Great news about the scans : )

mummyk8 · 15/08/2014 23:28

Yes picked up my first two Emma's Diary packs today. Got some good baby loot the free nappies were from Aldi though that said heard good thing about them. You can pick them up from Argos or Boots apparently you get different things in them from each shop so printing off some more and getting them again from Boots this time.

blizy · 16/08/2014 00:22

Where did you get the first bounty pack? Do you need it to get the second one? Be careful with Emma's diary, I got loads of junk mail and arresting phone calls from them last time, even after I informed them that dd was stillborn and demanded to be taken off the mailing lists.

Loobyloo893 · 16/08/2014 06:13

Glad the scans went wellSmile

Any nice plans for the weekend. DH has been away for a bit so we're having a chilled family weekend. Taking DS to soft play, going for brunch tomorrow and maybe swimming. Nice relaxing weekend Smile

Anyone else suffering from infuriating insomnia? I couldn't sleep in the early weeks which got better but it's back now! I've keep trying baths, lavender, meditation etc. but always seem to wake up about 3am even when I don't need the loo. Got bored and got up at 4.30 this morning, on a Saturday!!

I didn't sign up for any of those bounty things, it annoyed me at booking in you basically got given a load of adverts, seemed a big unethical somehow to be given that by the NHS. blizy I can't believe they still bothered you even after you told them about your dd!

Loobyloo893 · 16/08/2014 07:25

Yep Saras. I'm ok getting to sleep but wake up at 3 every morning just about drop off again at about half 5 and DS wakes up. Been like that since I found out I was pg. maybe natures way of preparing us for sleepless nights?!

Saras - the first pack is just full of advertising bumf and it annoyed me tbh. DH picked up this second one for me and its actually just freebies and an advertising magazine (which I threw away Grin ) Figure we may as well take advantage of them Wink

I'm ok with getting to sleep so far but am waking up earlier and earlier too... Hmm

Got a wedding today! I do love a good wedding Smile Might even treat myself to a glass of fizzy wine haha!

Aww I haven't seen the second bounty pack. Haven't used any of the stuff from the first one either. I'm rubbish!

Hello there. Any room for a new one? I've been lurking for a while so figured it was about time I said hello to you all. It's lovely to hear from so many people who are going through the same things.

I'm 20w +1 now with my first dc. Scan on Monday, which I'm massively nervous and excited about at the same time.

BilboTheAlmighty · 16/08/2014 09:40

Hello everyone! I used to post on this group right at the beginning and then fell off the wagon: but baby and I are still here Smile

19+1 today: where has the time gone?

I can't feel baby kick yet, which worries me a little, but I already know it is a girl!! We had a private gender scan whilst close family were visiting so they would feel a bit more involved (they love abroad). It was lovely and I am so happy at the thought of having a girl. And I won't even mention my husband whom I've never seen so happy! Mind you, if the sonographer had said "boy", we would have been just as happy!!

Am I the only one with a painful back btw?

Pesto11 · 16/08/2014 09:42

Welcome easterrobin we're all a mixture of nerves and excitement over here!

I looked through my first bounty pack , gave dh the free teabag and haven't used or signed up to anything else.

Snap with the random sleep patterns- go to sleep fine but then I'm up 2-5am!

Was supposed up go swimming yesterday- I didn't
Promised myself I'll go today... But... I feel cold... Making up excuses as I lie in bed! Oh dear
I'm telling myself that if I don't go swimming then I must go for a walk later and it also means I don't have any crisps or chocs today! Dh filled up the cupboard last night so that's going to be hard to resist!

20 weeks today- wow half way! Scan on Wednesday- seems ages away!

sunshineandbiscuits · 16/08/2014 09:58

Hello easterrobin, nice to see you on here! We have our scan on Monday too, getting very excited now.

saras totally agree with you about all the advertising in the Bounty packs. I really don't understand why the NHS allows advertising for maternity and nothing else. Our GP said exactly the same thing when she gave it to us.

Two weeks holiday from work, woohoo! We have a week at home then a week away (more hiking in mountains, yay). Grin

No back pain here, but loads of ligament pain and uncomfortable skin stretching. I think the baby is either having a big growth spurt or is moving up. My bump seems to have grown quite a bit in the last couple of days, and I haven't even eaten any cake for a change Wink

Hi Bilbo :) My back is killing me, feel like an old lady every time I turn over in bed or get up from bed or sofa... Been told yoga helps so starting in 3 weeks.

cheshirem2b · 16/08/2014 16:41

hi ladies from sunny Cornwall!
Bump is huuuuuge today! yay! done loads on holiday so far and starting to feel it's catching up on me so having a lazy afternoon before we go out for dinner (might treat myself to a wine spritzer!)!
Back pain for me is worst at night and hurts when I roll in bed etc but by morning is fine again.
Having a good pg few days here and loving being pg now I'm feeling more movements!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
20+2!

cheshirem2b · 16/08/2014 16:42

ps: our camping airbed died last night (v uncomfortable waking on the floor) but just upgraded to a double thickness one and omg... so comfy! Grin

Loobyloo893 · 16/08/2014 16:50

Sounds fun Cheshire Smile

I had a letter today "inviting" me to have my 3-yearly smear test (how lovely). Does anyone know if this is safe to do during pregnancy or if I should ask them to wait a year and remind me then? Instincts tell me it's not something I'd be comfortable having done while pregnant but don't know if its just me being over cautious.

mummyk8 · 16/08/2014 17:24

Looby I had the same letter yesterday and found the answer here - in short 99% 0f the time no - www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/1646.aspx?CategoryID=54

Loobyloo893 · 16/08/2014 17:30

Thanks k8, that's great. I'll give gp a ring and ask them to postpone it.

BilboTheAlmighty · 16/08/2014 18:53

My back is killing me, feel like an old lady every time I turn over in bed or get up from bed or sofa

Back pain for me is worst at night and hurts when I roll in bed etc but by morning is fine again

^^That exactly. The pain is so intense when I lie down/sit down for a while... And at night when going to bed... I actually cry yesterday Blush

I thought back pain was a 3rd trimester thing but apparently not. Any tips to help? I have trained DH to massage the exact spot: he is getting quite good at it Grin But since he works shifts, he is not always home in the evening to help!!!

KateTheHuman · 16/08/2014 20:44

Haha looby I've had a phone call and a letter offering me a smear test. I wish they'd update my details!

cheshirem2b · 16/08/2014 21:56

I got that letter a couple of months back. mw told me to just book myself in 3 months (or so) after baby has arrived. Great to see nhs systems work in harmony! Wink

KateTheHuman · 17/08/2014 08:57

Morning all. So annoyed with hubby today. He's being such a drama queen. Thankfully he's driven off in a huff so the house is peaceful. Hope he stays out all day!

Hope everyone is ok!
