Hey ladies and welcome easterrobin , rose and joosie

Thanks for reminding me about kegels x

KateTheHuman · 17/08/2014 09:55

Urgh he's back.

KateTheHuman · 17/08/2014 10:00

We're having the kitchen fitted at the moment and there's a bit he's not happy with. So fitter was over this morning so I asked about the problem. Apparently it's wonky due to our wonky wall. Told hubby that's what they said and he went mental about how rubbish they were and why couldn't they do this or that. The fitter was still here at this point but instead of mentioning suggestions to fitter he had a strop and drove off without saying anything. Hoped he'd stay out so I could get some peace but he's back. Sometimes I wonder which one of us is having the baby haha. ??

sunshineandbiscuits · 17/08/2014 10:13

Morning everyone.

Feeling a bit grumpy as today was supposed to be a total day off for us, lots of pyjamas, DVDs on the sofa etc (we are famously bad at just chilling out and have had a very busy summer), but last night I started feeling quite ill (exhausted, sick, headache). Bit better this morning but I woke up at 6am and now can't stop myself going back to sleep. I am sooo tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. DW made me blueberry pancakes for breakfast as a treat and I slept the whole time she was cooking and went immediately back to bed afterwards. Grr! I've been really looking forward to today and now I think I might sleep through all of it. I've been having loads of ligament pain too so I wonder if the baby is just having another massive growth spurt. Anyone else feeling incredibly tired again around the 20wk mark?

Sorry for the complaining post. Hope I feel better tomorrow as it's our 20 wk scan and I've been really looking forward to it.

kate hope your DH is being a bit less annoying now. Though having the builders in will drive even the most balanced person to distraction!

Oh he's now having a mad day clearing out the nursery. I haven't even thought about it while the kitchen is being done. One room at a time. But he's stressing there's no time haha. I'm not giving birth yet! I'm leaving him to it but feel I should be helping but don't have the energy. I just wish he'd stop stressing about everything.

Dec2013mummy · 17/08/2014 11:50

20 weeks today and scan on Wednesday.
kate sorry to hear Dh is being a pain! Having tenecation work done is so stressful at time (have done up 2 houses and having learnt from our lessons are now buying a new build) we decided that another renovation project with a newborn and 13 month old was not the best idea Grin!
sunshine sorry you're feeling so rubbish! I am very very tired but Ds is still waking countless times a height so I think mine has as much to do with that as it has this pregnancy. Luckily Dh is fab and as he is off at the moment is doing alit of the nights too :)
Talking about moving, we are part exchanging and were supposed to be moving this Friday. They have is a whole lecture about of we weren't ready on time then they would consider not giving us everything we have off/ incentives (we have quite a lot) and guess what... Their solicitors have been dragging their feet, they haven't done the survey and we are ready to move!! Dh is going to ring them in the morning and go ballistic find out what's going on! We have to move by the end of this month due to work constraints!! Arggghhhh

KateTheHuman · 17/08/2014 14:17

Hee is anyone having a good day today??? :-)

rumisyum · 17/08/2014 14:22

Hello hello! Sorry to hear about the house-buying/moving drama Decmummy. Oof. Hope it gets sorted out asap!

Ah, your poor DH Kate. Bless him, hope tidying up the nursery calms him down a bit.

Sunshine I keep having tiredness come & go in waves. I'm starting to accept this is just what pregnancy is like for me!

Found a maternity bra I like! And it's only cheap! It's H&M. Hurrah!

SK28 · 17/08/2014 18:01

Sorry to hear about all the bad days, ladies Thanks My hubby is in DIY mode and invited both his brothers for lunch and then persuaded them to help him put up our TV bracket and mount the TV. Sounds simple but they been at it since 4!

Pesto11 · 17/08/2014 18:08

sunshine I slept through yesterday
Literally got up, ate breakfast, watched TV, ate too much at lunch, read a book and fell asleep, woke up and had toast and fruit for dinner and went to bed!
I couldn't believe I wasted a day but hey ho... Body needed to chill

Minibagel · 17/08/2014 18:23

Evening ladies!

Talking of aches and pains I am worried I might have SPD. Occasionally I get a sharp pain in my back and all through my pelvis which feels so strong I go weak and worry it might make me fall over. It doesnt last long and its not when im doing anything specific, I'm either walking, carrying or standing still. I can't remember getting these pains this early with ds1 but has anyone else had this? I know it's very common. Will keep an eye on it and mention to the mw at 25weeks.

I also had some ligament pain today and the bump seems to have had a growth spurt, so i'm guessing these two things are related.

Looking forward to hearing scan news from next week and to chatting more with the new mamas on the bus :)

Mini, I had SPD with my first pregnancy and have felt it again this week. It is bloody painful, I can self refer to physio, maybe you can too?

Minibagel · 17/08/2014 20:01

How bad does it have to be to go to physio? I don't want to waste anyone's time if this isnt spd but just normal aches and pains if you know what I mean. My local hospital requires mw referral but i'll see what the mw says.

ViviPru · 17/08/2014 20:14

Oh no Mini that sounds awful Sad . Sounds like a few of you have had quite a trying weekend, hope everyone has a brighter week this week.

Welcome Rose Easter & Joosie and welcome back Bilbo! Wow we must be the busiest bus on MN.

I've had a lovely weekend down south visiting DH's family and friends. We FINALLY spilled the beans to DH's best friend and his DW and they were thrilled. Only a couple more close friends to go before we can lift the media blackout!

Went to SILs preggo yoga class with her, it was very good and so nice to share it with her. At one point I was sitting across from her holding a pose and it struck me... omg if you'd told me this time last year her and I would be doing this together and expecting babies a day apart I'd have laughed my head off.

Had a nice afternoon with the PILs who seem the be infinitely more bearable now we all have prospective GDC to chat about. Then big BBQ with all DHs old school friends who were all very excited about our news. There are a couple of same-sex couples in the group, one with 2DC and the other are currently TTC. It was very interesting chatting to them about their experiences and the processes they've been through. I'd love to hear about the conception journey you and your DW have been on, Sunshine, obviously more than understand if you preferred not to share.

Dropped in on my Aunt, Uncle and cousins who I adore on our way back north. They're beyond excited and indulged me massively with pregnancy chat.

Finally home now after a wonderful but exhausting weekend; the icing on the cake was DH felt The Fidget moving for the first time. He was so shocked and excited, at first he said he thought it was me doing it ( how I could create that movement with non-existent abs I have no idea ) but once he realised it was the Prulet he was awestruck. On the way home we had Bob Sinclar on and were singing at the tops of our voices "I can FEEL it... Can you FEEL IT"!!!!!

Apols for mammoth post but yinnah, me me me pregnancy innit.

blizy · 17/08/2014 20:14

Mini, it's better to go sooner rather than later. They will give you advice on how to move out of car, in bed etc and some exercise. Last time I didn't see the physio until I was 8 months, which was pretty much to late.

cheshirem2b · 17/08/2014 20:30

vivi that sounds like a great weekend! I can't wait for dh to feel smudgey move! He's so jealous in the evenings when I can feel baby!
Glad all your family and friends are excited for you!

Pesto11 · 17/08/2014 20:47

I don't know your family or friends vivipru but your happy post has really cheered me up!
In bed with a massive headache and imagining a couple driving along singing 'can you feel it?' Smile

SK28 · 17/08/2014 20:56

What a lovely weekend Vivi!

I'm also feeling happy today because I finally felt Baby K moving for the first time :) At least I hope that's what it is - lots of fluttery feelings like butterflies in my tummy - very exciting!

Poor DH though - I exclaimed 'Oh, I think I just felt baby!' and he came running over to put his hand on my tummy; I had to tell him he won't be feeling it just yet, he was so disappointed :(

Ahh thanks all! Hope your headache wears off soon Pesto and those kicks are externally tangible asap for your DHs, SK28 & Cheshire!!

Oh no Pesto, headaches are awful. I'd rather be full in sick than having a headache. I hope it goes soon.

Mini, I hope they can help you with your pelvic pain. It is pelvic pain, isn't it? I'm still not really clued on all the medical terms!

Vivi, what a lovely weekend!! And I love it when people indulged me with pregnancy talk hehe.

Re stressed husbands: I've noticed a sense of urgency in mind too. He's not moody per se but he's definitely not as laid back as he used to! Usually I'm the stressed one hehe

And as for sleep... I shamelessly sleep everytime I need to! The start of term is going to be a huge shock to my indulged pregnant self!!!

rumisyum · 17/08/2014 21:54

Welcome to all the new joiners! So glad to have you on the chattiest baby bus known to MN. Wink

Aww, Pru that sounds like an amazing weekend! I feel all warm & fuzzy just reading about it, so must have been really wonderful for you. Smile

And newborn cuddles with your DN Mad! How wonderful. I LOVE the smell of newborn babies, can't get enough.

I had quite a lovely weekend too - we had a party with lots of friends & family, there was lots of chat and excitement over new baby, and lots of cute little pressies, including an adorable rabbit knitted by one aunty-to-be, which the other aunty-to-be named Nigel. Grin. Feels pretty awesome to know how many people are looking forward to the little one's arrival. And I also discovered a friend is due 2 weeks after me - she might be on the Feb bus for all I know! Then had a good day today pootling about with the husband - went out for brunch and a long country walk, back home for tea & cake and a bit of knitting on the sofa. All set for a good week (and a good scan on Tuesday!) over here. Smile

My kind of weekend Smile

ViviPru · 18/08/2014 07:29

Sounds like a lovely weekend too Rum. How nice to have a friend due close in dates.

I'm told no babies were registered as 'Nigel' in 2013. Due a revival?!

Relieved my Mindful Mama hypnobirthing course is ok to be rescheduled after I messed up and double booked Bumpfest on the same date. Phew.

Reoccurring theme of chat this weekend among parent friends was are we going to do NCT. We were erring on the side of CBA for various reasons, but now I'm thinking oh fuck it may as well, but with well managed expectations.
