Hi Ladies thread 3!! 2nd Trimester we are on a roll!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BanglesSpangles · 03/09/2014 20:49

Suzi/sand- where do you get the badges from? Didnt think i wanted on until today- delays all over the shop and the tubes were more packed than normal- just couldnt face standing up so waited fricking ages for a less dull carriage

Also feeling unaccountably jealous of all the ladies that have got to hear a heartbeat at the 16 week appointment- major resentment towards my stupid london health authority

Memphisbelly · 03/09/2014 21:00

Bangles I didn't hear mine either so you are not alone

freneticfox · 03/09/2014 21:01

I don't have my 16w appointment until next Friday... when I'll actually be 18w...

BanglesSpangles · 03/09/2014 21:09

:) thanks memphis!

Just had 'the talk' again with OH about paternity leave- cant believe he's being such a chauvanistic douche about it- have reached a compromise in that he will ask work for two months off but only because 'I want him to' and not because he's in agreement that he should

Memphisbelly · 03/09/2014 21:35

Bangles I just asked dh if he would have a few months paternity (just chatting It wouldn't happen as I am working as soon as I can) and he said no way! Questioned why and he said he didn't know why as he knows looking after the baby he will be fine with its the house and cooking he wouldn't manage. To be fair he is a rubbish cook and doesn't see mess!

suzimagoozi · 03/09/2014 21:41

Bangles my DH ordered it online for me. First thing he bought** for the little one Grin He says he just Googled 'Baby on Board badge' and found it that way.

**They're actually free but he gets points for the thought/effort!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 03/09/2014 22:13

I'm sorry ladies but I got the sentence today "wow look at you your glowing" although translated she clearly wanted to say OMG your huge!! There's no way I will make it past Christmas at work if I keep growing like I am!! Shock

OP posts:
Memphisbelly · 03/09/2014 23:14

Littlemiss Grin I also got 'wow your skin looks all glowy...pregnancy suits you' but what this translates as is the hill up to the school is huge and I was puffing and panting all the way up it hense the glowy red face Grin

sandulacek · 04/09/2014 06:49

Bangles as Suzi said either google it or you can go to any tube station and they should give it to you. Just need to give them your address and name. I ordered mine only to find out that DH ordered one too and also went to Liverpool Street to get one. Oops have spare ones now Grin .

Still fingers crossed for SE London health authority and hearing LO heartbeat on Tuesday. Planning to ask for it if my MW doesn't do it.

BanglesSpangles · 04/09/2014 08:12

Thanks sand and suzi

Memphis- men are such strange creatures, aren't they- that's pretty much what my oh said- he'd never expected that he'd have to consider it before and thus had 'no' as a default reaction. He reflected this morning that he'd worry about what having 2 months out of the office would do for his career. Pointed out that I'd be having 7 months out and I think he's beginning to see my point. Phew!

Little miss, both my in laws at separate points on Sunday told me I was 'blooming'. Which of course means fat. Thanks in laws!

jenmcspen · 04/09/2014 08:25

Went to look at prams yesterday with OH and he has decided that the one he thinks we should get is the most expensive one we looked at - eeek!!!!
Not sure what he plans on us paying for it with!
And this is only a couple of weeks after telling me 'something cheap and cheerful will be fine!' Men!
Can I ask all of you who already have a Dc what you went for pram-wise and if they were any good?

bellaboo88 · 04/09/2014 08:42

I had my 16w appointment too, was super nervous in case they didn't offer heartbeat, I really feel for u that weren't offered :-(

Mine doesn't do it as standard because of risks of not hearing it/no re-scans but still did & let me record it....bubba kicked the Doppler though! I felt it, so its not just me imagining kicks, they're real! X

Memphisbelly · 04/09/2014 09:02

jenmc what was it he liked? we have an icandy apple we love it.

jenmcspen · 04/09/2014 09:12

The bugaboo cameleon I think.

Memphisbelly · 04/09/2014 09:15

my friend raves about it I found it a but rickity. I only know one person with one though

Grinningcat · 04/09/2014 09:47

Online I liked the look of the icandy rasberry, but we haven't been to physically look at any yet.

Memphisbelly · 04/09/2014 09:59

thing to bear in mind some brands like icandy and bugaboo can have stock issues I waited 5 months fir mine my friend waited that long for the new silver cross surf. newer models can have a waiting list

hanflan · 04/09/2014 10:35

I have my 16wk appointment this afternoon! Really hoping we get to hear the heartbeat. Will be gutted if we don't. My midwife is really lovely and it's not a busy clinic, so I might ask her anyway just in case :)

I've been slacking on this thread recently! My sister was visiting from Texas though so I have an excuse haha. Sickness has pretty much almost gone now, I have found that I am generally ok as long as I don't attempt to eat anything before 11am! Bump is getting huge, sleeping with a full body pillow now and it's heavenly haha.

Hope you are all well!

hanflan · 04/09/2014 10:37

Oh and in terms of prams, I think we are going for the Uppababy Cruz! Was going to go for the Vista, which I ADORE but it doesn't fit down the aisle of London buses which would be a huge problem for me. The Cruz is very similar but narrower. The carrycot only comes in black though which is a big shame, the Vista has such gorgeous colours!

donkir · 04/09/2014 11:52

My ds is 12 so the pram I had for him was a graco as was all we could afford. This time I want a carrycot. We've decided on the cosatto giggle just need to wait for 20 week scan to find out sex and then can pick a colour. I use a quinny buzz at work and I hate it. It's so big and bulky and struggling to fold it at the moment as I need to push it down with belly and hold buttons in.

BanglesSpangles · 04/09/2014 11:54

jenI would very much like a cameleon, costs a fortune though! Weirdly, han was looking at uppababys today- saw a pic of someone's baby on Facebook and zoomed in on the pic til I could work out what she was sitting in!

Bimberley · 04/09/2014 13:38

Think this baby has turned and gone towards my back! Bump has gone softer and feeling less kicks.
Almost feels as though baby is kicking my organs now haha!

freneticfox · 04/09/2014 14:35

Ah, all this talk of prams and kicks; makes me realise how far we've come already!

Will be having a wander round the huge Kiddicare up here in a couple of weeks when my Mum visits, she's insisting on getting our pram so we'll see what's available/what suits us. As far as names of prams goes.. I've not a clue.

I can't wait to feel baby move, I'm 16+5, so I might have a little while to go before I'm feeling proper movement. Having some sharp pains in my groin today that come and go in mere seconds, sounds like round ligament pain, but wondering if I should mention it to my midwife at my appointment next week anyway?

So tired today, I'm working from home and the temptation to nap is almost overwhelming.

Memphisbelly · 04/09/2014 14:43

frenetic all the kiddicares are closing this week except peterborough....i work 5 mins from there it is huuuuge

freneticfox · 04/09/2014 14:50

I live AND work a few mins from Kiddicare in Peterborough; are we local?!
