OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LittleMissSunshine33 · 10/09/2014 06:57

Donkir I love my dream genii I usually sleep on my front so with it between my legs it stops me rolling over and can be used as a nursing pillow after!

Memphis I have heard this about the pattern which a baby wakes in you is the same when they are out...touchwood mine is awake most of the day and asleep at night Grin

Littlemiss it must be true about sleep patterns because ds kept his pattern but im unsure if it will set from this esrly on.....I can cope sithh 11 then 4 though if it is Grin

Scummy hoping your test is ok today let us know how you get on. I think we are so lucky here to have the nhs and also son't understand why people moan about it (but then I see a lot of specialists)

BanglesSpangles · 10/09/2014 08:06

Morning all
Good luck for today scummy

I'm hoping the 'feeling movement corresponding with waking time' thing is true because my bubbles have all been in the day time... Unless I'm just to heavy a sleeper to notice nighttime ones!

No special pillow arrangements for me just yet- I'm pretty good at side sleeping and convinced that my 'bump' is mainly wind and pies anyway at the mo

sandulacek · 10/09/2014 08:35

Morning!
I got a pillow similar to the dream genii but from jojo maman bebe. I went for the multi purpose - sleep support, nursing pillow and you can zip it up like a coil and the baby can lie on it. Still getting used to it but only use it when I sleep on my left side...weird.

Good luck memphis and scummy.

I'm not a cat person at all but is there any risk catching anything when I go to see my friend in few weeks time who has cats at home? There's no chance of me touching them though...

freneticfox · 10/09/2014 11:59

Good luck Memphis!

I had my first comment on size today.. upon hearing I was coming up on 18 weeks a colleague said "You don't look pregnant at all!"

So of course I'm now extremely paranoid.

hanflan · 10/09/2014 12:03

Oh frenetic believe me it's just as annoying the other way round! I'm getting a lot of "oooh are you sure you're only insert weeks here?!", and "are you sure it's not twins?". Yes I'm bloody sure, I just have a big bump okay? ARRGHHH!

freneticfox · 10/09/2014 12:33

I guess I'm going to get that for the next few months, eh? I might just start telling people I'm not pregnant, then burst into tears, and then ask directions to Slimming World.

Not that I'm antisocial or anything.

hanflan · 10/09/2014 12:46

HAHA I would love to see the look on their faces if you did that :D

babysquidge123 · 10/09/2014 14:35

Haha frenetic, that really made me laugh today! People always have an opinion... my MIL said it must be a girl because I wasn't showing by 9 weeks!

I had my 16 week appointment this morning and got to hear baby's heartbeat, it was so nice to hear :)

kkllww · 10/09/2014 15:17

Haha frenetic! I had an annoying salesman come to the door yesterday who wouldn't go away. He gestured to my bump and said "Oh, you expecting? You're, what, about 6 months?" which irritated me so I said, po-faced, "No, i'm not pregnant." Watched his face drop and turn bright red. I relented after a couple of seconds and told him I was pregnant and was just kidding...heehee!

Memphisbelly · 10/09/2014 16:47

I got a bump early on and its just filled out but not got bigger in inches so had lots of ugh are you sure there is nothing wrong? Shock

Scan today shows he is defo a 'he' and perfect size, was wiggling his willy in front of camera and scratching his bottom, he either pushed his lips up to the scanner or his willy and wouldn't let her see much else! We were sent to buy chocolate and skip down hall to get him to move with no luck so got another scan next week to do checks on his heart

freneticfox · 10/09/2014 16:51

Aw, Memphis, least you get to see him again soon!

I have my 16w midwife appointment on Friday (when I'll actually be 18w), so I plan on asking about bump size. I've heard the heartbeat a few times on the doppler, but hoping to hear it with midwife so she can say all sounds well.

Went up to six-hour days today, it felt nice to be staying in work after lunch, but whew... tired.

Memphisbelly · 10/09/2014 17:13

The odd thing was watching him on the screen as I felt him moving about I thought most of the feelings were feet but suprised to see lots of pushing and hand jabs Grin I kept saying 'I can feel that!' I don't know why but it suprised me to see on screen what I could feel Grin i was also shocked that she told me everything saying this is the diapram, placenta, skin on back and neck, lips, bones in legs, kidneys, stomach. Etc. they didn't tell me anything on the 20 week one with ds

Memphisbelly · 10/09/2014 17:52

Baby memphis....so big now he doesnt all fit on pic

thingsarelookingup · 10/09/2014 20:50

Aw that scan sounds lovely Memphis.

Love your line kk. I've wanted to do that to someone but have found the right moment yet :-).

I use a dream genii pillow. I remember finding it really comfortable last time. This time it isn't really that much more comfortable but it does stop me rolling fully on to my back (I let myself sleep just on the angle provided by lying on the pillow, I've never felt dizzy or light headed so I'm assuming it's OK).

I hope everything went well scummy.

suzimagoozi · 10/09/2014 20:51

Sounds like a lovely scan Memphis and the extra chance to see your little boy can't be a bad thing!

I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow afternoon and am so nervous about my small bump and complete lack of any movement that I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst. I'm desperate for some reassurance that the whole thing hasn't just been imagined. Anyone else feeling this way? Sad

Memphisbelly · 10/09/2014 20:54

Suzi I am lots smaller than before and she said it isn't the size of the bump that matrers as they can sit very far back, also babies that sit further back usually mean you get less feel of the kicks.
I cannot remember if it is your first but I didn't feel the type of movements I do this time first time round.

jenmcspen · 10/09/2014 21:10

Suzi, we are scan twinnies tomorrow Grin
I am pretty nervous too Confused thankfully it is at 11am so not too long to think about it tomorrow morning!
I am having my first and have barely any bump either. Have felt some movement, but my midwife said some ppl don't feel things until as late as week 24 so try not to worry too much.

freneticfox · 10/09/2014 21:10

What a great pic Memphis, can't fluppin' wait for 25th Sept!

Suzi, I'm nearly 18 weeks and got told today my bump is tiny. Apart from one incident and a couple of bubbles... I've not really felt anything, which is disappointing but a lot of websites say 24 weeks is often the first time people feel things!

blankfornames · 10/09/2014 22:44

Great to hear lovely happy scan stories!
Ladies, I think I got a taste of the glow for the first time today! I'm 17wks 2moro, and despite not sleeping for the past week, I managed 7 hours straight last night. I skipped into work & was full of life with my class! Even now, it's late & I'm not exhausted! Most amount of energy today than I've had all pregnancy!
In saying that, I'm sure I've just jinxed myself! Although I still am pale, I'm energised. Anyone else feel good...and did it last long!!

Memphisbelly · 10/09/2014 23:01

Blank I have started feeling better the past 48 hours, eating really well now (had to come to bed I ate that much tonight) inhaled a turkish delight at the hospital and got emotional about enjoying it Grin
I think that may be a dim glow? Ds is at mums tonight so hoping some sleep and a cuppa alone in morning before work will make me feel good!

suzimagoozi · 11/09/2014 06:46

Good luck for this morning jen I had a weirdly reassuring dream last night that I went to hospital and the midwives adjusted my back and I could then feel all sorts of movements in my belly. Dream me burst into tears and real me will probably do the same if the news is good this afternoon!

DH may have to stop referring to Little One as 'he'. That will be interesting for him Wink

Memphisbelly · 11/09/2014 07:09

Good luck to the scan goers today ( suzi I cried at the babies little feet and legs no idea why BlushGrin)

I was up at. 4 and struggled to grt back off amd now shattered!

Bimberley · 11/09/2014 07:55

So much to catch up on!
I think I may have missed a page so I apologise.
Memphis what a lovely scan! Its amazing how much bigger babies are at the 20 week scan.

I'm 20 weeks today. Scan is next thursday. Time is dragging!

Baby must have been sat right down low all night. Kept me up all night.
Couldn't turn over without feeling as though my pelvis would snap!
Baby has shifted this morning though.

Sleeping patterns have changed. Baby is awake more during the day now. Will get kicks most of the day.
Definitely not as many during the night! Would be lovely if it stays that way.

Have started buying. We have sleep suits, vests, hats and mittens.

Getting baby a set on drawers this weekend and changing table.

Is everyone feeling better now, sickness wise?

Frenetic, I had such a small bump with my first everybody used to ask if I just needed a good poo!
Completely used to frustrate me, so I'm with you there.

blankfornames · 11/09/2014 08:33

Memphis, sorry to hear you had another bad sleep. But fantastic that you've had a little insight to this mythical 'glow'!! Slept all night. I went to yoga so I wonder if that yet made a difference.

Good luck with all the scans!
