OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Memphisbelly · 03/09/2014 10:14

Eeek I just had a bath and you could SEE the kicks! Shock My belly was going crazy!

JacktheLab · 03/09/2014 10:31

Not much action going on here, I've gone right off all marital relations, although I did jump dh a couple of weeks ago! He's sworn off missionary though, I think the baby kicking him would turn him celebrate for the rest of the year Wink

I always sleep on my right hand side, but I'm managing to remember to turn to my left, always end up waking on my back though!

15 weeks left at work till I finish for mat leave Grin

L1ttleMissGiggles · 03/09/2014 10:49

Morning!!
Had 16 week midwife app yesterday, all is well and I got to hear the heartbeat loud and clear. Now just to wait for the 20 week scan at the end of the month and some movements from bubba. Always waiting for something!

On the subject of sleep, I have always slept on right hand side and finding it hard sleeping on the left now, always start off ok but end up on either my back of right hand side when I wake up. Do I need to be trying harder to stay on my left? ie pillows and wedging myself in place? xx

Memphisbelly · 03/09/2014 11:38

L1ttlemissgiggles don't worry lying on your back as baby gets heavier can make you faint and light headed as it suppresses an artery but your body will naturally want to roll over in your sleep if it happens, left hand side lying increases blood flow to baby but isn't essential, when im labour they will sometimes ask you to lie on your right hand side if mpbaby is getting tired etc.

donkir · 03/09/2014 11:46

I'm also one for sleeping on my right side but since being pregnant I keep waking upon my back with arms above my head. Get numb arms and a numb bum. Also keep waking with banging head and feeling sick. I'm sure it's linked somehow.

Memphisbelly · 03/09/2014 12:13

Donkir that must be why you are waking up then, I was always told that you will wake up if you feel funny with it

freneticfox · 03/09/2014 12:26

Oooh, I'm starting to count down the hours and minutes until I can go on mat leave. My being signed off caused people to stress at me. My being PREGNANT caused people to stress at me (someone in my office has been TTC for ages). And I'm SO chuffin' fed up of the unprofessional attitude towards me, just because I'm expecting. It's all sly, cloak and dagger as well... nothing I can really record and talk to HR about. It's SO frustrating because all I've ever done is work my backside off for this company, and I know I'm a good colleague.

Such a shame that my pregnancy has caused some people to turn into what I can only describe as high school meanies.

Bangonthedoor · 03/09/2014 12:33

So things aren't any better frenetic? That's so rubbish for you. Do you think you'll consider going for a new job following your mat leave?

I actually cannot wait until my mat leave starts! Counting down the days Grin

BanglesSpangles · 03/09/2014 12:33

:( they all sound like a load of massive pricks, frenetic

I really need a wee but the closest toilet on my floor is out of order and the next one is miles away. First world problems or what

Grinningcat · 03/09/2014 12:56

I think I've made a mistake in eating most of my lunch already because I was so hungry this morning. Only have grapes, tomatoes and a small piece to cheese to get me through until 5:30 Sad. Might need to pack more in future to stop me heading for the biscuit tin. There's another first world problem for you.

freneticfox · 03/09/2014 13:03

Bang, I'm definitely considering my options. DH works about two hours away (he commutes) and his work have been incredible. He's been there for a long time and his team have allowed him to work from home when I've had really bad days and they've been wonderful at supporting both him and me. Ideally I'd like to work closer to his offices, so we can eventually move that way (it'll also be closer to family).

I was thinking of starting mat leave at Xmas, when I'll be 33-34 weeks but I don't know many others that have started so early... I'm just desperate to get out ASAP. I used to get invited to the lunches, included in things, but no more. It's really hard, because I thought I was well respected.

hanflan · 03/09/2014 13:58

frenetic I know a couple of people who went on mat leave quite early (both before xmas actually!) and they were very grateful for it. They felt so much calmer at having more time to prepare for baby, rest properly, and also to enjoy xmas a lot more! If work is causing you this much stress then I would definitely go earlier rather than later :)

Memphisbelly · 03/09/2014 15:50

Frenetic I can think of a better word to call them than meanies. If I was you I would go on mat leave as early as possible and then as soon as you feel up to going back start looking for a new job where they won't bully you.

Bangonthedoor · 03/09/2014 15:57

I'm waiting for a quote from a cleaner Blush I just don't have the energy to clean at all these days, we might as well live in a field! Even if it's just for a little while...Grin

HerRoyalNotness · 03/09/2014 17:31

hi ticktick Welcome to Texas!

Tbh I haven't looked around much. I did get some bargains from H&M and GAP, they'd be my first port of call. Not sure how big the city is you're in, but you should definitely find a GAP, and H&M are getting into more places. There is another place called Destination Maternity, the can be pricey but have stuff on sale there right now, and they may give you a free goodie bag. If you're in one place long enough you can get a nursing cover, pillow and a few other bits for the cost of shipping :)

freneticfox · 03/09/2014 17:56

Oh hey, the second trimester has a present for me... Constipation!

I'm seriously tempted to hunt down the glow fairy and cut the bitch.

HerRoyalNotness · 03/09/2014 18:07

oh fox isn't it wonderful!? Previously I was going twice a day, easily (I think it was the prenatal vitamins), now down to rabbit droppings.... le sigh

suzimagoozi · 03/09/2014 18:25

I've had uncontrollable gas that slips out at the most inopportune moment (such as right in someone's face on a peak hour train) Blush

Can't wait to be able to wear my ' Baby on Board' TFL badge without fear of strange looks over the lack of belly!

Bimberley · 03/09/2014 18:29

Frenetic I am also suffering constipation! I can't go for days and then when I do, it really hurts!

Memphis I am too just starting to see movements from the outside :)
Can't wait for the big rolling movements, where you can see feet amd hands move along bump.

Memphisbelly · 03/09/2014 18:36

Frenetic Grin I dream of the day constipation hits 19 weeks of the trots is pissing me off (remind me I said that when I am crying about wanting to poo)

Bimberley towards the end the bump moving really freaked me out last time, I remember shouting argh cover it up cover it up to dh as he stared in wonder Grin

I have lovingly made a curry tonight it smells amazing, ds is at mums tonight lets watch how I have one mouth and give up on it

sandulacek · 03/09/2014 18:45

Suzi I started wearing my badge this week but not feeling that comfortable as only showing bit but still covering for work as not everyone knows...I have my 16 wk appt on Tuesday so will probably stop hiding it then.

bellaboo88 · 03/09/2014 18:51

Fox, my bezzie started ml at 30weeks for similar reasons...I'm thinking Xmas too.

Had my 16wk appointment, heard (&recorded) heartbeat & bubba give the dopler a good thump! Ive felt little movements for ages but didn't believe they were real so early :-) x

GeekyHybrid · 03/09/2014 18:52

Had my 16w appointment today and got to hear the heartbeart so feeling very reassured. And sproglet is still moving about loads so also good. 20w scan on the 19th so maybe I'll start relaxing about this whole malarkey!

On the subject of constipation, I've had it from the beginning. I was taking a swig of lactulose twice a day at one stage but seem to be getting by on just a swig in the morning at the mo. Probably best to check with your midwife / GP frenetic and royal but mine says lactulose is fine as do my pharmacist friends. It's in the routine now along with the multi-vits!

In-laws just popped around with first cuddly toy for sproglet, it's actually from OH's aunt but I'm like blimey - where are we going to start putting stuff. Haven't finished decorating our room yet let alone started on one for sproglet. Best get moving I suspect.

Oh, and frenetic - I'm planning to finish at Christmas, what with holidays to use up I should still only be starting my maternity at 36w. And there isn't anything stopping you changing jobs now. My mate who is due Dec 21st started a new job 1st Sep, it just means she collects her maternity pay direct from the government rather than through PAYE. Your colleagues sound like a right load of *&%$£'s!!! Do whatever is best for you, and be kind to yourself. Take care.

GeekyHybrid · 03/09/2014 19:05

PS - another revision to EDD, one on the front of my paperwork is not the one they came up with at the dating scan. So revised the spreadsheet again :-D

freneticfox · 03/09/2014 19:20

Thank you all for the kind words RE: work... I appreciate that my pregnancy has affected some people negatively for whatever reason, but I'd REALLY appreciate it more if it didn't affect work.

So I made a prune juice and apple smoothie earlier for a natural fibre boost and my GOD do I feel sick now.

I'm starting to think stock images of glowing pregnant women are lies.
