Happy Sunday everyone

Just checking in as haven't been in new thread. We're just looking at a weekend away in Nov, but have only just thought about how enormous I'll be after reading lots of you are getting that done now!

First week back at work after 2 weeks off this week so lots of sleep needed this weekend! Partner out at a gig tonight so planning a stack of rubbish telly, hurrah. Still a bit sick if I eat anything too sweet, after pregnacare and when I need to eat but nowhere near as bad as it was. Am also on gaviscon a fair bit now.

I remember being totally offended by certain smells before - with DD it was rice cooking, this time it's men's hair! Weird!

Hazzer I am due on 27th of Jan and we are booked to go Disneyland Paris in Dec! We are driving there and then will be walking around the parks everyday I keep having moments of oh shit what have I done! i will be massive, it will be cold...but on the plus point if I give birth the French hospitals are suppost to be nice Grin

Frenetic, hope you get lots done today, I have sorted all ds's wardobe taking out clothes that don't fit and making space for his uniform. My plan for this week is the empty my wardrobe of stuff that doesn't fit me until new year

HerRoyalNotness · 07/09/2014 13:13

Glad to hear everyone is on the mend a bit.

We booked a trip to ny before I knew I was pregnant for Xmas, will be 7.5mths. Not sure if I will cope actually. Took DS1 to tennis lesson in the morning and all I had to do was sit in the hot sun, but ended up faling asleep on the couch for an hour afterwards. Bored in the afternoon and started sorting out the boxes in the nursery, had awful belly pains and slight spotting. I think I can't do anything strenuous at all, which will make for a long 5mths. Have been on the couch loads as it is and I'm so bored. DH is in Oz for work this week so don't even have him to distract me.

Has anyone thought about warm clothes for winter? We don't get much of one here in Texas, but I'll need something for NYC. I don't really want to buy a maternity coat for 10 days of use, already have to get the DSs some, so was thinking just to wear a normal size coat open, but what else can I wear to keep bump a bit warm? Also need some sturdy ankle boots for walking around in with good grip that are a bit stylish, any ideas? Prefer lace up to be able to get them on.

I've been thinking maybe we should cancel the trip as we could do with the money tbh for other things or saving for mat leave, but DH really wants to go and if we don't do it now, we'll probably move before we get the chance again.

Viperama · 07/09/2014 13:22

Royal my mil recently lost a ton of weight and still has a cream wool hooded Burberry coat she's lending me. I was hoping she'd save something. It seems such a waste to buy something I'll never use again. So I've been lucky. Maybe go to a charity shop (that was my plan b).
Going to seraphine this afternoon to hopefully buy some decent work trousers, I bought dome primark ones but they are so cheaply made all the joins and fabric make my reptilian (dry) skin itch!
Been covering myself in oil after morning shower daily for a month, amazing how quickly it absorbs!

HerRoyalNotness · 07/09/2014 13:32

Good idea, I'll check out the goodwill. Good of your MIL to have a loaner coat and Burberry no less!

I bought work trousers from H&M but they're more like a coated jean type thing. Also got some skinny cords from GAP but they'll be too tight in the leg and uncomfy, will return and try their straight leg instead.

Memphisbelly · 07/09/2014 15:50

Herroyal because I work outdoors I think I will need to buy a coat that I can do up but will get a mans not a maternity, I think for shopping/school run etc I will use my existing coat and either move buttons across or wear a big scarf to keep exposed part warm.

Regarding boots for NYC think about lace ups, by 7.5 months last time I couldn't put socks on so lace up shoes would have been a total no no.

Im totally wiped out this afternoon, dh is going out on his bike so I may put a film on for ds and snooze

HerRoyalNotness · 07/09/2014 17:25

Mmm true about the boots, couldn't do pullons either. Was toying with uggs, but not sure they'd be much good especially if it snows. I have some winter snow boots from our time in Canada but they're not the kind to wear into a restaurant or museum, but maybe it's okay in snowy places, I know in Canada it was just a matter of being warm and everyone dealt with the slush coming in on the boots

Bangonthedoor · 07/09/2014 18:44

Oh god...the balloon feet, I'm dreading that so much! Mine started about 7.5 months too memphis so uncomfortable!

I think I'm going to get uggs and wear my extra wide wellies, I keep these as spare and normally quite big for me.

Hope you managed to have a snooze this afternoon memphis

frenetic it so won't be long until you feel baby, you'll feel something before you know it Smile and then when we're 8/9 months pregnant we'll be saying "please stop moving and let me sleep!" Grin

I've ordered loads of maternity gear from new look (spent far too much) which should be arriving tomorrow. Some of it's really pretty so I hope it fits ok/flatters me. I'm on the look out for a pair of over bump jeggings, completely impossible to find! Next do a pair but are out of stock in my size for 6 weeks Hmm all else I can find are either under bump or over bump navy leggings. Although I'm a size 14 my legs are stupidly thin and I have no arse so they have to be tight as oppose to skinny jeans which are just too baggy. The skinny jeans can come out when my legs turn into tree trunks!

donkir · 07/09/2014 19:00

Bang have you tried H&M I got some treggings (over bump) from there not sure if they have jeggings though.

thingsarelookingup · 07/09/2014 20:56

Well I've managed my first week back at work after the lovely summer holidays (teacher here). It's proving to be tiring but so far I'm enjoying this year. I started at a new school last year and hated it but have managed to carve out a much better spot for myself this year so lets see how long it lasts this good.

I can't compete with the heavily pregnant holidays lots of you have ahead of you but we are moving to the other side of the world with a newborn. I think it's going to be a pretty rough couple of months but I figure it will be worth it when we are living it up in the sunshine.

I've also already started wearing maternity clothes. I can still fit in to most of my normal clothes but its just so much comfier in maternity so I've converted already.

Memphisbelly · 07/09/2014 21:01

Bangon yes I had a snooze but felt rotten for it. I need some longer tops my tops are riding up so I walk holding my top over my lily white belly.
Thingsare are you all set for the ,ove? How soon after will you move?

freneticfox · 07/09/2014 21:02

I've been wearing maternity trousers and a size bigger in leggings for a few weeks now.. mainly because I've been really bloated and anything remotely tight on my middle makes me feel pretty grim!

Had an awful headache all day, nothing is shifting it :(

thingsarelookingup · 07/09/2014 21:50

I hope sleep tonight sorts the headache out frenetic. You've not had an easy ride so far.

Memphis we are a long way from sorted for the move mainly because there is not actually that much you can do this far out. We are as organised as we can be and know what needs doing when but for now it is a waiting game. We will be moving when LO is about 2 months.

I'm glad so many others are thinking maternity wear already. I feel like a bit of a fraud because my bump is not particularly big yet but it gets really uncomfortable regularly. I don't remember this from last time and I don't think I wore maternity clothes for ages.

Memphisbelly · 07/09/2014 22:01

I have been in maternity clothes since 6 weeks because low in my groin any restriction hurt, my waist had grown 11 inches in 10 weeks but hasn't got bigger since but it is now filling out at the top. Cannot wait for my scan on weds, I know I have had a gender scan but am still convinced it is wrong and will be a girl, not sure if it is because I didn't see the bits for myself or because I want a boy so badly I can't believe my luck?

Frenetic hope your headache goes, I use one of those 4head sticks on my temples and that really helps me relax my head. Would a bit of sugar help?

sandulacek · 07/09/2014 22:04

I bought 2 pairs of maternity jeans from H&M yesterday. They are so comfy! Plus they were buy one get 2nd half price.

BanglesSpangles · 08/09/2014 07:45

Morning all

Spent most of yesterday evening compiling a list of buggies- currently decision making is based on price and size (sensible) and availability of colour we like (not quite so) rather than anything like whether i'll be able to fold the bloody thing up, if i can get round corners without crashing into stuff- i may need to steal a baby and try some out properly.

And the maternity tights hunt continues- h&m have a weird seam that goes right under the mini-bump and just feels like its permanently twisted;m&s- fit lovely in the bumpal region, massive on the waist. Oh well!

Bimberley · 08/09/2014 08:13

Have a good day everyone.
Will catch up later

Bangonthedoor · 08/09/2014 08:14

Good luck for your scan on Wednesday memphis have you got an early one? My 20 week (when it comes) is at 3:30pm so I've got aaallllll day to wait. I'm still not going to find out but we did the ring test yesterday and it said boy. I think those of you who are finding out should do the odd old wives tale test and see if it's true?! I'm going to give the urine test a go later to see if it matches up with the ring test! Ridiculous I know but I enjoy the fun so much!

sandulacek · 08/09/2014 08:45

Bangles I bought tights from Jojo maman bebe. 2pack for £8, no weird seams but my legs look like a ghost! It's meant to be natural colour...hmmm don't think so. I was rushing out so just grabbed a pair of my normal tights. Will I change at work? Lol

Memphisbelly · 08/09/2014 09:20

Bangon will do ring test later and let you know, no not an early scan I am not 20 weeks gone! Eek time is ticking!

hanflan · 08/09/2014 09:55

Morning all! Having a very sick morning. Sick on the train again but at least managed to get to a loo this time haha. It is definitely getting a lot less frequent though and I am mostly feeling fine so that's a positive!

Loving all the movement chat. Does anyone know if it is possible to skip the flutters/pops and go straight to rolling feelings? I haven't felt any flutters or pops at all but a couple of times I have felt a strange sensation almost like my tummy turning around, in a sort of swish/rolling motion!
I keep telling myself it can't be baby as I haven't been feeling any of those classic first movements. I'm 17+4.

BanglesSpangles · 08/09/2014 10:26

sand as a posessor of ridiculously pasty skin, that might be just what i need- I shall add them to my test list!

Han boo to the continuing sickness, but glad you're feeling positive! I'm 17+2 and felt 2 pops on sunday that couldn't have been digestion, but apart from that nothing!

I'm now pretty convinced there is no 'normal' and everyone's body (and baby) behaves differently so i reckon you could definitely have just skipped the flutters!

babysquidge123 · 08/09/2014 11:23

Hi everyone! Can I join? I'm new to here and am 16weeks 3days (due 20th Feb) with our first baby! We went for a 3D groupon scan yesterday and found out it's a little boy! Just thought I'd say hi as I've never posted before : )

hanflan · 08/09/2014 11:32

Welcome! Oh that's so exciting, congrats on your little boy. How was the scan? Did he look really baby-like at 16 weeks?!

babysquidge123 · 08/09/2014 11:44

Thank you! The scan was really good. It was in a little place that kind of looked like a nail salon on the outside so we were a bit confused but the sonographer was lovely.

He looked like a baby but really skinny! I'll see if I can upload a pic. We got 6 printed and a USB with 29 photos on, definitely worth the £49!
