews on all pushchairs, I think thr negative ones are mainly people not buying one to suit their needs, it is a pushchair that has been sold (in various forms) for s long time so they must be doing something right Wink

Littlemiss as far as I know they won't change the dates from the 12 week scan they go on measurements of the 12 week one to see how baby is growing in that 8 weeks (our baby is spot on from the 12-20 week scan)

Going docs today going to try snd grt my legs and my itchy boobs sorted before I rip them off

Bimberley · 15/09/2014 08:08

Just catching up!
Oh yes I cannot imagine Christmas without brie!

Re stretchmarks, I only got them on my hips with last two pregnancies. I'm really hoping it stays to just hips this time too.

Busy week this week. DD is starting school Wednesday and then scan Thursday!
We will hopefully be finding out the sex.

We just had new windows fitted this weekend so the whole house got turned upside down! Today will be spent cleaning!

BanglesSpangles · 15/09/2014 08:09

Thanks for the reassurance memphis- will def speak to the mw at my next appointment.

Becca, I can see a little bump still if I lay on my back and I can't sit down in my jeans any more, but to the casual observer I don't think I look too different to normal. 18+2 today though, and I'm sure I read the getting bigger will ramp up after week 20

Yesterday was another trip to another shopping centre - Think we've decided now on an uppababy vista (watch this space! )- tried out my previous top choice, mamas and papas sola city on Saturday with my 18 month old niece in and it handled like a rusty shopping trolley).

I also had a paddy in new look and cried a little bit in h&m because I couldn't find maternity jeans to fit me. Hormonal much?

Memphisbelly · 15/09/2014 08:44

Bangles glad I am not the only one having a paddy! Dh said yesterday that I have really changed and have a shorter fuse so he finds it hard sometimes but he understands it is hormones and I went into a sobbing mess and told him to go to his dads (over reaction much?Grin) last week I said something to him in a snap and snapped straight after 'sorry I am snapping'....while still snapping haha

Got docs at 4.30 with my favourite doctor...... Still hoping he won't want to see my boobs, they look like udders

freneticfox · 15/09/2014 09:59

Felt definite 'bubbles' for the first time this morning, as in unmistakable baby movements and not wind or something else. Didn't want to get out of bed, could have honestly laid there all morning chatting to my little bump! What a feeling. Can't wait for proper kicks and the like.

BanglesSpangles · 15/09/2014 10:30

haha memphis- that's pretty much what i did- my lovely OH was trying to persuade me to try some different cut jeans on in mamas and papas and I told him quite calmly 'im very sorry, but i dont think i can without bursting into tears', before hissing 'so lets go and look at some more fucking pushchairs before i get really fucking angry... gah...... sorry, im being irrational' and stomping off

Turning into a total nutcase!

Frenetic- think we're due at the same time- can't WAIT for a proper kick- come on the proper kicks!

freneticfox · 15/09/2014 11:21

Yes, proper kicks are very welcome about now! The fact I wasn't in my best shape before pregnancy won't help; I could have done with losing a few pounds - apparently women who are quite slender feel things earlier.

Then again my DH would argue that I'm fairly slender and just hating on myself ;)

I've had intermittent headaches over the past few weeks and they seem to come on SO suddenly. I've got a tendency to get tension headaches and they feel exactly like this, but never so frequent!

BanglesSpangles · 15/09/2014 12:53

naaah- im 'fairly slender' and still have only felt the odd pop- nothing more distinctive :)

RebeccaMumsnet · 15/09/2014 13:01

GeekyHybrid · 15/09/2014 13:04

Hi guys, I've been trying to keep up with everyone's posts, just haven't had the energy to contribute! Supposedly this is the week (19) where red blood cell production catches up with the increased blood volume in circulation and thus energy returns. Please!

Having a lieu day because I worked yesterday at Goodwood Revival - we had a publicity stand which involved being on my feet all day, boy did that not agree with me, the soles of my feet were burning all evening. On the plus side, I went to watch one of the races on my lunchtime and the sound / vibration of all those vintage racing cars accelerating past really got sproglet moving. I'm thinking petrol head in the making :-D I watched the whole race and really enjoyed having such a long spell of activity. It's definitely quiet in the mornings though, I don't do mornings and the OH is even worse so not exactly a surprise.

We've got our 20w scan on Friday, so exciting now that we're all in the midst of scans again. And maybe after this one I can relax even more and start buying things. OH is keen to go check out buggies etc. I don't think we'll need clothes, blankets etc.. I've already got two big boxes of stuff friends have given us, and a travel cot! Right, must crack on with trying to get our bedroom decorated - maybe I am getting some energy back ;-/
And sorry for the long post.

kkllww · 15/09/2014 13:48

I'm glad other people have been having hormonal outbursts. I've been so moody and tearful the last week and my poor husband is bearing the brunt of it. :/
I remember loving the bubbles feeling frenetic - I got that in my last pregnancy but this time it went straight to little pokes at 15 weeks. Now I feel a lot of harder pokes - particularly after i've gorged on chocolate (a daily occurance, the baby is going to look like a bar of cadburys at this rate!)
Good luck to everyone having their scans this week...

Memphisbelly · 15/09/2014 14:07

Bangles you sound just like me! Rather than teary I am normally having little rants, dh will be glad to not be here this week I reckon.

Frenetic my friend is tiny (size 6) and never felt even a pop until 24 weeks Shock

Geeky ds was like this I passed my bike test while pg (didn't realise I was pg) and our house was where dh's biker friends met up before their 2x a week ride out and he would go crazy when he heard the noise, as a baby I used to sit on the bike with it revving if he was unsettled and it would calm him!

Well ladies I have a birth story for you. My friend was booked for c section today as she had a horror or a time with her first and yesterday started contracting.... from first twinge to baby being here.....3 hours ShockGrin I am so proud of her and happy.

The baby is also a quiet one in the morning he doesn't start dancing until he has a belly of food Grin

freneticfox · 15/09/2014 14:14

I know what I meant to ask people in here; does anyone have a blog (pregnancy/parenting or otherwise?)

Memphisbelly · 15/09/2014 15:45

Frenetic no blogging from me!

Anyone else had their flu vaccine reminder? I just had a text to remind me I am now in the window to have it

donkir · 15/09/2014 15:57

Ooo Memphis I was wondering what happens with regards to flu jab. Didn't know if we had to book ourselves in but wasn't sure when.

freneticfox · 15/09/2014 15:58

donkir my midwife said to ask about flu jab clinics at reception in the GP; but I forgot. But DH got a reminder in the post (he's asthmatic) so I'll just go along with him I think!

Memphisbelly · 15/09/2014 16:00

I was told to book an appointment then got the reminder. Will book it when I go docs shortly

BanglesSpangles · 15/09/2014 16:15

:O 3 hours! Oh well, I can but dream!

Frenetic- i have a blog, but Im uncharacteristically coy about it (mainly because its a place where I self-indulgently witter on about my unexciting life... and babies now- i don't expect it to be of particular interest to the world at large, so i don't advertise its existence!)

If I'm feeling brave later, I'll post a link up

Is anyone else a closet blogger?

Flu jab-wise, I've never had one, so not planning on it

Memphisbelly · 15/09/2014 17:38

Bangles I am clinging on to her birth story for dear life....l need her birth!

So went doctors and he said I have planter facitis (however it is spelt) no pain relief apart from gel I can rub on until 3rd trimester and need to get arches and decent shoes....He has banned me from converse Confused flip flops and ballet pumps...I literally have no other shoes...dh is laughing as I own loads of converse!
